Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1937: I want to meet them

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Following a failed assassination attempt on Dorothy, the royal guards have secured the capital and begun examining the captured attackers. These assassins appear to be mindless tools of the racial alliance, physically altered to ensure they cannot betray their masters even under interrogation. Despite the clear involvement of alliance members, the culprit remains hidden, forcing a tense meeting where the truth is masked by political pleasantries. Realizing that further attacks are inevitable, the search for trustworthy allies begins to ensure Dorothy's safety.

"I want to meet the other god’s messengers. I’m sure that you know where they are, so give me their location."

My request caught both Lupus and Zeldir completely off guard.

A heavy silence fell between them as they directed peculiar gazes toward me, but I didn't flinch. I simply maintained a serious expression, waiting for them to provide an answer.

Eventually, Zeldir broke the silence, saying, "Well, it’s not as if we can’t tell you."

Lupus offered a slow nod, signaling her agreement with his statement.

I was genuinely surprised by their response, as it wasn't the reaction I had anticipated. However, since they claimed it wasn't an issue, I wasn't about to argue with them.

"Where are they then?"

Instead of answering immediately, the two shared a look as if they were conducting a silent, private conversation.

Watching their behavior, I narrowed my eyes in suspicion.

Finally, Zeldir spoke up. "It’s not a problem for us to tell you where they are, it’s just that it won’t be that simple to meet them."

His words caused me to squint even further.

Sensing my unspoken question, Zeldir clarified, "Well, there’s a reason that they’ve been hidden away for so long after all. If you want to meet them, it’ll depend on your luck on whether you’ll be able to see them or not."

Hearing this, my tense expression finally softened.

I realized he was right.

My encounter with the two of them had followed a similar pattern.

Meeting them hadn't been a planned event; it had simply occurred by chance.

It wasn't even a result of my own actions; one could say I had merely stumbled upon them.

Therefore, trying to track down a god's messenger was no small feat...

Nevertheless, having a specific destination in mind would certainly make "bumping into them" much easier.

"Then tell me where they are. That’s all I need."

Without further hesitation, Zeldir and Lupus finally provided the details I sought.

Although the information was brief, it painted a picture of a world I hadn't known existed.

There were five god's messengers in total—at least, those were the ones Zeldir and Lupus were aware of. Excluding the two of them, that meant there were three others roaming the world.

Given their status as messengers, it stood to reason that they were legendary beasts just like the two standing before me.

Zeldir and Lupus, however, refrained from identifying exactly what kind of legendary beasts they were.

They insisted that such things would be revealed in due time and that it wasn't their place to disclose that information.

But at the very least, they pointed me toward their locations.

What truly piqued my curiosity, though, was which deities these messengers represented.

"None of these are gods that I’ve met before..."

This applied to Lupus and Zeldir as well; both served divinities I had never encountered, despite the numerous gods I had met during my time being summoned.

The fact that I had never interacted with them suggested they were intentionally avoiding me for a reason.

It reminded me of the unique message Nox had given me regarding Dorothy.

It seemed the gods were still keeping many secrets hidden from me...

Armed with this new information, I finally had a starting point.

Yet, there was one lingering question I had to ask.

"Why are you suddenly giving me all this information?"

For a few moments, Zeldir and Lupus looked at one another—a surprising sight, considering their mutual dislike.

Then, Zeldir replied, "It’s the right time for it."

I couldn't help but narrow my eyes at his vague answer.

Noticing my reaction, Zeldir added, "This is all that we can tell you, but I can guarantee that this isn’t something bad. It’s just that before this, you weren’t ready yet."

Lupus added an even more mysterious comment: "It’s because it’s finally time."

I stared at them with a look of confusion, but neither offered any further explanation.

"Then will you be coming with me?" I asked instead.

"No, we’ll stay here and watch over her. There’s no need for us to go and meet them."

To Zeldir, this seemed to be more of a personal preference than a professional obligation.

There appeared to be something about these other messengers that made Zeldir reluctant to encounter them.

He wasn't the only one acting strange; judging by the look in Lupus's eyes, she also had an issue with the other god's messengers.

Was it a matter of territorial instinct among legendary beasts?

Despite their status, they were still beasts at heart, so it made sense that they would avoid intruding on each other's domains.

Then again, these were ancient beings who had lived for ages; there was undoubtedly a deep history between them.

I was certain there was more to the story than simple territory.

Having gathered the information I needed, I said, "Take care of Dorothy for me then."

Zeldir gave a curt nod, though it was obvious Lupus was displeased with the arrangement.

I chose not to acknowledge her frustration, as I already knew how she felt based on her previous behavior. This was a necessity; Dorothy was vital, and no one possessed greater strength than these two.

For the time being, I needed them to ensure Dorothy's safety while I was away.

"Don’t worry, we’ll keep her safe," Zeldir stated, speaking for both of them, though I pointedly ignored the audible snort that came from Lupus.
