Kai reveals the ancient history of the Kingdom of Fairies, Adonis, a lost realm from over two millennia ago, destroyed amid wars that preceded the World Alliance and forced fairies into hiding under Astra's protection. Lia, shocked by this forgotten past, questions how she passed the exclusive fairy barrier without any fairy lineage, leaving both her and Kai puzzled. In the safe haven, she bonds with the twins Lyria and Miria by offering sweets, easing their reverence and turning them into friends who begin sharing secrets.

Observing the duo of tiny fairies leaping about in delight, pursuing the small golem and frolicking with it while savoring the treats, Lia sensed a wave of contentment.

’I’m happy I picked up cooking...’

Lia had prepared the sweets on her own, and as an elite chef, her culinary talents were certainly not something to overlook.

From desserts to meals, whether local specialties or exotic dishes, Lia could whip up nearly every type of cuisine, and even for unfamiliar recipes, she’d master them effortlessly after a single glance!

By now, preparing food transcended mere cooking for her; it had evolved into an artistic expression, a talent in which she excelled profoundly!

Though Lia had never entered those prestigious national or global culinary contests, her abilities placed her at least on par with a national titleholder!

Her mentor, Mel, who doubled as her devoted maid, held both national and international championships; so, as Mel’s apprentice, Lia possessed such remarkable expertise that she could claim numerous victories in competitions if she ever competed.

Yet, the true motivation behind Lia’s pursuit of cooking wasn’t about rivalries or accolades of that sort.

In an era dominated by instant 3D-printed meals and advanced AI plus robotic assistants for kitchen tasks and household duties, the passion for handcrafted cuisine endured.

Not due to superior flavor or quality over machine-produced fare, but because it embodied the creator’s heartfelt sentiments.

In a time when meals could be fabricated at a whim, receiving something laboriously handmade turned that dish into more than sustenance; it became a testament to the cook’s affection toward the recipient!

Lia had spent much of her early years without parents, viewing Mel as a surrogate mother figure.

She held deep respect for Mel’s unwavering presence in her life, and Lia had long been captivated by the sheer joy Mel displayed while preparing meals by hand for her.

Eventually, witnessing that enviable bliss on Mel’s features sparked Lia’s own fascination with cooking.

For Lia, the act of cooking served as a way to spark joy and laughter among those dear to her.

Watching the two small fairies beam and chuckle upon tasting the sweets filled her with similar warmth.

"You both should learn to be more careful, accepting treats from unknowns and messing around with a golem you just encountered..."

"You two are far too carefree..."

Upon hearing Lia’s gentle scolding, the pair of little fairies let out giggles and responded,

"But you’re no stranger, Lia; you’re our friend, hehe~"

In response, Lia could merely shake her head in fond exasperation.

’How can I tell these two scatterbrained twins that I’m not precisely a virtuous soul, and even that tiny golem they’re chasing...’

’Is in fact a mobile explosive capable of demolishing the whole solar system...’

Seeing them laugh and bound energetically alongside the little golem resembled observing a couple of oblivious simpletons cavorting near a volatile nuclear core primed to erupt at any moment.

And the most heartbreaking aspect was that these two little fairies probably met a tragic end in the actual timeline.

’Sigh... that’s precisely why I avoid diving into dungeons that confront us with echoes of bygone eras...’

From the accounts shared by the two fairies with Lia, this vast land formed part of the Fairy Kingdom known as Adonis.

However, relentless pursuits by demons and humans had forced them into seclusion, scattering the fairies into concealed settlements dotted across the continent.

This particular settlement, nestled close to the northern shores of the fairy kingdom, bore the name City of Eternal Flowers, Kenorland!

Countless fairies resided within this veiled haven, shielded by a formidable illusionary barrier.

As elemental entities, fairies sustained themselves on atmospheric elements and ambient mana.

Consequently, they required no solid food or material goods. Their customs shunned permanent dwellings too, favoring nomadic lifestyles amid verdant realms!

Frequently, they’d rest in makeshift magical nooks or simply perch on tree limbs for the night, only to embark on fresh escapades come morning!

Despite lacking steadfast abodes or structured societies, fairies remained gregarious beings who cherished companionship and merriment.

Hence, they maintained a dedicated gathering spot for reunions.

That spot was the Temple of ’Nature.’

Miria and her companions had convened at the temple that morning before slipping beyond the barrier to battle demons, only to fall into a trap set by a formidable demon due to their recklessness.

Without Lyria’s timely intervention to stall the foe, Miria would have perished ages ago. Then Lia arrived to rescue them both.

But in the true history, no such savior as Lia existed two millennia back; thus, the sisters Lyria and Miria most likely fell to that demon, abandoned in peril with no aid.

The cheerful little fairies now amusing themselves with the golem were mere recreations of that distant history; the authentic ones had passed away long before.

Therefore, beholding their radiant grins stirred sorrow in Lia’s heart, yet she remained helpless to alter the course of events, bound by her inability to rewrite history.

’Sigh... if only the fairy folk possessed more wisdom and less recklessness...’

[There’s no need to grieve over this, Kiddo... The past stays unchangeable... Dwelling on it serves no purpose now...]

[Concentrate on your personal ambitions to ensure such tragedies spare you and those you cherish going forward...]

Those words prompted Lia to exhale a resigned sigh and set aside her reflections on the topic.

"The Temple of Nature... that’s our upcoming destination..."
