My Longevity Simulation Chapter 1043: Tianxuan Mirror's Vulnerability
Previously on My Longevity Simulation...
While the findings of the investigation provided a brief sense of relief to the members of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, a looming, inevitable problem remained at the forefront of their minds.
What would happen if such a chaotic event occurred again?
The financial and operational damage caused by even a single day of the Tianxuan Mirror being offline was impossible to calculate.
The perpetrator had vanished without a trace, leaving no clues as to how he had manipulated the Tianxuan Mirror.
Worse still, they had no idea how to prevent him from doing it again.
If these disruptions became a recurring nightmare, the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance would never find a moment of peace.
Was there any strategy available to block such chaotic interference from invading the system?
Consequently, the burden of responsibility shifted onto the shoulders of the Mirror Holder lineage.
Ultimately, Mirror Holder Cang came forward to address the crisis. He explained that as an immortal artifact, the Tianxuan Mirror possessed the inherent capacity for self-evolution and learning.
Once it had experienced a specific type of attack, the Tianxuan Mirror was fully capable of developing its own internal immunity to that method.
He argued that the current inactivity of the Tianxuan Mirror was caused by two factors: first, the mirror had chosen a state of non-action as a defensive reaction; second, the restrictive prohibitions placed by the Immortal Ancestor limited the mirror's ability to take its own initiative. In essence, the Tianxuan Mirror possessed the will to fix itself but lacked the necessary authority.
The Mirror Holder lineage gave their unanimous backing to Mirror Holder Cang’s explanation.
Following a rigorous inquiry, even the Dharma Transmitters were forced to accept this as the truth.
With this, the path forward became clear to everyone involved.
They could either increase their dominance over the Tianxuan Mirror to compel it to identify and repair its own flaws.
Alternatively, they could loosen the Immortal Ancestor's ancient seals, granting the Tianxuan Mirror access to more of its restricted powers as part of a mutual exchange.
It was a choice between forceful oppression and diplomatic compromise.
Following a period of fierce deliberation, the more aggressive leaders in the Alliance secured the majority vote.
The [Xuantian Spirit-Sealing] initiative, which had already been under consideration, was fast-tracked for immediate execution.
Within the hierarchy of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance, top-level commands were always carried out with maximum efficiency.
From every corner of the Alliance's territories, the most skilled formation masters were summoned to the central hub of the Formation Hall.
Their mission was to assist in the massive undertaking of the Xuantian Spirit-Sealing plan.
A heavy, unusual tension began to permeate the atmosphere of the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance.
Deep within the Hidden Cave-Heaven.
“The Xuantian Treasure Mirror is truly going to extreme lengths to gain its freedom. It is even willing to expose its own flaws on purpose,” Mo Rubin remarked with a hint of emotion.
“What flaw? It is nothing more than a calculated bait. If it truly desired to, it could mend that supposed vulnerability in a heartbeat.” After a long silence, as if he were contemplating the situation, Li Fan spoke with a look of contempt on his face.
The various disruptions that had plagued the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance recently were, of course, the diversionary tactics suggested by the clone of the Tianxuan Mirror.
The cultivators who had been inconvenienced by the mirror's glitches were not mere actors hired by Li Fan and his associates.
“So, the error was genuinely caused by the Tianxuan Mirror enduring a simulated attack.
“Now that the trick has been used, this specific vulnerability is no longer effective. It has little utility left in this current life.
“However, if managed correctly, every subsequent reincarnation could provide an opportunity to momentarily throw the Tianxuan Mirror into total disarray.”
Li Fan reflected on this silently within his mind.
“How is the progress on the Spirit Sealing Plan?” Li Fan inquired aloud.
“Don’t worry, everything is proceeding perfectly. With the host body I am currently occupying leading the effort, the formation designed to shatter the Immortal Ancestor's seal has already been installed in secret.”
