The Conquerors Path Chapter 2: New Start

Previously on The Conquerors Path...
A boy with silver hair, residing in an extravagant room within a duchess’s castle, awoke in immense pain. He soon realized his surroundings were unfamiliar and that he had become small, his own body transformed. As he grappled with the impossible notion of transmigration, a system voice welcomed him to a new life.

Upon hearing the words he had dreaded his entire life, the "boy" broke into uncontrollable tears.

‘...So, I really did die.’

‘But how is that even possible? I clearly remember walking out of my dorm to grab some groceries, and then... wait, everything after that is a complete blank.’

Monitoring the host’s internal monologue, the system provided an answer.

[Host passed away after returning from the store. You were caught in the crossfire of a shooting and struck by a bullet. Those specific memories were purged to prevent the host from suffering severe psychological trauma!]

The "boy" wept even harder after listening to the explanation from his so-called system.

‘Did I really die without achieving a single thing? I never got to repay the love and support my parents gave me. Is it true that I'll never fulfill my dreams?’

[Warning... Warning...]

[Host's mental state is collapsing...]

[Initiating emergency cooldown protocols.]

A sudden, chilling sensation washed over the "boy," causing his spiraling dark thoughts to miraculously subside.

[Host, though you have died, you have been granted a second chance to forge your destiny. Please remain calm and focus on your breathing.]

As his sanity returned, the haze in his eyes began to vanish, replaced by a newfound clarity.

Inhaling deeply, the boy attempted to stand, only to fail miserably and tumble back down.

Lying flat on the carpet, the "boy" whispered a question.

"So... what happened back home? Is everyone okay... a-ar-are my parents alright?"

[Host’s parents are alive. They attended your funeral and did suffer from depression, but they will eventually recover.]

The boy let out a heavy sigh of relief upon hearing the system's report. "Just give me some time alone to process this."

The system went silent, respecting the host's request after analyzing his fragile mental state.

Closing his eyes, the boy began to reminisce about his past, his family, and every moment of his twenty-two years of life.

Half an hour slipped by in silence. When he finally opened his eyes, they reflected a whirlpool of emotions; he hadn't forgotten his past, but he was finally ready to step forward into the future.

"Hey system, I'm ready now. Can you explain why I can't move my body?"

Finally receiving the prompt it was waiting for, the system replied.

[Yes, host, we may begin! Currently, your soul is being tethered to this physical vessel. Because there is a slight mismatch between your soul and the body, the integration process will take time.]

[However, do not fret. I can accelerate the synchronization by administering a shock to your current body.]

While the "boy" smiled at the first part of the system's message, his expression quickly soured as he heard the rest.

"How long would the natural integration take?"

[Approximately 1 to 2 months.]

‘So you're basically telling me I have no choice but to take the shock? Those aren't even real options!’

Taking a deep breath to suppress his mounting irritation, the boy conceded. "Fine, just give me the shocks."

[Understood, host. You should probably hold your breath for the incoming jolt in 3... 2... 1!]

Suddenly, the boy’s limbs began to flail and twitch like a fish gasping for air. The convulsions lasted for twenty agonizing seconds before his body finally stilled.

‘Argh... damn it. Hey system, why don't you manifest in front of me so I can "thank" you properly?’

[There is no need, host. I am an eternal entity; you cannot touch me.]

Grumbling under his breath, the "boy" pushed himself off the floor and scanned his surroundings.

‘Judging by the decor and the size of this room, it looks like this kid comes from a very wealthy family.’

"Alright system, tell me where I am and who I've become."

[Host should take a seat before I begin the briefing.]

The "boy" sat down on the edge of the bed, bracing himself to learn about his new identity.

[The host is currently located in the world of "Ether," from the story "Arizinons Sense".]

Upon hearing the system's words, the "boy" bolted upright from the bed, his face pale with absolute shock.
