In the frozen wasteland, the group activates an icicle to form a magical array, revealing stairs leading into the ground. As they descend, escalating heat forces the protagonist to create a protective barrier. At the bottom lies a scorching lava-filled realm, similar to a past dungeon. Unable to shield his companions indefinitely, he sends them back to the surface. Alone, he activates the Mark of God and displays a rock gifted by the rock elementals to summon the fire inhabitants.

Once I had set out those items, all I could do was wait and observe whatever response might emerge from this fiery domain.

Yet, surprisingly, no reaction stirred at all in the surroundings.

This realm brimmed with raging infernos, leaving no room for other presences amid the blaze.

Thus, the sole sight that met my eyes was the relentless fire encircling everything.

Truly, it felt utterly devoid of any life or hidden secrets.

But then, a faint pulse of divine energy brushed against my senses.

This aura didn't originate from within me, so it must have belonged to the elementals dwelling in this scorching environment.

Still, pinpointing its source eluded me completely.

Only later did I notice the subtle anomaly in the flames nearby—though I didn't discover it independently.

Ifrit was the one who alerted me to this peculiarity.

Upon closer inspection, additional blazes flickered into view, their movements swaying in a rhythm distinct from the ordinary fires before. The lively twirl of these flames suggested a spark of vitality within them.

"Are you the elementals I'm destined to encounter?"

No answer echoed back to my bold query, yet I persisted, declaring, "I'm the envoy chosen by the god to aid you. I'm unsure if you can reveal yourselves to me, but I'd like to discuss ways I can assist your plight."

After an extended hush hung in the air, they at last unveiled their forms.

True to Ifrit's words, these elementals manifested as the very flames that had materialized around me.

As they chose to emerge fully, I realized they had encircled me entirely. Shockingly, their numbers were far greater than I'd anticipated.

In such a blistering haven, blending into the fires provided flawless concealment.

Without deep knowledge of fire's nuances, spotting the shifts in the environment proved impossible. Even with expertise, distinguishing them remained a challenge.

Ultimately, separating the flame elementals from the ambient blaze was no easy feat.

For they all shared the essence of pure fire...

Merely by altering their shapes slightly did the flame elementals allow me to differentiate them from the standard infernos.

"You claim to be the god’s envoy?" One flame elemental advanced, seemingly as spokesperson for its kin, and posed the question.

I responded with a straightforward nod, then lifted the hand bearing the Mark of God.

Unlike the bold rock elementals, this fiery being lacked the daring to draw near the sacred mark I presented.

Instead, it regarded the symbol with cautious stares, though discerning emotions was tricky amid the ever-shifting blaze of its features.

Reading the rock elementals' moods was simpler, given their solid, unchanging forms compared to these writhing flames.

"Is there a problem?" I inquired, noting their hesitant glances at my outstretched hand.

A fresh quietude settled briefly before the flame elemental replied, "You carry a spirit's essence upon you, yet you insist you're the god’s representative?"

A wry grin tugged at my lips upon hearing this, and I explained, "Without that spirit's might, I'd be unable to endure this inferno. It's solely through its protection that I stand here unscathed."

I continued, "Naturally, you sense this mark's authenticity. A forgery couldn't emanate such potent divine energy, could it?"

The elemental remained silent initially, but soon edged nearer to scrutinize the Mark of God etched on my hand's back.

It refrained from contact, wisely aware of the peril, yet leaned in for a better view. As it approached, waves of intense heat radiated toward me.

Were it not for Ifrit's shielding power, that scorching intensity would have seared me instantly.

Satisfied at last with its examination, the elemental lifted its gaze to mine and declared, "Accompany us to the village."

Though vigilance lingered in its demeanor, this concession sufficed for the moment.

Arriving at the village and the core site of their need would swiftly validate my true role.

Trailing the flame elementals led us swiftly to a region far more sweltering than our prior spot. Countless varied fires filled this area, each harboring more of these fiery beings.

The scene evoked my initial arrival at the rock elementals' settlement.

However, this fiery abode differed starkly from that stony one.

Rather than stone structures for homes, the flame elementals dwelled within flowing lava streams, which amplified the oppressive warmth pervading the locale.

Another stark contrast lay in the settlement's proportions.

Unlike the miniaturized rock village tailored to its diminutive inhabitants, this one scaled grandly.

The flame elementals towered impressively, matching the stature of average humans.

Consequently, their village rivaled the size of any mortal hamlet.

Of course, no human could possibly thrive in such a hellish domain.

Any who dared venture there would swiftly char to ashes in the merciless blaze.