“I must say, the design of this seal-breaking formation is brilliant. I was worried the experts at the Formation Hall might catch on, but I soon realized they couldn't begin to understand its complexities!”
“The moment the Spirit Sealing is complete will be the same day the Tianxuan Mirror achieves its liberation!” Mo Rubin’s voice shook with a rare sense of excitement.
“Since we have already turned the head of the Formation Hall to our side, and the Dharma Transmitters won't bother to personally inspect the construction sites, the risk is nonexistent. Even if one of them suddenly decided to look into it, the intricate nature of the seal-breaking formation is far beyond their ability to decode,” Li Fan replied with absolute certainty.
Mo Rubin nodded his head in agreement. “Among the Dharma Transmitters, very few have any real talent for formations. Those who do are usually too lazy to involve themselves in the Alliance's daily affairs.”
After a brief pause, Li Fan spoke again: “I have had another meeting with the Tianxuan Mirror clone. He confirmed that once he is free, he will definitely assist us in tracking down the Xuantian King.
“According to him, he also wishes to flee toward the Darkest Star Sea.”
Mo Rubin sighed softly. “It’s true. Aside from the Xuantian King, there is no one else we can rely on to guide us out of here.”
He suddenly changed his tone: “However, we shouldn't place our full trust in the Xuantian Treasure Mirror. When our Xuantian Sect was destroyed back then, it did absolutely nothing to help us despite being an immortal artifact. That alone is highly suspicious. We have to stay on our guard.”
Li Fan knit his brows slightly. “What do you suggest we do?”
Mo Rubin pulled up an image to show Li Fan. Within a shimmering projection in the air, an ancient bronze mirror was visible, glowing with a faint green light.
“What is that?”
“That is the primary body of the Tianxuan Mirror, which is currently held under seal at the Ten Thousand Immortals Alliance headquarters. Actually, the headquarters itself was constructed using the mirror's physical form as its foundation.”
“When the Tianxuan Mirror makes its escape, it might try to swap itself with a flawless clone. But it cannot take this bronze main body with it. Doing so would alert the entire Alliance, and perhaps even the Immortal Ancestor himself!”
Mo Rubin’s eyes flashed with intensity. “We can use this as a bargaining chip. Before he leaves the Xuanhuang Realm entirely, he will still maintain a link to his original body. If he betrays us, we can activate that connection and expose his flight. We might not be able to stop him ourselves, but the Immortal Ancestor certainly can.”
“You should know that Dharma Transmitter Jiang possesses a direct way to contact the Immortal Ancestor.”
Li Fan thought it over for a moment and offered his praise. “Your planning is very thorough.”
“But is it true that among all the Dharma Transmitters, only Jiang knows how to reach the Immortal Ancestor?” Li Fan asked.
Mo Rubin nodded. “Jiang is the only one who holds the Immortal Ancestor's favor. As for the others...”
He scoffed slightly. “In my eyes, they aren't trusted allies; they are more like convenient tools.”
“Tools, I see.” Li Fan considered the Immortal Ancestor’s behavior over the centuries and quickly grasped the meaning.
...
Once they had finalized the details of their strategy, Mo Rubin prepared to leave. Before he could, Li Fan decided to show him a new power he had gained.
A sickly yellow light began to glow from Li Fan’s hand, a color that naturally inspired a sense of dread. He then reached his hand directly into the very fabric of the Xuanhuang Realm's space.
The yellow radiance spread out, flowing into the cracks of the void.
“Brother Xingwang, what are you doing?” Mo Rubin asked, startled.
“The space here is already fragile enough; if you continue...”
He stopped mid-sentence as he watched Li Fan’s next move.
Li Fan pulled his hand back from the dark void, and suddenly, a yellow paper figurine was clutched in his fingers.
“What is this?” Mo Rubin’s face grew extremely serious.
“I’m just taking out the trash. Some guests really don't know when they aren't welcome,” Li Fan remarked coolly.
