The Bloodline System Chapter 1670: Ritual Resumption
Previously on The Bloodline System...
Slowly, they made their way through the warped dimensions of space. Navigating the ship felt like forcing a needle through layers of heavy, dense cloth. At intervals, distant stars would vanish entirely, wiped from existence, only to reappear later with distorted, unnatural forms.
After a grueling hour of travel, Angy rose from her seat.
"Here," she announced abruptly. "Cut the engines. This is the location."
"Are you certain?" Endric questioned.
Angy gave a firm nod, moving closer to the glass of the viewport. "This is the place where Gustav fell. I can... sense it."
The crew traded nervous looks, yet none of them dared to doubt her. The bond between Angy and Gustav had always been profound. Now, as her bloodline underwent strange new awakenings, her intuition had grown sharper and more profound—bordering on the prophetic.
They prepared to disembark from the vessel.
One by one, the group donned specialized suits, each reinforced with MBO modifications and high-level shielding. Despite the gear, several members felt a lingering dread, unsure if technology could truly protect them in a zone where the fabric of reality had been mutilated.
Aildris loosened his muscles, centering his energy. "Is everyone ready?"
None of them truly felt ready.
Nevertheless, they nodded in unison.
The airlock opened, releasing them into a corrosive, colorless void. Though their boots met no solid ground, they encountered a strange resistance, as if they were wading through a thick fog composed of paper-thin sheets.
Angy drifted into the lead, her long silver and pink hair swirling around her like ink dissolving in water.
"This distance is sufficient," she whispered. "Begin the setup here."
E.E let out a shaky breath. "So this is the moment... the start of a path we can't walk back from."
Angy’s gaze remained locked on the horizon. "Choice isn't an option. If we delay any longer... there won’t be a universe left to save."
There were things she kept to herself.
She didn't mention that her child was reacting to the environment.
Nor did she mention that she could feel the scattered fragments of Gustav’s essence being pulled toward her like a gravitational force.
Endric floated toward her side. "Before we start... you must understand. The moment you begin, they will sense it."
Angy met his gaze, her resolve unshakable. "I am aware. That is why we must be prepared."
"We have followed your instructions exactly," Endric added. "But if even a single deity shows up ahead of schedule—"
"Then you will hold them back," Angy countered, her voice gentle yet commanding.
Endric took a hard swallow. "We’ll try."
The rest of the group formed a wide circle around them. Over thirty individuals—mixedbloods and alien refugees—hovered in the monochrome silence. They were battle-worn warriors and desperate survivors, all of whom had lost everything.
This was their final roll of the dice.
Falco moved toward Angy, passing her the containment cylinders. Each vessel emitted a soft glow, filled with swirling light. This was Gustav’s essence, salvaged bit by bit from every corner of the galaxies.
Angy accepted them with care. They felt warm—unnaturally so.
It was as if they were alive.
Her womb fluttered again as her child reacted to the proximity of the essence.
Closing her eyes for a fleeting second, she steadied her nerves.
Endric drifted upward, taking his position in the heart of the formation.
"Everyone," his voice echoed through the communication channels, "connect your energies. I will facilitate the flow."
E.E lifted a hand. "Are you sure you can handle this, brother?"
Endric gave a sharp nod. "This is the only way."
The ritual commenced.
One by one, the participants ignited their bloodline energies, projecting their powers outward. A kaleidoscope of flames, light, psychic strands, gravitational shifts, and alien particles erupted into the void, shimmering like glowing threads of fate.
Using his telekinesis, Endric seized every individual strand. His power surged violently, his eyes radiating a piercing purple-blue light as the collective energies flowed into his being.
Luminous cracks appeared across his skin as his veins began to glow. His aura flared with explosive force.
Sersi recoiled. "Endric—!"
"I’m fine," he grunted, his teeth clenched in agony.
The combined might of over thirty elite beings was flooding into him. It felt as though he were trying to contain multiple suns within his very blood.
But he refused to break.
He pulled the energies together...
He twisted them into shape...
He forged them...
Until he had sculpted a colossal telekinetic structure.
A bastion.
A fortress.
A sphere of inconceivable density, glowing brighter than any known matter, woven from pure willpower and the shared strength of those who refused to yield.
The shield locked into place, surrounding the entire group.
It was a thousand times more durable than neutronium.
It was a thousand times more intricate than any barrier ever conceived.
E.E whistled softly. "Damn... Endric. You really did it."
Endric offered no response. He was incapable of it. The burden was so massive that blood began to seep from his lip, despite the protection of his helmet.
Angy floated into the center of the protected zone, clutching the essence containers.
"Once I start," she spoke softly, "do not approach me. No matter what occurs... keep your distance."
Ria's brow furrowed. "We have no idea what the consequences will be."
"I do," Angy whispered.
She offered no further explanation.
No.
This was a weight she had to carry alone.
She placed her hand on the first cylinder. It hummed against her touch.
Her bloodline surged, sending silver fractals dancing through her eyes.
A warm vibration rose from her stomach, traveling through her torso and chest, reaching up to her throat—
She let out a sharp gasp.
Falco lunged forward instinctively. "Angy—!"
"Don’t!" she barked, her eyes erupting with brilliance. "Stay where you are!"
He stopped mid-air, stunned.
Angy remained suspended, her breath coming in ragged gasps as the power throbbed inside her like a second heart. The essences began to vibrate in sympathy—reacting to her presence and recognizing a familiar force within her.
Her bloodline.
Her unborn child.
She started to unseal the containers.
One.
A torrent of energy erupted, spiraling into her skin.
Two.
A vortex of radiance enveloped her entire form.
Three.
Her pulse fell into perfect rhythm with the essence—thump... thump... thump—becoming louder, sharper, and more divine with every beat.
The onlookers watched, caught between wonder and dread.
E.E muttered under his breath, "Is she... actually glowing?"
Ria swallowed nervously. "It's more than that. Her aura is literally warping the space around her."
Indeed, the monochrome void began to ripple. The black-and-white streaks of the dimension bent away as if repelled by a massive cosmic weight.
Deep within her, the baby pulsed once more, as if offering its own existence and connection to the Outworldly power.
Angy gritted her teeth against the rising tide of pain in her abdomen. 'Not yet... please... just hold on a little longer...'
She opened the remaining vessels.
Five.
Seven.
Nine.
Her body convulsed with every new addition, but she did not stop.
Endric gripped his helmet, sweat pouring down his face despite the sub-zero environment. "Her energy levels are breaking the scale... this is madness..."
Sersi nodded slowly, her eyes wide with shock. "She is beginning to reach... the level of a deity."
Angy ascended higher, surrounded by swirling gales of cosmic pressure as more of Gustav’s eternal essence fused with her bloodline.
