Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1969: Queen of bugs

"I’m not what you imagined?"
The shock was so overwhelming that I failed to mask my reaction. My face betrayed my thoughts entirely.
Given the stunned expression I wore, it wasn't surprising that they had successfully deduced my internal monologue.
Since the truth was already out, there was no point in pretending otherwise. I simply gave a nod in confirmation.
"Well, it’s only natural that I wouldn't match your expectations of a god’s messenger. Truthfully, I believe the only reason I achieved this station was because of the specific god I serve."
A hint of melancholy colored their voice as they spoke.
It was evident they understood the peculiarity of their position, yet they didn't seem to be wallowing in self-deprecation.
This god’s messenger had likely been alive for ages, so it made sense that they had eventually come to terms with their nature.
Still, the reality that this god’s messenger was a bug, just like the others, was truly startling.
In fact, this particular insect was even smaller than the majority of the creatures in this colony. Had my vision not significantly improved recently, I would have struggled to even spot them.
Even so, discerning the bug's full appearance remained a challenge.
However, I did notice one specific feature that seemed odd yet appropriate. After all, this was the entity that commanded the entire hive.
The fact that it wore what appeared to be a crown upon its head felt perfectly fitting.
Clearly, this was the queen of the colony.
Yet, her appearance was peculiar; she didn't possess the traits of any single species. She didn't look like an ant queen, but rather a bizarre amalgamation of various insect types merged into one form.
Judging by her looks, she could be described as the universal queen of all insects.
"I am aware that my form is strange, but that is the identity I was granted. First, allow me to introduce the god I serve, Insectum. I imagine you can already surmise what domain they rule over."
With a name like that, the god's portfolio wasn't hard to guess.
Nevertheless, it was quite unusual that a God of Insects even existed in the first place.
"Through their divine blessing, I was made the progenitor of every insect in existence. That is ultimately how I became a god’s messenger."
The progenitor... so this messenger was essentially the very first insect to ever exist.
When framed that way, it made perfect sense that the queen of bugs would hold the rank of a god’s messenger.
The first of her kind—that was a truly legendary status.
It was comparable to Adam and Eve among humans... though that specific religion didn't exist within this game world.
"Do you have any messages for me?" I asked, shifting the subject. It felt somewhat impolite to keep prying into the messenger's personal history.
Krtch, krtch, krtch.
A peculiar sound emanated from the god’s messenger, but based on the rhythm, it seemed as though she was laughing.
After a moment, the messenger spoke in a tone of amusement, "Very direct. I like that. In that case, I won't waste any of your time."
Adopting a more serious tone, the god’s messenger continued, "I am aware that you are gathering god’s messengers to prepare for the final battle. I am willing to accompany you, but there is a task I require you to complete before I can depart."
Although I hadn't faced such a condition when meeting other god’s messengers, I wasn't particularly shocked. It was actually more strange that the others had been so willing to follow me without any hesitation.
Being asked for a favor before they joined me felt far more grounded in reality.
Thus, I responded with a simple nod, "What is it you need me to do?"
Rather than providing a direct reply, the messenger remarked, "Well, I am certain you can tell that I differ significantly from the other god’s messengers you have encountered."
A small smile played on my lips. Calling her "different" was a massive understatement, but I remained attentive to hear the rest.
"Naturally, my powers are distinct from theirs as well. Because of this, there are unique conditions that must be met before I can leave with you."
I nodded again to show I followed her logic.
"What I need," she stated, "is for you to take this entire zone away with you."
"Huh?" I was caught completely off guard, staring at the god’s messenger with a look of pure bewilderment.
With what sounded like another chuckle, the messenger said, "Don't look at me like that. I am not joking; I am being entirely serious."
I replied in a hesitant voice, "Well, I do know some earth magic, and I possess a relic from Terra... it's just that moving this entire physical space with only those tools would be incredibly difficult..."
"Who said anything about doing that? I simply want you to claim this habitat and carry it with you."
I found myself drowning in confusion once again upon hearing her words.
