Suspended above the ruined moon with bound captives, the protagonist reunites with Silver, who arrives with more unconscious figures from a similar hidden base. They deliver the traitors to Lyrate in the capital city, where the protagonist receives a surge of notifications: multiple level-ups reaching 487, nullification of a major Hollow Star contract granting 5 million merits, and additional points from destroying abominations and facilities, totaling 8 million. Knight reports that the planet Abor, deep in the Core Sector, was faked as destroyed and concealed in an asteroid belt with illusions, serving as a central hub for breeding abominations, portal networks to other enemy sites, and strategic meetings among traitors.

"How distant is that asteroid belt?" I inquired of Knight.

He gave a subtle shake of his head. "I don't know the precise distance, but it's quite a ways off from our location. Why the interest? Planning to investigate it?"

I gave an affirmative nod. "Indeed. I've been considering a trip there to observe how they're employing this illusion field to conceal the planet."

Space warped next to us before he had a chance to say more.

Lyrate materialized. A gentle, pleased smile graced her features.

"I possess the information you seek," she announced.

Silver cast a quick look her way and gestured indolently at the knocked-out traitors sprawled close by. "We figured as much. Plus, we've captured additional individuals for your questioning."

Lyrate's gaze drifted to the prone bodies nearby, and she offered a brief approving nod.

"What discoveries did you make?" I questioned.

"All of it," she responded casually. "Including his preferred meals, though I'll skip those particulars. What specifically interests you?"

"Ways to locate their remaining outposts," I stated promptly.

"The solution to that is straightforward," she explained. "You've undoubtedly noticed the teleportation circles dotted across this metropolis. They serve as your pathways. Every one leads straight to a different outpost. That's the method they use to sustain their web of connections."

She shrugged nonchalantly, like the revelation was plain as day.

"Additionally, the primary administrative structure houses special portals that connect right to the central hubs of the key races—Nagas, Ferans, Elementals, Demons. However, they rarely employ them. It heightens the chance of being spotted."

"It seems straightforward," Knight remarked.

"Getting to their central hubs initially proved the real challenge," Lyrate countered. "They depended on System safeguards. After obtaining those, they became sloppy in this area."

She crossed her arms relaxedly. "Regarding the total count of outposts, it's seventy-two altogether."

"Seventy-two," I echoed. "Excellent. So there's just a single action required next."

"Initially, we retrieve Aurora and the rest to this spot. Next, summon Primus along with his demon troops. We seize control of each of those outposts and set up our dominance within them."

My eyes turned to the distant skyline, where a subtle violet glow from the modified heavens still faintly persisted.

"This grants us instant entry to the galaxy beyond. Forget aimless hunts. No more pursuing phantoms. We exploit their existing framework."

Knight nodded resolutely. "Solid plan."

Silver's wings rustled faintly behind his back while a smirk lit up his countenance. "Rather than tracking them through the stars, we claim their chart as our own."

"Precisely," I agreed. "And we wield it versus the Eternals and the fissures proliferating across the cosmos."

I breathed out steadily and lifted my palm. "Hold on briefly."

Shutting my eyelids, I delved into the fresh power I'd gained from enhancing my talent.

[Sovereign Link]: You obtain ongoing, subtle insight into your summons and can concentrate to share their viewpoint firsthand. A soul bond ties you to your summons, enabling the shift of your consciousness into theirs.

I decided to concentrate.

The bond strengthened right away.

My consciousness surged ahead, like an entity had pierced my essence and tugged me down a tight corridor. For an instant, I anticipated merely viewing through Ragnar's gaze, merging his sight with my own.

Rather, my surroundings transformed entirely.

I found myself amid a woodland.

Towering trees loomed nearby, their trunks shadowy and sleek, foliage rustling without any breeze. The soil underfoot seemed tangible, covered in decayed foliage and yielding dirt, though the locale carried a subdued quality, as though it hovered just beyond true existence.

A disturbance stirred the atmosphere, and Ragnar emerged at my side, coalescing from a dim glow.

"What brings you here... wait, how did you arrive?" he queried swiftly, his stare sharpening as he scrutinized me.

"And this location is?" I shot back, pivoting gradually.

"You're in my soul space," he answered.

"Your soul space?" I echoed, truly taken aback.

He dipped his head affirmatively. "Correct."

I glanced at my body below, then scanned the woods once more. My outline appeared somewhat see-through, borders less defined than normal, my essence less substantial. My physical self wasn't present. I manifested as an image, a piece of my spirit taking form within Ragnar's personal realm.

Realization crept in slowly.

The Sovereign Link went beyond mere observation. It permitted intrusion.

Since I could draw Ragnar out via our connection, it followed that I might venture in, to the domain tied to his Null Core and linked to my spirit.

