The general steps through a portal onto a floating asteroid housing an enemy base, accompanied by five hundred warriors from demons, Ferans, and insectoids. As alarms sound and phantoms, abominations, and traitors surge forth, he ascends and utters 'Freeze,' halting all motion across the base in an instant. With a second command, 'Erase,' the frozen enemies crumble to dust, their essence absorbed as he leaves troops to secure the site. Returning briefly, he moves to the next target, while his allies launch simultaneous assaults, swiftly dismantling the Hollow Star strongholds across the galaxy.

The relay station floated silently amid the emptiness, secured to a broad chunk of shadowy stone that was originally an ordinary asteroid until Hollow Star etched its facilities into it. In the middle loomed the recognizable dark spire that signified almost every one of their outposts, a tall slanted edifice reaching skyward like a lance pointed at the heavens. Surrounding it were various shorter edifices packed with machinery, living quarters, and supply zones, all linked by slim metallic paths that adhered to the rock's rough terrain.

Within the spire, operations proceeded with the consistent beat of daily procedures.

The circular command room high up featured lines of control panels, each operated by overseers from diverse species who watched over the transmission lines tying this station to the broader grid. Information flows danced on see-through displays while signals throbbed via the mechanisms enabling Hollow Star to synchronize its efforts spanning numerous stellar realms.

In the room's heart positioned the Eternal tasked with supervising the station.

The display for signals stayed empty.

Once more.

His digits drummed the panel leisurely.

"Why isn't Abor replying?" he inquired, not looking back.

A supervisor, a Feran hailing from a fox clan, promptly bowed his head.

"We're trying to reestablish the link."

"Twenty minutes of trying," the Eternal responded icily. "Those efforts seem fruitless."

The Feran gulped yet persisted in his tasks, his talons darting swiftly over the panel.

Yet another overseer, a bug-like expert positioned close by, chimed in with a cautious voice.

"Interference might be affecting the transmission sequence. The grid spans vastly, and interruptions can happen."

The Eternal at last swivelled his gaze.

"Interruptions don't hit several lines at the same time."

Silence enveloped the chamber.

A number of the supervisors traded worried looks while they kept operating the panels. Sequentially, they tried to reach Abor once more, yet the lines stayed mute.

The Eternal's tolerance was evidently wearing thin.

"I called for additional task directives," he stated deliberately. "Those orders ought to have reached us already."

The Feran supervisor bobbed his head anxiously. "Yes, they should have."

"But none have arrived."

"No..."

The Eternal gazed at the panel for a few moments before pivoting aside.

"This station's purpose is to uphold ties with Abor," he declared evenly. "Should that bond sever, I'll check the matter myself."

The supervisors glanced upward in shock.

The Eternal moved from the panel and headed to the room's outlet. As he advanced, a Phantom stationed by the entrance straightened up, its ethereal shape overshadowing the supervisors.

"You," the Eternal commanded, gesturing at it.

The Phantom inclined its warped cranium.

"Oversee this station in my absence. Alert me right away if contact returns."

The entity dipped its head wordlessly.

With no more words, the Eternal departed the command room and started navigating the spire's inner passages, observing the activities on every level and the labor occurring there.

Minutes passed before he stepped out from the spire.

The Eternal proceeded steadily to the gateway dais situated not far from the spire. The round apparatus shimmered softly with its mechanisms engaged, prepared to ferry staff back to Abor as required.

He had crossed half the dais when the gateway abruptly ignited.

The glow burst outward fiercely, fanning over the circle in a vivid rush of power.

The Eternal halted.

No visitors were anticipated.

The gateway burst forth with radiance as a colossal shape emerged from it.

Ragnar emerged akin to a plummeting peak.

The colossal fighter touched down with a resounding thud on the dais, the surface fracturing a bit beneath his bulk as his gigantic build rose upright. His hide bore a subtle luster of toughened sinew, and an immense cudgel lay casually over one shoulder like it was featherlight.

Trailing him, the gateway kept shining.

Dozens of troops started emerging, then hundreds followed as the diverse force flooded the rock.

Demons.

Ferans.

Insectoids.

The Eternal's gaze sharpened.

"What does this signify?" he questioned sharply.

Ragnar beamed widely.

"Well now," he boomed, his tone resounding over the rock. "This doesn't resemble a welcome gathering."

Additional troops fanned out in his wake as the gateway at last faded.

The Eternal examined the enormous fighter positioned ahead.

"Member of the Order Of Absolute," he uttered frostily.

Ragnar set the cudgel down with a solid thump.

"Yes," he answered brightly. "And we're present for destruction duties."

Numerous Phantoms surged ahead from adjacent buildings the instant the alert mechanisms triggered.

Ragnar's smile broadened.

"Ah good," he remarked. "I feared this might turn dull."

No more words passed as the Eternal ordered, "Attack."

The initial Phantom darted before Ragnar.

Ragnar swung the cudgel offhandedly.

The tool struck the Phantom's plated form during its rush, and the collision blasted its frame into shards that flew over the dais like broken rock and floating deathmist.

He chuckled.

"Oh that felt good."

Further Phantoms streamed from close structures as the troops behind Ragnar pressed on to confront the guardians. The rock exploded into conflict as power discharges and blade clashes reverberated through the outpost.

The Eternal advanced amid the turmoil, deathmist starting to swirl about his form.

"You will rue this invasion," he declared.

Ragnar faced him with clear joy.

"Nope. Not happening."

His frame swelled abruptly.

Sinews bulked up, skeleton elongating as Ragnar permitted his stature to grow. His elevation doubled, then extended further till he towered as a colossal behemoth over the fray. Thirty feet tall.

The cudgel he held appeared vastly bigger.

"You seem robust," Ragnar stated gleefully. "Let's put it to the test."

The Eternal fired a ray of deathmist at him.

Ragnar ignored evading the strike and brought the cudgel down. The might of the blow pulverized the ray, and the resulting blast ripped over the dais, flinging close guardians to the ground.

Ragnar bellowed in mirth.

"That's more like it!"

He thrust ahead with alarming velocity for his scale, the cudgel crashing toward the Eternal. The Eternal dissolved into a puff of vapor, rematerializing a few paces distant as the hit demolished the dais under Ragnar's blow.

Yet Ragnar had spun already.

His laws flowed potently through his frame as silvery energy amassed near his appendages.

"Let's see how long you last!"

He rushed once more.

The Eternal sent forth yet another assault, but Ragnar merely pushed through it, the cudgel pounding into the Eternal's flank with devastating might. The hit flung the entity over the dais and into the side of a proximate edifice.

Ragnar pursued without pause.

The edifice crumbled as he barreled inside and brandished the cudgel anew.

The Eternal tried to reconstitute from vapor, but Ragnar seized the partial shape with one huge grip.

"Got you."

The cudgel lifted.

Then descended.

BOOM!

Once more.

BOOM!

Once more.

BOOM!

The Eternal's form burst apart from the force, breaking down into dispersed bits of fading deathmist.

Ragnar peered at the debris and lifted his shoulders.

"Huh," he grumbled. "That one shattered quicker than I thought."

The skirmish raged on nearby. The monstrosities had at last stirred, departing the hollow where they clustered and storming over the rock in a chaotic surge of deformed figures and talons. Ragnar's sight scanned the combat zone and swiftly fixed on the phantoms initially.

He scoffed.
