Fiona preferred that the two monarchs suffer a lingering, agonizing end rather than a swift death, ensuring they would burn for some time before the end came.
"Uwaaaaah S- Stoppp it!!" the pair shrieked, collapsing and thrashing across the floor in unbearable torment.
The instant they attempted to suppress the flames with their mana, the fire only flared higher, consuming their energy like fuel and intensifying the agony.
Soon, the entire hall echoed with the piercing wails of the two monarchs. Despite their status as formidable lords, they were utterly powerless against the Undead mythic Halo.
Every witness trembled, the sight of the redhead's power searing itself into their memories.
Amidst the screams, the rhythmic, wet sound of constant slapping continued to ring out.
Fiona and Vanessa felt a sense of grim satisfaction; in their eyes, they were still being merciful to those who had dared to insult their man.
Maeve, Yasmine, and Diana shifted their gaze toward the fishmen army, who were desperately scrambling to conjure escape portals.
However, the entire Ford realm had been completely sealed.
"You are all here to support Art Yates?" Sir Giant stammered in disbelief. Though he possessed great strength, Yasmine alone was more than enough to overpower him.
Furthermore, how many lords had congregated here now?
Beyond the five women, at least ten other lords were stationed among the gathered armies.
"Yes," Yasmine answered before casting a sharp look at Shen. "I will deal with you later. I heard you tried to attack Art just now."
"I- It was a misunderstanding…" Shen felt a cold dread as the murderous intent of the three women locked onto him.
"Tyler, it has been a long time. You seem to have grown quite a bit, haven't you?" The dragoness turned her attention to the king of the fishmen tribe.
Naturally, Tyler recognized her instantly. He had encountered her long ago, back when she had effortlessly defeated his father.
"N- No, I just came here to offer my congratulations. Now t- that I am finished, we shall take our leave." Tyler turned to flee, but the portals refused to manifest.
"Damnit, what are you doing? Open it right now! Weren't you doing it fast enough just a moment ago?" the king roared, glaring at his subordinates.
"It is futile. Escaping this place is now impossible. Besides, with the meager capabilities of your fishmen tribe, I doubt you could have uncovered this information on your own. So tell me, who informed you about her?"
Yasmine interrogated him, while Diana and Maeve hovered silently at her side, poised to strike at a moment's notice.
"N- No one, I simply stumbled upon it by chance," Tyler replied, his body shaking.
"You aren't very convincing. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you refuse to speak. I will simply extract the information from your corpse. It would be a good chance to test a new skill I recently acquired."
Yasmine spoke coldly, raising her hand and pointing it directly at Tyler.
Down on the ground, after several minutes of excruciating torture, the monarchs of two of the most influential families had perished.
Two lords were snuffed out just like that, and their souls were devoured shortly after.
The onlookers were paralyzed with fear at the result. These were leaders of two of the five great families, yet they had been rendered completely pathetic.
On the other side, the several hundred men were weeping even as they continued their self-flagellation. Their cheeks were shredded, and blood stained their garments.
It appeared they would not cease until their very skulls were shattered.
Now that the chaos had subsided and things were under control, Vritra turned his attention back to the ceremony.
"Can you just hurry up? Finish this, and I will even assist you in strengthening your family," Divine's voice echoed.
Vritra smirked. He had intended to proceed anyway, but additional rewards were always welcome.
'Oh right, I am marrying your sister, so as her brother, shouldn't you be offering us a special wedding gift?' Vritra inquired, swirling the wine within his glass.
"Fine, just don't stall any longer," Divine remarked, rolling his eyes. Vritra was certainly opportunistic and knew exactly how to exploit the situation.
In the sky, Tyler was terrified by the dragon empress and quickly spoke while retreating behind his soldiers.
"I- It was the Twilight who helped me. They told me everything and even assisted us in entering this realm."
'No wonder that Red's subordinate was lurking here. Are they attempting to kidnap her as well?' Yasmine mused, glancing toward Vritra, only to detect something amiss beneath the altar.
"Again, cheers, my bride," Vritra declared, then decelerated the flow of time for everyone except himself, Teresa, and the priest.
The pair lifted their glasses and finally sipped the wine, the initial bitterness giving way to a lingering sweetness.
After swallowing the liquid, they returned the glasses to the tray. Within heartbeats, a warm sensation spread through their frames.
The priest hurriedly asked,
"Vritra Arclis and Teresa Ford, do you accept each other as husband and wife, whether in good or bad times, always loving and supporting one another?"
Vritra utilized Nihil Anima to compel the priest to utter his true name, though neither Teresa nor the priest himself realized the change.
"I do," Vritra stated first, waiting.
Following a short silence, Teresa replied, "I do."
It was the first time Vritra had heard her voice.
'Even her voice is stunning. Back on Earth, no one could rival her if she chose to be a singer.'
[You have formed an Eternal Bond with the Stealer of Fate, Teresa Ford!]
[You have obtained the Title: Husband of Fate Reaver!]
"You two are now wed. I wish you a long and prosperous life together," the priest announced, exhaling a sigh of relief. Finally, the task was done.
Without a second's delay, the priest turned and bolted for his life. This environment was far too volatile.
Teresa bowed and spoke in a low, mature voice that sounded like honey, "My lord… please take care of me from now on."
Vritra was slightly taken aback by her formal address, but he didn't mind. She would learn in time.
He also needed to transform her. How could his wife remain so submissive and delicate?
But that could be dealt with later.
Time returned to its natural pace. Vritra had already perceived the shifts beneath the altar, which was the very reason he had manipulated time.
Regardless, he was now a married man and could participate in the upcoming conflict.
"Hubby!!" Yasmine cried out, but she quickly relaxed, remembering that Vritra was a demigod.
The Twilight could wait no longer. Their original plan had been to use Tyler to create a diversion and abduct Teresa in the confusion.
However, due to the intervention of the five women, their scheme had crumbled, leaving them with no choice but to use brute force.
A barrier suddenly materialized around Teresa, resembling a cage.
Simultaneously, a surge of destructive energy erupted beneath the ruins of the altar, powerful enough to slay even a general.
The bride felt the shifting energies. Though she was blind, her heightened senses allowed her to perceive more than most. Even so, she could not experience the world as others did.
Vritra sighed. It appeared the Twilight would soon be eradicated. They had committed the ultimate blunder by targeting his wife.
Every other observer realized the depth of the trap. Sir Giant and Shen surged forward to rescue Vritra and Teresa, but they were already too late.
