MIGHT AS WELL BE OP Chapter 1013: Insanity
Previously on MIGHT AS WELL BE OP...
"Should we begin the last battle?" Klaus inquired calmly, directing his dark gaze at the Older Generation without glancing at the Younger one.
Everyone nodded in unison; indeed, there was no point in prolonging things or squandering more moments.
Rain watched with a heavy heart. He realized Aura Nova was up next. She had barely triumphed over Sky Kingsley in her initial clash; afterward, defeats had piled up in every subsequent fight. Rain trusted Aura Nova’s innate talent and combat skills deeply, which made him agree without pause when she asked to join him at the Galactical meeting.
He’d believed she could overpower all opponents effortlessly, yet it turned out his perspective was too narrow, and these youths were practically bending the rules. A sigh escaped him as he hoped Aura Nova might pull off a victory here, even though he recognized how absurd that hope truly was; still, a sliver of optimism lingered in his mind.
Though he didn’t grasp the full scope of Aura Nova’s Omniedit power, surely one of her Commands could secure the win, much like the one she’d employed against Sky Kingsley.
’If only she could deploy that, victory would be hers for sure,’ Rain thought to himself. He had figured out that Aura Nova possessed a vulnerable delay, a brief window from activating her ability until it took effect. Rain longed for Aaaninja to grow overconfident and overlook that opening; he desired Aaaninja’s recent power surge to inflate his ego into recklessness.
Should anyone overhear Rain’s inner musings, shock wouldn’t follow. He barely knew Aaaninja; why concern himself? Aura Nova was his daughter, so it felt natural to root for her triumph despite the overwhelming disadvantages.
Yet, a grin spread across his face too, because once this duel concluded, Aura Nova would retreat into intense isolation for training, and upon her return... those straightforward victories her foes had claimed would vanish forever.
Mitchelle just waved cheerfully at Anthony, beaming with pride over her extraordinarily powerful son, whose incomprehensible techniques surfaced in every bout. Meanwhile, Michael wore a broad smirk, knowing that post this match, he’d face off against Klaus next.
Klaus addressed Aura Nova and Aaaninja, saying, "We won’t require the heads display any longer; both of you head down and await my cue."
Aura Nova and Aaaninja nodded briefly before disappearing from their spots. Aaaninja couldn’t resist shooting a final look at Klaus; despite attaining the Apexus Mana Rank, he sensed deep down that challenging this man was beyond him.
He materialized in a barren desert setting, positioned several meters from Aura Nova, eyes alert, demeanor composed, as any vanity or hubris Rain imagined from his power upgrade was nowhere to be found.
Aura Nova held her poised, assured smile; her string of losses against nearly all didn’t faze her in the least. She’d simply circle back later to seize her due.
"Begin," Klaus’s command sliced through the atmosphere as he signaled the start.
Aura Nova wasted no time; no point in clashing with weapons or lesser Commands. She leaped directly into her supreme Command.
Omniedit: Command: Root Access Mode.
The phrase escaped her mouth smoothly, a spark of astonishment crossing her features since she’d anticipated Aaaninja halting her activation, akin to Lucian’s interference, but Aaaninja hadn’t moved... exactly as Rain had hoped.
’Hit the mark, that’s my daughter,’ he exclaimed inwardly as a broad grin lit up his face. Yet instantly, the grin faded, replaced by sheer astonishment and confusion. He wasn’t alone; Aura Nova froze in total stunned silence.
The reason?
Her Omniedit ability had simply failed to work.
Much like Kingsley’s attempt to nullify Aura Nova’s Omniedit via the Law Defiance Field, which wiped out all energies including Mana, Aaaninja had pulled off a comparable yet distinct maneuver.
Aura Nova’s Omniedit depended strongly on Mana, marking its sole vulnerability in this regard. Right then, Aaaninja had effortlessly claimed dominion over every bit of Mana in the Separate Plane. Unlike Lucian and Kingsley’s erasure methods, he preserved it; through his ascent to Apexus Mana Rank and the insights flooding his thoughts from linking to the River Of Time to rescue Lucian, Aaaninja’s command over Mana now verged on what could only be described as... .
Aura Nova sensed the Mana in her core; she urged it out, attempted to direct it, but nothing worked. Her Mana rebelled the instant it exited her core. Unlike teleporting beyond Kingsley’s Law Defiance Field earlier, she knew evasion tactics wouldn’t help now. After all, every Mana particle answered solely to Aaaninja at this instant.
Aaaninja advanced steadily with cool detachment, his strength reaching a level grasped only by Klaus, Amara, and Anthony. He existed on another plane entirely right now, and without action from Aura Nova, Lucian, and Kingsley, they’d all lag far behind.
Aaaninja stopped a meter from Aura Nova, their stares locking. Aura Nova’s expression stayed steady, her gaze brimming with unyielding assurance, undeterred by her current impossibility of winning. Her look promised that in their next encounter on the battlefield, defeat would be Aaaninja’s.
Aaaninja remained silent; his hand quivered slightly, and suddenly Aura Nova’s head was severed effortlessly at a velocity she couldn’t track, since she hadn’t even witnessed him unsheathing his sword.
Thus, Aura Nova fell to decapitation, bringing the friendly spar among these extraordinary beings to an end.
