My Celestial Ascension Chapter 874: Against The Grup Of Gods

Previously on My Celestial Ascension...
Yuan experienced another vivid dream, witnessing the "Evil God" battle the Celestial Emperor's elite "Heaven's Mandate" forces before receiving a cryptic warning. Upon waking, Mireya announced her abdication as Queen of the Elven Kingdom, intending to hand the throne to Elaris. However, the High Heavens then dispatched a large force to the Elven Kingdom, prompting Yuan to prepare for conflict.

Anna Grace rose from the sofa at once, her gaze fixed on Yuan with a gentle smile as she inquired, "Do you want our help?"

"No need. I’ll take care of this myself," Yuan answered, a smirk playing on his lips. He added, "You all should stay here and watch the fun through your Divine Sense."

"Are you sure about this?" Emma questioned, her expression clouded with worry as she moved closer to look into his eyes.

"I’m completely sure." Yuan gave a nod and a smile before stepping outside.

Upon exiting the palace, he ascended into the firmament, a faint grin remaining as he locked his sight on the colossal eagles circling the kingdom above.

Every god was vigilantly monitoring the streets and open areas. They gripped their weapons with intensity, braced for any development.

In an instant, Yuan materialized above them, standing mid-air as he surveyed the gods mounted upon the massive birds.

"Shall we start attacking the kingdom? We’ve already waited long enough, and that mortal still hasn’t shown his face," complained one of the gods, his patience wearing thin.

"Wait a few minutes. Don’t you think it’s strange that no one has made a move yet?" the commander remarked, his expression grave.

"What strange thing are you talking about, Lord Corvan? I haven’t noticed anything odd at all," replied another god, looking bewildered.

Corvan let out a soft sigh and gestured toward the city below. "Look. There isn’t a single soldier patrolling, no troops rushing out even though they know we’re here."

"I’ve fought countless battles... and I can clearly sense that something is wrong," he noted with a grim look.

Following his observation, a heavy silence descended. The atmosphere grew thick, laden with a terrifying weight that caused everyone to shiver.

"Absolutely. There is definitely something wrong... but it’s too late for you to realize that."

Suddenly, a voice echoed from above, a sound that made their hearts hammer against their ribs like violent drums.

Everyone looked up immediately, their eyes widening in shock to see a man standing calmly in the sky.

The moment they registered his presence, the surrounding air turned oppressive, as if an unseen weight was crushing their lungs.

"H-How is he able to stand in the air like that??" one god stammered, utterly paralyzed by shock.

"Is he using some kind of magical artifact to stay suspended like that?" another god whispered, filled with confusion.

"T-This is impossible... not even the God King is capable of doing something like this..."

"Just what kind of trick is he using to stand in the air like that?!"

"I refuse to believe he’s flying! He must be using some cheap trick to fool us all!"

The gods murmured amongst themselves, their stunned whispers spreading like a wildfire as each person tried to rationalize the sight.

Despite the initial jolt, Corvan managed to stay composed, though he was deeply curious about how Yuan remained aloft so effortlessly.

’What kind of technique is he using to float like that? Could it be an ancient artifact? Something from the Blank Era we still can’t decipher?’ he wondered, his sharp gaze inspecting Yuan from head to toe.

’I wonder how long he’s been watching us from above... we didn’t sense his presence at all!’ he shouted internally, shaken by the thought.

Nevertheless, Corvan had his dignity to maintain. As the commander chosen by the God King himself, he could not let his subordinates witness his agitation or doubt.

"How long have you been watching us?" Corvan asked with a facade of calm, doing his best to stifle his internal panic.

"Even before you arrived... the moment you approached this kingdom, I was already watching you," Yuan answered casually, his posture radiating absolute confidence. "After all, you made quite the ruckus on your way here."

"What?! That’s impossible!!" the other gods yelled, their eyes bulging with disbelief.

"You’re spouting nonsense! There’s no way you were watching us the whole time!!"

"If you want to fool someone, fool those lowly mortals! We’re gods! Your ridiculous words won’t deceive us!"

The gods barked at Yuan, completely unwilling to accept his claim. To them, it was preposterous. A mere human sensing their approach from such a distance was unthinkable.

After all, even gods were not omniscient. In their eyes, Yuan was speaking pure drivel.

"So, what was the reason for you idiots to surround the Elven Kingdom? Why did you come here?" Yuan asked steadily, showing no trace of fear.

"I’m glad you asked, otherwise I would have crippled you before dragging you back to the Palace of Divinity!" Corvan declared with a broad grin, tightening his hold on his massive axe.

"Is that so?" Yuan laughed softly, before his gaze turned frigid. "So I was right all along... you fools did come for me."

"That’s right," another god added with an arrogant smirk. "You might as well surrender willingly. If you refuse, I can’t promise you’ll remain in one piece."

"Oh? Bold words for a mere ant like you. Tell me, where does your confidence come from?" Yuan asked, raising his hand horizontally as a faint smirk appeared.

