My Longevity Simulation Chapter 1029: The Distorted Dao of Heaven
Previously on My Longevity Simulation...
Li Fan kept these internal reflections hidden from Master Qiaogong.
He simply called forth another Calamity Body to remain by his side, intending to use it as the foundation for Tianyang’s new puppet shell.
With these two accounted for, only a single Calamity Body remained within Li Fan’s primary form, and even that one was only halfway to completion.
The elaborate setup established by the True Immortal of Salvation and Mortal Compassionate had functioned for eons, yet it had produced only this meager harvest.
This scarcity served as a testament to the extreme rarity of Source Power essence.
Overjoyed by the acquisition, Master Qiaogong prepared to depart with the golden calamity body in his possession.
Just then, Li Fan inquired about the duration required to construct a solitary Immortal Puppet.
The response caused Li Fan’s features to momentarily stiffen.
“I anticipate that a decade is the absolute minimum,” Master Qiaogong admitted with a hint of hesitation.
“It could very well take longer. Since this is my debut attempt at refining an Immortal Puppet, I cannot guarantee the timeline with any certainty.”
His eyes shifted away, failing to meet Li Fan’s stare.
“Ten years…”
“I wonder if this lifetime will afford me enough time to witness the completion of this Immortal Puppet.”
Li Fan gave a small shake of his head and sent Master Qiaogong away.
It appeared that whenever a matter involved the realm of Immortality, the necessary time investment multiplied by hundreds or thousands.
This pattern held true for the simulations of the Final Dissociation Disc and the efforts to dismantle the seals left by the Immortal Ancestor.
Naturally, this did not imply the Immortal Ancestor had truly achieved the Immortal Realm. Instead, Li Fan could detect operational signatures and traces within those seals that mirrored Immortal-grade formations.
“It seems the Immortal Ancestor also held a legacy from the Immortal Realm. However, forced by the lack of immortal spiritual energy, he had to forge a unique path of his own.”
Li Fan mused aloud.
Upon reflection, it was logical. The Tianxuan Mirror itself was an Immortal Realm treasure.
How could restrictions capable of binding an Immortal Artifact be merely mortal in nature?
Based on Li Fan’s current knowledge, only a handful of individuals possessed genuine Immortal inheritances: the Xuantian King, the Grand Mage of Heavenly Capital, and now, almost certainly, the Immortal Ancestor.
Throughout the vast history of the Xuanhuang Realm, these three might be the only ones to ever hold authentic Immortal legacies.
This scarcity existed only because a mysterious disaster had struck the Immortal Realm, resulting in the collapse of the Path of Immortal Ascension.
The Xuantian King and the Great Mage of Heavenly Capital had simply stumbled upon the remnants of those legacies by luck.
Had that catastrophe never occurred, the mortal world likely would never have seen a True Immortal lineage at all.
In a standard Cultivation world where the paths to ascension remained open and the Immortal and mortal planes communicated, such an anomaly would never have manifested.
“To put it another way,” Li Fan whispered grimly, “the mere existence of this situation… explains a great deal.”
...
The chasm between mortal and immortal was as wide as the distance between heaven and earth.
Theoretically, once the Final Dissociation Disc and the Dao Deviation Stone finished their respective evolutions, shattering the Immortal Ancestor’s seals should have been instantaneous.
However, when Li Fan actually made the attempt, he discovered a grueling process—like an exhausted horse collapsing halfway up a steep peak.
Though he felt as if he were a mere breath away from unraveling the seal entirely, the progress of the Final Dissociation Disc remained stagnant regardless of how long it ran.
“So this is how an Immortal seals a thing.”
“While All Spirit Return to Numbers and Flowers Bloom in an Empty Room are both Immortal-grade formations, they provide no useful context for this specific problem.”
“Brute force decoding via the Dissociation Disc is my only option.”
Li Fan gave an internal sigh. While keeping an eye on the Disc’s progress, he shifted his attention elsewhere for the moment.
During this period of waiting, Li Fan began to contemplate methods to rapidly harvest the Marrow of Heaven and Earth.