"Alright," I remarked shortly after, "if I can pull you to my realm, then visiting yours is fair game."

Ragnar fixed his gaze on me briefly, then gave a slight head shake. "You're unbelievable."

"Regardless," I pressed on, setting aside the environment temporarily, "what's your group's location right now?"

"We are..." Ragnar hesitated, his face altering as he extended contact via their means of exchange. "Uncertain. I'll consult Aurora."

He quieted, eyes distant.

The woodland stayed motionless around us. Lacking bird calls or animal stirrings. It was indeed an artificial internal domain, molded by his thoughts and core.

Moments later, Ragnar blinked and turned his attention back to me.

"We're in no particular spot," he stated. "Floating aimlessly in the emptiness."

"Floating," I reiterated, creasing my brow a bit.

"Affirmative. Traversing between sectors. Without a set anchor."

I pondered it quickly. "Inquire about the nearest prominent planet to your present whereabouts."

Ragnar inclined his head and quieted anew.

The interval stretched further this time.

At last, he uttered, "The nearest key world is Zaraboom. It's a domain of elements."

Zaraboom.

I sifted my recollections. A world of elements implied dense surges of raw elemental forces, prone to chaotic areas, and perhaps the Elementals themselves. It wasn't arbitrary.

I nodded sharply. "Fine."

Ragnar cocked his head a touch. "What for?"

"I'll return shortly," I responded plainly.

Prior to his further words, I pulled back my consciousness.

The woodland melted into a surge of brightness and feeling, and the tug inverted. My senses jolted back to my corporeal form in Abor's capital. The purple heavens, the fractured terrain, the company of Silver, Knight, and Lyrate resumed with sharp detail.

I lifted my lids.

Lyrate observed me intently. "You vanished momentarily," she noted.

"Experimenting with a fresh feature," I answered steadily. "Is there a portal linking to Zaraboom?"

Lyrate's brow furrowed a little at the name Zaraboom, her gaze flickering as she recalled her gleaned knowledge.

"Affirmative," she confirmed soon. "There's an outpost close to Zaraboom. Not directly on it, but in the identical sector."

She lightly folded her arms while elaborating. "Zaraboom qualifies as an elemental world, packed with density, volatile in certain zones. Nearby lies a wild planet and several lesser settled worlds, mainly bug hives and assorted small races. The whole group creates an enclosed sector encircled by various advanced systems. It's tactically valuable."

"How many hollow star outposts exist there?" I queried.

"Two," she answered. "Each set to oversee the sector and regulate portal entry."

I nodded decisively. Sufficient.

I faced Knight. "Employ one of the portals to proceed to the outpost by Zaraboom."

His features grew keen at once. "Got it."

"Upon reaching it," I went on, "raze the outpost. Utterly. Ensure no survivors remain."

He bowed his head slightly.

"Subsequently, secure a vessel there and proceed to Zaraboom proper. Retrieve Steve and the others to this place."

Knight nodded solidly. "Consider it handled."

I directed my look to Lyrate. "Any outpost near Primus's world?"

She required little deliberation now. "Indeed. A single one. Situated after two leaps, concealed along a relay path."

"Excellent," I noted. "Utilize that portal. Travel there, then connect with Primus in person."

Her gaze tightened faintly with comprehension. "You seek his presence here."

"Correct. Escort Primus and his demon legions. Relay the circumstances to him. Should he desire to arrive with his troops, that's acceptable; if he prefers solo arrival to evaluate first, that's fine too."

Silver observed quietly, his wings tucked back, yet a smile played on his lips as he grasped the magnitude ahead.

"We assemble the group here initially," I proceeded. "Afterward, we devise the comprehensive assault."

Knight's eyes steeled. "Every one of the seventy-two."

"Every one of the seventy-two," I affirmed. "Simultaneously."

Doubt had no place anymore.

"Reports of this incident have already gone out," I stated evenly. "Though the planet's signals got severed partway, the pair of lunar installations kept sending. Some entity beyond knows trouble brewed."

Silver crossed his arms. "Thus, we act prior to their bolstering."

"Spot on," I responded. "Deny them opportunity to rally. Prevent shifting their nurseries or erasing traces. We hit all outposts at the same instant and transform them into our strongpoints."

Lyrate nodded deliberately. "That'll disrupt their whole web."

"Which is the intent," I declared.

I regarded them one by one.

"Time is scarce. Depart immediately." The pair faded away in unison, Lyrate hauling the insensate captives along.

Silver lingered by my side a beat more, then chuckled briefly.

"Seems we're through with mere responses," he observed.

"True," I answered, eyeing the purple vault over Abor. "Now we push forward."