Suddenly, a minor tremor rippled through the air as space distorted around Yuan, and the Empyreal Oblivion appeared in his hand.

The gods were stunned by the sheer magnitude of the weapon. They stared in awe at the gargantuan blade, which was as tall and bulky as Yuan himself.

A surge of spiritual energy flared from the sword, throwing the giant eagles into a panic. They beat their wings frantically, shivering in terror as they sensed a lethal threat.

Observing the eagles' fright, Yuan’s smirk grew wider. The beasts clearly recognized the overwhelming aura of the blade, which was enough to petrify them.

Meanwhile, a cold shiver ran down the spines of the gods. The moment the sword was summoned, the air vibrated, followed by a suffocating and unsettling silence.

"W-What kind of sword is that?! I’ve never seen anything that huge!!"

"Even though I can’t sense mana from it, it’s still scaring me!"

"Isn’t it too heavy?! How is he holding it with one hand?! A sword like that should be impossible to wield!"

"And its craftsmanship... it’s breathtaking. It looks more like a divine treasure meant for display rather than a weapon meant to kill."

Several gods stammered in disbelief, their voices filling the sky, while Corvan—the commander—stared at the blade with a dark expression.

Based on his experience, he could sense that this sword had been through countless wars and was soaked in the blood of many.

Just looking at it made his heart race, thumping in his chest as if screaming at him to run away.

’Is it the sword that’s dangerous... or this man as well? I can’t tell at all...’ Corvan thought, sweat beading on his brow as the crushing tension gripped him.

"Since you share the same intentions as the two idiots before you... don’t blame me for wiping you all out from this world..." Yuan stated coldly, and in the following heartbeat, he vanished.

Corvan’s face froze as Yuan disappeared before his eyes in a flash. He entered a state of high alert, drawing upon decades of combat intuition.

However, the other gods appeared confused and shocked, thinking Yuan had run away.

"Look at that bastard. He ran away with his tail between his legs after all that arrogance!"

"Indeed. All bark and no bite! Laughable for a mere mortal!"

"Hahahaha!!"

Laughter rang through the sky as most of the gods mocked Yuan for his sudden disappearance.

"These idiots..." Corvan hissed under his breath, a feeling of dread seizing his heart. He had no clue when or where Yuan would strike.

In a blink, Yuan appeared in front of one of the giant eagles, his sword held high, prepared to drop a catastrophic blow on the bird and its riders.

"It’s time to die..." Yuan said with a wide grin as a wave of Spiritual Energy surged from his frame.

"One Sword, One Strike..." Yuan whispered, and the blade immediately emitted a terrifying aura, shining with a brilliant blue light.

Corvan’s eyes went wide as he realized Yuan was targeting his squad, panic washing over his features.

"WATCH OUT!!!" he bellowed, his voice cracking with desperation.

But it was too late. Yuan had already swung his sword, launching a massive sword arc at the squad with incredible velocity.

"What the—" Before the gods could react, the sword arc struck the eagle, and the gods upon it were gone in an instant.

The giant eagle was sliced perfectly in half, and the two gods riding it were also cut down. The remaining four gods plummeted from the sky along with the bird's remains.

The momentum of the attack carried the sword arc forward until it crashed into a distant mountain, obliterating nearly half of it with a thunderous blast that resonated throughout the kingdom.

Boom!! A violent shockwave ripped through the air as the sword arc erased nearly half of the distant peak.

The power of the strike left the gods paralyzed, their eyes wide with shock as they stared at the decimated mountain.

It was like watching a miracle occur—something as impossible as the dead rising.

"Aaaghh!!" The four gods cried out, beginning to crawl on the ground as many of their bones were shattered from the violent impact.

They all began coughing up blood, suffering from severe internal injuries and experiencing a level of pain they had never imagined.

Corvan witnessed the scene in total shock, his eyes bulging and his mouth hanging open.

"W-What the hell just happened?!" one of the gods cried out, unable to process what he had seen.

"H-He... what kind of magic did he use in that attack? Why didn’t I sense any mana from it?!"

"Me too... I didn’t sense anything besides a chill down my spine... for a moment, it felt like the world stopped."

Rapidly, confused and skeptical whispers traveled among the gods, every one of them floored by Yuan’s display.

"You bunch of fools! What are you waiting for? Kill that bastard now!!" Corvan screamed at the top of his lungs, his eyes burning with fury as he glared at Yuan.

"We’re waiting for your command, Lord Corvan... you didn’t say anything, so we haven’t acted yet," one of the gods answered in an odd tone.

",,," Corvan was speechless; his mouth opened and closed, but no words came out as he struggled to respond.

’Fools! Every one of them is completely useless! Why did His Highness choose them for such an important task?!’ he screamed in his mind, gnashing his teeth in irritation.

"Since I have now given you the order to attack, why are you still not attacking him?! Do you want him to kill more of us?!" he yelled once more, his voice dripping with rage and frustration.

After taking a deep breath, he pointed his massive axe at Yuan and shouted, "Kill him!! Now!!"
