The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 470 - Mana and Qi

Qingyi cast a final glance at his surroundings after finishing his conversation with the girls and exiting the mental realm.
The area was a scene of total devastation. There was nothing left amidst the ruins that could even serve as a meal for Khaedryss.
It wasn't a concern, however; the creatures within the mind world were multiplying at a staggering pace, and Khaedryss's strength was expanding alongside them.
Truthfully, Qingyi suspected that even he would find it difficult to oppose her in her current state.
Following a brief moment of contemplation, Qingyi abandoned the crater. He took to the skies, heading toward the north for several hundred kilometers before coming to a halt.
Having just obtained a formidable new power, he was naturally eager to put it to the test.
He landed on the side of a secluded hill. Pushing his Qi senses outward, he confirmed that no presence could be detected for dozens of kilometers in any direction.
“Yes... this will suffice.” A smile played on Qingyi’s lips.
He summoned his mana, coating the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword in its essence before launching an elemental strike of fire.
The sensation remained peculiar despite his Qi and mana affinities having assimilated into one another.
The flames possessed a slightly more yellowish hue, and their temperature was only marginally lower than usual.
This did not imply that mana was inferior to Qi, however; the destructive force that slammed into the treeline was certainly not lacking.
The blast carved through the landscape for miles, reducing trees to ash and scorching the very soil.
Though Qingyi was still adjusting to the nuances of mana, the output was impressive. More importantly, there was a specific theory he needed to verify.
A wide grin split Qingyi's face as he began channeling both types of energy into his physical form.
Every cultivator faced a threshold for how much Qi could be forced into their muscles or weapons. There was a breaking point where even a body as resilient as his would begin to tear apart.
He could already augment his strength dozens of times over—a feat far beyond the wildest fantasies of any other cultivator at his level.
But... why should he settle for that?
First, Qingyi saturated his muscles with Qi until he felt his flesh burning and his limbs swelling slightly.
Once he reached the absolute limit of his Qi capacity, he tapped into his mana reserves and flooded his muscles with that as well, merging it with the existing Qi.
To his surprise, he encountered no resistance.
His physique expanded further, the concentrated density of Qi and mana becoming so intense that the surrounding space seemed to buckle under the pressure.
Gritting his teeth, Qingyi wound back his arm and unleashed a punch.
The sheer momentum of the strike forced his feet deep into the earth. A violent shockwave of pressure exploded forward, obliterating everything in its path.
Forests were cleaved in two, the sturdiest trees were torn from the ground, and the earth split open like a gaping wound.
The kinetic force of the blow traveled for kilometers, eventually slamming into a distant hillside with the force of a massive detonation. The mountain shuddered violently as a significant portion of the peak collapsed into rubble.
“Good.” Qingyi smiled, rolling his neck to work out the tension.
His current power still paled in comparison to his father-in-law, Tai’Ren, but it was undeniably superior to using Qi alone without the mana integration.
While the conversion wasn't perfectly efficient, he estimated a raw strength increase of roughly thirty percent.
He exhaled a long breath and resumed his training until a new realization struck him.
Combining different variations of Qi had always yielded fascinating consequences. The union of fire, lightning, and sword intent produced his most devastating technique, while the fusion of ice and fire birthed the Flames of Primordial Chaos.
Typically, such experimentation was discouraged, as the average cultivator lacked a body sturdy enough to survive the internal pressure.
Fortunately, Qingyi was far from average.
He settled into a cross-legged position. Since his garments were already shredded, he wasn't bothered by the dirt.
Closing his eyes, he pressed his palms together.
He manifested mana from his left side and Qi from his right, compressing them into tiny, radiant orbs before gradually drawing them toward a central point.
Resistance flared instantly. A layer of plasma formed between the two spheres, causing the ambient temperature to skyrocket. Qingyi ground his teeth and pushed harder. The boundary between the two energies grew wildly unstable, sending ripples of intense heat outward.
He refused to yield. Despite his trembling arms, he exerted more pressure until the two distinct energies finally touched.
In that instant, Qingyi’s eyes snapped open. A deluge of system alerts flooded his consciousness.
Warning messages and urgent commands to cease the process flashed before him.
Then, the impossible happened.
For a fleeting heartbeat, the two energies combined into a core of absolute purity. Qingyi barely had a moment to observe its nature before the stability vanished.

His Meridians shuddered violently. His Qi and mana reserves collapsed simultaneously, forcing a surge of blood up into his throat.
Above, the sky turned pitch black as heavy clouds swirled, making the heavens themselves tremble.
Ignoring the agony coursing through his nerves, Qingyi slammed a fist into the ground and glared upward.
“So you aren't backing off this time, are you? What's wrong, did I bruise your fragile ego?” Qingyi’s laughter echoed toward the firmament. Whatever he had just achieved had clearly provoked the world, and a Heavenly Tribulation was now imminent. Qingyi gritted his teeth and drew the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword, flooding the blade with both Qi and mana simultaneously.
He wanted to understand exactly why the heavens hated his progress so much, and what that pure energy was that he had glimpsed before the collapse.
But survival had to come first.
The sky let out a final, deafening roar. The Qi density in the air spiked as dozens of silver bolts of lightning tore through the dark clouds, focusing directly above him.
“Come then!” the Young Master challenged.
A black dragon manifested behind him as gray fire wreathed the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword.
As his voice faded, the heavens answered: a literal sea of lightning coalesced into a single, terrifying strike. It descended with an aura like the beat of a Phoenix’s wings, screaming through the air toward Qingyi.
The handsome young man met the challenge head-on, unleashing the full, unbridled power of his Primordial Chaos Flames.
