Reborn as an Extra Chapter 616: Lia’s Adventure Begins! Part-5.

[That appears excessive...]
"Facing monsters and beasts with limited knowledge, it's wiser to annihilate them using overwhelming power to prevent any issues from arising..."
Lia's approach to battle remained straightforward: strike at an opponent's vulnerability for utmost effectiveness, but without knowing that weakness, efficiency and mana conservation take a backseat—simply devastate the entire area without mercy!
"You're incredible! Hehe!"
The tiny golem's large eyes sparkled with awe as it gazed upon Lia's impressive feat.
A huge crater scarred the earth, and right in its heart lay a profound hole carved by particle beams!
The sand had fused into crystals under the intense heat and force of the lasers, while every atom of the monster's form dissolved into raw energy and elemental particles!
With raw power, Lia utterly wiped that tainted beast from the face of existence!
"It was an S-ranker, but it felt rather feeble..."
[No, you've grown stronger since battling Alverto... plus, remember that miasma-affected foes suffer penalties when clashing with you...]
Lia possessed a passive skill named ’Conqueror of Darkness,’ granting her supreme resistance to miasma and corruption, and any demon or corrupted entity battling her endures a severe handicap.
This airborne bird, being a corrupted beast, faced heavy debuffs, and since Divine Spirit Magic excels against miasmic taint, Lia held a tremendous edge in combats like this.
"Regarding the overkill... I wound up pulverizing its remains; now I can't study its anatomy or spot those strange alterations..."
The beast had lingered despite losing half its body to the blast, even manipulating its innards to keep them intact and avoid further harm.
Lia had never encountered, learned of, or heard tales of such an eerie being that defied death after such a devastating injury.
"I'm certain its aura and presence vanished the instant my initial strike hit... suggesting it perished immediately..."
"Yet it rose once more, and its aura resurfaced... this is truly odd... could it have become some sort of ’undead’ right at the moment of death..."
[That's a possibility as well... I too thought it was done, but then its aura returned... such an event only occurs when a being transforms into an undead...]
[Normally, turning a corpse into an undead requires considerable time and a huge buildup of miasma within or near the body...]
[This one shifted so rapidly... maybe due to the heavy miasmic corruption it carried from the start?]
"That could explain it... if a beast harbors sufficient miasmic corruption, it might revive as undead upon dying under certain circumstances..."
"Still, this doesn't occur frequently... sightings of undead demons in the outer world are scarce..."
"Demons, as miasma-born creatures, would spawn hordes of undead if this were typical..."
Lia gazed into the profound void of the pit and sighed in disappointment.
"What a shame, I obliterated its form... else I could have uncovered the trigger for its mutation into that bizarre undead state..."
With a shake of her head, Lia returned her sword to its sheath and chose to soar further into the interior in search of hints.
During her flight, Lia spotted a narrow stream and opted to trace it upward.
Monster habitats cluster most around streams and rivers, so Lia selected this path to uncover signs pointing to this enormous dungeon's ultimate boss.
Surveying the expansive woodland and rugged hills extending to the distant skyline, Lia could only shake her head in frustration.
"This dungeon's scale is immense... it feels like stepping into a vast continent. Endless greenery, regular wildlife, and assorted lesser monsters abound..."
"How can I locate Father in this colossal expanse without any guidance or hints..."
[Speaking of that brawny simpleton, I anticipated we might lose him in here, so I placed a divine spirit mark on him prior to entry...]
[Yet inexplicably, I can't detect it anymore... no clue on his whereabouts...]
[Maybe an obstruction is blocking the link...]
"Obstruction, huh... likely from him landing in a zone thick with environmental miasma..."
"The dungeon spans so much; spots like that wouldn't shock me..."
"Never mind... let's proceed and question a monster for details on this dungeon's layout..."
As Lia conversed with Kai and skimmed low along the stream, her spiritual sense picked up a distinct miasmic surge, and a cry pierced her ears from the adjacent thick woods!
"Help!! Help!! Keep back, demon!! Release Miria!!"
"Release Miria!"
Upon hearing this desperate call, Lia invoked utmost concealment before veering her flight path directly toward the origin of those yells and appeals for aid.
[A demon... miasma's disruption clouds things, so I can't confirm if the help cries are real or a ruse, unable to sense anyone else clearly beyond that demon...]
"Trap or not, I need an aware being to divulge info on this dungeon... a demon will suffice..."
"I merely need to seize it and flood it with purifying divine spirit magic to force out all its knowledge..."
[Um... phrasing it that way paints you as a deranged antagonist...]
At those words, Lia arched her brows and shot back with a grin,
"Only now realizing I've been a deranged villainess from the start?"