He anticipated that when the Faceless True Immortal and the Immortal of the Fallen Ruins finally clashed, the window of opportunity for him would be incredibly small.
Perhaps it would last only a single heartbeat.
Following his previous strategy, maximizing his gains required him to simultaneously harvest the life transformation of [The Xuanhuang Realm will undergo great changes] while gathering the power needed for his own breakthrough to the Soul Transformation realm.
With the Tianxuan Mirror’s essence inside him, Li Fan could access many of the Ten Thousand Immortal Alliance’s restricted archives. These contained the documented experiences of various cultivators who had reached the Soul Transformation True Monarch rank.
Harvesting a transformation of heaven and earth was usually a slow, painstaking task. Li Fan had once watched Zhang Zhiliang absorb the shifts of the Congyun Sea to reach Soul Transformation; it was clearly not an overnight feat.
If a single “Transformation of Heaven and Earth” was that difficult, the difficulty of handling hundreds or thousands was unimaginable.
The only relevant precedent Li Fan could recall was Mr. Bai, who had once pulled countless Spirits of Heaven and Earth into himself in a flash. That technique was known as “Misconversion.”
Typical cultivators sought Soul Transformation with extreme care, as tapping into the marrow of heaven and earth invited inevitable heavenly retribution.
Yet, if one functioned as an avatar of the Heavenly Dao itself, then heaven would not strike down its own requirements.
“Misconversion… to see it is to see me…”
Li Fan suddenly thought of the technique used by Dharma-transmitter Jiang.
A spark of insight hit him. Seizing the moment, he consumed several Enlightenment Pills.
Vivid memories of his past Cultivation and his realizations regarding the Dao flooded his mind. He recalled the moment the Heavenly Dao Mr. Bai descended through his Holy Embryo, noting every tiny alteration that had occurred to the embryo and his own being.
Every specific detail was reconstructed perfectly within Li Fan’s mind.
It was fortunate that the Dao Deviation Stone had recently evolved; its previous middle-grade state would have crumbled under such intense mental strain.
“Indeed. My own negligence allowed the Heavenly Dao Bai to exploit my Holy Embryo for reincarnation.”
“But from a different perspective, the vessel of the Heavenly Dao Bai was originally my Holy Embryo. Essentially, it is another version of myself.”
“He merely occupied it.”
“The avatar of the Heavenly Dao is me…”
“I am the avatar of the Heavenly Dao…”
Li Fan’s eyes shone with increasing intensity as his thoughts raced. Like a man possessed, he whispered those two phrases over and over.
To any observer, it would look as though Li Fan had succumbed to Qi deviation. Yet, his consciousness was actually sharper than it had ever been.
“Just as I once used the Canghai Pearl to observe the shifting killing intent of the world and mastered the Formless Killing Intent ability.”
“Since the Heavenly Dao Bai was born from my Holy Embryo, I have been fortunate enough to inhabit the same form as the Heavenly Dao itself.”
Li Fan’s vision seemed to bypass the sky of the Spiritwood Realm, reaching all the way to the Xuanhuang Realm.
He remembered the countless lives he had observed through the Tianxuan Mirror and the various shifts of the Xuanhuang Realm he had seen throughout his many lives.
All these epiphanies gathered in his heart.
A strange, profound aura began to radiate from Li Fan.
He entered a state of deep enlightenment, his body becoming as still as a statue.
Time lost its meaning.
Just as he reached the cusp of full realization, Li Fan suddenly snapped awake in a panic.
“No. My goal is not to actually become the avatar of the Heavenly Dao.”
“I only want to borrow the Heavenly Dao’s power.”
“That was a narrow escape…”
Despite his formidable mental strength, cold sweat drenched his back.
Had he truly solidified a connection with the Xuanhuang Heavenly Dao and intentionally triggered that transformation, it would be a state that even the [Truth] might not be able to undo.
While [Truth] could rewrite the world, it could not change Li Fan’s essential self.
“It is a relief I came to my senses in time.”
