Reborn as an Extra Chapter 613: Lia’s Adventure Begins! Part-2.

"Battling a peak S-rank dragon... That’s something I’ve never tried... I’m curious about how it’ll feel..."
[Don’t be foolish, with your present power, you couldn’t handle a regular S-ranker, much less a dragon...]
[If that stoic fellow were here, I’d feel at ease, but you’re alone now; avoid acting rashly...]
[There’s a line between practice and charging headlong into danger...]
"Tch, you’re such a buzzkill..."
As she bantered with Kai, Lia equipped her spirit armor, enveloping her whole form in potent spirit magic that boosted every resistance to its peak.
With the miasma hanging thick in the atmosphere, Lia realized she couldn’t afford a moment’s lapse; she’d witnessed Rio wield miasma up close, understanding its strange and erratic nature.
Underestimating such a force was a grave error, so Lia swiftly armored up and maxed out her resistance against miasma.
Her silver armor gleamed under the glow of spirit magic, while her golden cape shifted to silver as the magic cloaked it, billowing in the breeze.
Through spirit magic, Lia redirected the surrounding mana flow to evade detection from any mana-sensing attempts.
Employing the divine spirit’s blessing, Lia quelled the elemental disturbances around her, ensuring no one could spot her via the ripples from her abilities.
Via the Divine Spirit blessing, Lia minimized her mana pulses, aura, and overall presence to the utmost, making it hard for others to sense her.
’Having a super sneaky boyfriend must’ve rubbed off on me somehow...’
Lia had observed Rio employing akin methods to merge with his surroundings and vanish, inspiring her to craft a spirit magic variant of it.
A divine spirit user could be viewed as a lesser mage, since they harness various divine spirit blessings to mimic magical outcomes.
And paired with an SS-rank divine spirit like Kai, Lia could pull off feats beyond even mages’ reach.
"My foresight and instincts aren’t alerting me to threats, so it should be safe to press on..."
As she dialed down her presence and slipped into stealth, Lia soared further into the interior.
In flight, she deployed spiritual sense to probe the vicinity, skirting obstacles while continuously searching for hints.
Maintaining a steady pace in the air, Lia spotted a thicker concentration of miasma flow in one direction, along with rising flames and smoke from there.
’A fight happening in that spot?’
[Go low... actually, better to land and proceed on foot to investigate... I don’t detect strong auras close by, so this chance to uncover leads...]
Following Kai’s advice, Lia agreed with a nod, dropping to the ground and touching down amid the thick forest.
Though the landscape was rough and irregular, navigating it posed no challenge for an A-ranker like her.
"Not a single bug or tiny creature around... definite proof of nearby miasma-involved combat..."
Since fragile beings like insects and common animals fall easily to miasmic taint, an uptick in miasma density wipes them out locally.
Spotting no minor lifeforms signals heavy miasma presence or a recent miasma-fueled clash that eradicated them all.
After trekking a bit, Lia reached a vast open space in the woods, apparently carved out by intense fighting, evident from the shattered tree bases and wood chunks strewn about.
The earth lay charred and dark with web-like fissures, littered with rubble all over.
Yet that wasn’t the standout feature of the scene.
What truly stunned Lia was the heap of bodies piled high!
The stench of miasmic decay wafted everywhere, and without her spirit armor’s helmet, Lia might’ve been overwhelmed by the foul odor.
Among the fallen were demons, beasts, and even humans, but the real shocker was the presence of Elves in that gruesome stack.
[Three distinct races gathered like this... incredibly odd... I wonder what went down here...]
[Their forms are terribly torn and damaged, plus they’re deeply corrupted...]
Examining the injuries on the remains, Lia’s gaze sharpened beneath her visor as she assessed.
"Looks like assaults from some avian monster... it pierced them with its beak and yanked out their innards..."
[What?... How can you be certain? I can’t even make that out from these gashes...]
In response to Kai’s query, Lia shook her head and answered in her steady tone,
"I’m not claiming absolute certainty... just that I’ve researched those monsters’ attack patterns and traits..."
"Plus, only a beast would strike at humans, elves, and demons alike, ignoring all ethics..."
"Certain avian monsters tend to hoard their prey in piles before relocating to safer spots..."
[So you mean... a formidable bird monster could arrive anytime and attack us if it spots us...]
"Exactly, it’s likely... the thing might already be heading our way..."
At the mention of "monster," the small golem on Lia’s shoulder trembled, but her spirit magic soothed it.
[Should we bail?]
"Nah... I’m keen to gauge the strength of this dungeon’s typical monsters... I’ll pull back if it overpowers me..."
A grin crossing her lips, Lia drew her sword and prepared for the clash.
