Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2440: 216: Tianyin
Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
“In the previous encounter where the Supreme True Buddha faced a major setback in the Cloud Sky Realm, Tianyin collaborated with the monks of the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm to activate the Ten Thousand Buddha Formation. This effort successfully restrained the Tianshang Buddha Lord and the accompanying Bodhisattvas of the Supreme True Buddha.”
“When we got back, the Tianshang Buddha Lord had already withdrawn after failing to achieve his goals.”
“Indeed, each of the four Mahayana experts from the Four Great Realms possesses unique strengths. Taoist Friend Xiahou is shrewd and deceptive, skilled in shapeshifting, while Heavenly Monarch Chao excels in manipulating forces and taming beasts. I have some proficiency in offensive maneuvers, but Tianyin surpasses all in the Defensive Path. His protective capabilities stand unmatched; even combined, Taoist Friend Xiahou, Heavenly Monarch Chao, and I might fail to pierce his barriers.”
“Yet, the Supreme True Buddha’s power is utterly dominant, far exceeding what we can aspire to. Though we blocked him during that last clash, it drained our very essences, leaving us on the brink now…”
While Wang Ba and True Man Gai navigated the Chaos Origin Substance, observing the Black Realm rapidly expanding before them, they caught True Man Gai’s explanation. Wang Ba registered a touch of astonishment and couldn’t resist voicing his thought:
“How is it possible for Mahayana Cultivators to end up in such dire straits?”
True Man Gai let out a quiet sigh:
“Tianyin is the eldest among us four. He was the one who first suggested probing the Tianshang Buddha Lord’s motives, already bracing for his own end from the start… There are deeper details to this, which he’ll share with you himself, so I’ll hold back for now.”
This revelation left Wang Ba even more astounded.
As their conversation continued, the pair abruptly arrived at the edge of the Black Realm.
From afar, the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm loomed dark and oppressive, yet up close upon descent, a subtle wave of peaceful and calm energy seeped from the shadows, mirroring the essence Wang Ba had once felt from the Reclining Buddha.
Wang Ba instinctively directed his attention toward the Domain.
This Eastern Luli Buddha Realm resembled the other Domains he’d encountered. Peering through its boundary revealed faint shifts in the internal laws.
Sensing the approach of Wang Ba and True Man Gai along with their emanating auras, a silhouette swiftly emerged from the Glazed Buddha Realm and touched down in front of them.
The figure was a monk of ordinary looks, clad in the most basic yellow robe. As he approached and spotted True Man Gai and Wang Ba, he offered a polite and composed bow to True Man Gai:
“Yan Poluo pays respects to True Man Gai.”
The monk’s name diverged somewhat from those under the Supreme True Buddha, prompting Wang Ba to examine him again.
He detected an energy from this individual that echoed cultivators’ yet distinctly varied from the Supreme True Buddha’s monks.
The monk hid nothing, his aura openly displayed, letting Wang Ba approximate his cultivation level—likely on par with Sect Leader Bai.
Inwardly, he marveled:
“Yet another at Tribulation Crossing Perfection.”
“Yan Poluo serves as the current overseer of the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm.”
True Man Gai sent this message mentally to Wang Ba before smiling and nodding, then presenting Wang Ba to Yan Poluo:
“This is True Man Taiyi. He requested an introduction from me to see Tianyin.”
At these words, Yan Poluo glanced toward Wang Ba, giving him a quick once-over, a flicker of astonishment crossing his features. He then saluted Wang Ba respectfully with one hand raised:
“So you are Layman Taiyi; I’ve heard much of your renown.”
Wang Ba quickly reciprocated the gesture, replying courteously:
“Greetings, Master.”
Yan Poluo furrowed his brow faintly and inquired with some confusion:
“I hope I’m not wrong, but I sense a Buddhist aura about you, Layman Taiyi. Have you also studied Buddhist techniques?”
True Man Gai chimed in from the side:
“That’s exactly why he’s here. He’s grasped certain Secret Techniques of the Supreme True Buddha and seeks Tianyin’s counsel.”
“The Supreme Demon Buddha… I see.”
Yan Poluo’s surprise showed upon hearing this; he then stepped back a bit and gestured invitingly:
“Esteemed guests, please come in.”
Without delay, Wang Ba and True Man Gai trailed after Yan Poluo into the Domain.
Differing from the Cloud Sky Realm and similar vast realms, crossing into this Domain revealed no unified Taoist Field inside. Instead, it stretched endlessly, segmented into a thousand minor realms.
Wang Ba showed mild surprise and murmured:
“Is this internal layout what Buddhism calls a small thousand world?”
Yan Poluo’s look toward Wang Ba altered subtly at his remark, and with evident wonder, he noted:
“It appears Layman has truly engaged with Buddhist Secret Techniques, familiar even with our sacred texts.”
True Man Gai, standing nearby, seemed a tad confused and questioned:
“Do these one thousand small worlds hold any particular legends?”
Though asked, Yan Poluo didn’t respond straight away, turning instead to Wang Ba:
“Maybe Layman Taiyi could provide some insight.”
Wang Ba accepted without hesitation, thinking briefly before elaborating:
“It embodies Buddhism’s perspective on the cosmos, earth, and existence.”
He indicated one of the small worlds and continued:
“True Man, notice how this small world splits into The Four Great Continents, centered around Sumeru. Inside The Four Great Continents lie Nine Mountains and Eight Seas plus the Desire Realm Six Heavens, together comprising a small world.”
“A thousand such small worlds form a small thousand world. A thousand small thousand worlds create a Middle Thousand World. And a thousand Middle Thousand Worlds constitute a Great Thousand World… In Buddhism’s view, the universe isn’t split into the Three Great Realm Seas but comprises endless Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds.”
