NTR: Mommy Will Help You! 282. Why Are You Trying So Hard to Make Me Mad?

Rebecca stepped out in a form-fitting blue cocktail dress, apologizing to Oliver and Emma for the wait before they departed the apartment. Astonished by Oliver's sleek sports car, she flushed at his playful suggestion of being her sugar daddy, though she quickly denied it. As they drove, Rebecca reflected on her family's hardships and her deep gratitude toward Oliver for funding her father's treatment, nearly tearing up until he reminded her to celebrate. Upon arriving at the lavish Grand Royal Restaurant, they were escorted to a private eleventh-floor dining room, where Brenda and Sarah greeted Rebecca warmly, congratulating her on graduating and thanking her for past kindnesses.

At the same time, Ron sitting beside Sarah felt a wave of unease washing over him.

He'd anticipated issues the moment Oliver suggested bringing his mother, Maya, along, and with the icy glares they were exchanging now, it was evident things would escalate quickly.

Yet, spotting Oliver grasping Emma's hand and settling her onto his lap, Ron swallowed hard and directed his eyes toward Maya.

'Damn! How will she respond?'

Meanwhile, Brenda caught sight of her mom Linda's anxious face. She rolled her eyes in exasperation and shook her head. 'What made you behave like a possessive girlfriend? See the mess you're in now!'

All present were immersed in their private musings and eager guesses about the unfolding events.

Oliver, though, with Emma perched on his lap, paid no heed to the tension, relishing the gentle wriggling of her plush rear against him.

Before long, Maya's patience snapped; she shot Oliver a furious stare and snapped sharply, "What is this!? You drag me here and act like I don't exist!? Do I mean nothing to you!?"

Linda beside Maya wore a frown of irritation too. "See how folks transform once they've got extra ladies in their life... Treating us like we're irrelevant now."

Rebecca remained confused about the situation, yet the room fell silent following Maya and Linda's outbursts.

She and the others fixed their gazes on Oliver, curious about his response.

After sipping some water, Oliver set the glass aside and addressed Maya in a relaxed voice, "Hmmm, I've changed? Perhaps... but that doesn't excuse someone with an existing partner from hitting the bars and gatherings nightly, does it?"

He then faced Linda and continued in the same laid-back manner, "The same applies to a lady attempting to portray me as a cheater merely because my focus wasn't solely on her."

Having spoken, Oliver drew Emma nearer by encircling her with his arm, encouraging her to nestle against him. "Understand, I prefer females free of envy, capable of managing their emotions without freaking out over unknowns."

"So, inform me, my dear teacher, will you prove to be that type of woman, or merely another tiresome diva?" He tacked on teasingly, yet his tone revealed underlying gravity.

Emma grinned, leaning her head his way, her lips grazing his neck. "Naturally, I'm not like those foolish girls who rage over trivial matters... provided you hold me thus or continue showering me with cash, feel free to overlook me and toy with me as you wish..."

Oliver laughed softly at Emma's reply, lifting his hand to tuck her hair back, then tracing his tongue along her earlobe prior to murmuring, "Indeed, you're the ideal sort of lady to keep nearby... not like certain ones who paint me as the bad guy."

Maya and Linda stood stunned, absorbing Oliver's offhand dismissal directed at them.

Since their prior encounter, Maya anticipated an apology and efforts to win her favor anew, but the reality proved far different.

She found herself clueless on how to react or respond right then.

Linda appeared equally adrift, as Oliver ceased acknowledging her, devoting himself entirely to the stunning educator.

Their complexions drained of color while Maya and Linda exchanged helpless glances, wishing the other might intervene.

Regrettably, shock rendered them incapable of more than staying mute.

In time, tears welled in their eyes, and their lips trembled as they suppressed sobs.

Naturally, Oliver observed this clearly.

Observing the pair of gorgeous ladies teetering on tears, he sighed and relaxed his grip on Emma.

He rose from his seat and strode assuredly toward the duo.

Positioning himself directly before them, he rested his hand upon Maya's face, softly stroking it.

The instant Oliver's fingers met her skin, Maya shut her eyes, savoring the soothing heat of his touch.

Linda experienced the like, her breathing catching as Oliver's free hand lifted her chin, guiding her gaze to meet his.

"You both... why push to anger me? Wasn't it plain I didn't mean to slight you? Still, you responded that way... Truthfully, a simple embrace and plea for forgiveness upon my arrival would have spared those words... Yet you complicated it. Now tears threaten you both... Come on!"

Thus, Oliver drew them in, draping arms over their shoulders, one per side.

"Rather than complicating matters for us all, why not express your emotions candidly... Isn't that easier?"

Cheeks flushing hot, Maya and Linda absorbed Oliver's words.

They recognized his logic, acknowledging their role in the escalation.

A warm reception without incident would have sufficed, but initial fury and aloofness prompted his counter.

"I- I'm... sorry." Maya whispered shyly, averting her eyes, mortified by her actions.

Linda shared the sentiment, though she compelled herself to face Oliver. "I'm sorry as well, Oliver. We erred... forgive us."

"Hmmm..." Oliver beamed broadly, tugging them tighter, their bosoms molding to his chest. "Now that's improved."

Next, he planted kisses on Maya’s and Linda’s cheeks in turn, then murmured tenderly, "Naturally, I'm apologetic for my remarks and for vanishing on you both. It wasn't deliberate, okay? Circumstances led there... Shall we put it behind us? The night promises enjoyment still!"

"Yes..." They chorused, clinging to Oliver firmly, each pecking his cheek before cooing affectionately, "Thank you."
