Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1918: Divine energy product (6)

Ignoring the bewildered expressions of those around me, I kept my focus entirely on the spear gripped by Klein.
A deeper understanding of the weapon began to take root in my mind the longer I observed it.
Specifically, I was gaining insight into the nature of armaments forged using the flames of divine energy.
Unlike the dishes I had encountered, which merely held the essence of the flames, these weapons had absorbed the divine energy in a far more profound way.
The energy within these blades and poles was concentrated specifically to complement the weapon’s unique form.
It was more accurate to describe these armaments as vessels designed to house divine energy.
Naturally, the more refined the construction of the weapon, the more effective it became as a container for that power.
As for the implications of this discovery...
The fundamental purpose of any weapon is to maximize the efficiency of the damage dealt to an opponent. This is why a spear features a sharp point—to focus and amplify the force of a thrust into a single, devastating spot.
The divine energy stored within the spear operated on this exact same principle.
When Klein lunged forward, the weapon channeled its internal divine energy, funneling it directly into the tip. This concentration was the reason for the violent, explosive reaction upon contact with the corruption energy monster.
Despite my own grasp of divine energy, this was a technique I had failed to implement until now.
Typically, my method involved simply venting the divine energy toward the corruption energy monsters. Even when I utilized my own reserves to bolster the attack, it lacked this level of sophistication.
I had truly been schooled by the design of this spear.
“I’ve been using it so inefficiently... If I had focused the divine energy like this from the start, I would have dealt significantly more damage. Moreover, I wouldn't have needed to expend so much energy. It’s embarrassing that such a simple concept escaped me.”
Coming from the modern world, this logic should have been second nature to me.
I felt a pang of shame for not realizing it sooner.
“Well, since we aren't gods or even demigods, it isn't like there is anyone to instruct us on the proper use of this power,” I remarked, even as my mind drifted to the actual gods I encountered on a regular basis.
Driven by this new realization, I directed Klein to test the remaining weapons to see if they shared this design philosophy.
It was quickly confirmed that they did.
Since every piece was forged for the sake of slaying enemies, they all adhered to the same fundamental principle.
However, there were clear variations in quality among them.
The spear stood out as the most refined of the lot.
Given its superior craftsmanship, the spear was the most efficient at channeling divine energy. In contrast, the other weapons either wasted energy during use or allowed it to leak out.
Interestingly, when the weapons were idle, the leakage of divine energy was almost nonexistent.
“The quality of these materials is high enough to contain the power. This means we must source more materials of this grade if we intend to equip the entire force.”
As I concluded my observations, the Dwarven King spoke up. “If you can persuade the others to gather the necessary materials, I’ll assemble the smiths to begin large-scale forging.”
He had been trailing me, listening intently to my various mumbles.
Even without my explanation, his mastery of forging would have allowed him to deduce what I was discovering.
I nodded in agreement but added a condition: “Bring in the participants from the tournament to assist you. Eventually, let them lead their own teams once you deem them ready.”
The Dwarven King raised an eyebrow at my suggestion, but I remained firm.
“Consider this an investment in our future,” I stated simply.
His tense expression softened slightly, though a hint of skepticism remained as he asked, “Every one of them?”
“Every one,” I confirmed with a nod. “In time, they should be capable of learning everything you know. We have to look ahead.”
He gave me a look that seemed to ask, “Will we even survive to see that future?”
I met his gaze with calm confidence.
Finally, the Dwarven King let out a weary sigh and said, “Fine, I’ll see to it.”
“Thanks,” I replied with a nod.
He brushed off my gratitude with a wave of his hand, but I knew it wasn't out of dismissal. It was his way of saying that between family, such thanks weren't required.
I turned back to the weapons before lifting my own hand.
I held the button relic within my palm.
After a moment of silent concentration, I managed to condense a tiny droplet of ice in the center of my hand.
A small smile touched my lips as I whispered to myself, “I’ll need to practice this more if I want to use it in a real fight, but this is a solid start.”
With a flick of my wrist, I launched the ice droplet toward one of the captured corruption energy monsters.
Because it was composed of divine energy ice, it passed through our containment barrier without resistance.
The instant it made contact, the corruption energy monster vanished into nothingness.
