Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2430: 212: Frightening Soar (Part 2)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
In the skies above Zhang’s Ruins, Wang Ba, clad in azure robes, stands serenely amid the reversed chaos, having overpowered the three Great Bodhisattvas of the Supreme True Buddha. The Northern Great Bodhisattva is captured, leaving the Western and Southern ones retreating in shock, their true forms revealed as they acknowledge his unmatched prowess below Mahayana. Observers from afar, including elders from Cloud Sky Sect and figures from Quiet Cave and Void Demon Realm, react with astonishment, admiration, and shifting strategies, regretting his allegiance elsewhere while recognizing his potential to reshape the balance against the Supreme True Buddha.

Wang Ba arched his brow slightly, his eyes turning sharp:

“What’s going on?”

The Western Great Bodhisattva let out a cold sneer, bringing his palms together to form an odd hand sign!

Right at that instant.

Deep within the Reclining Buddha, thousands of miles distant.

Inside the Six Paths.

The form shrouded in white radiance suddenly experienced a jolt in his core upon witnessing that sign!

A wave of dread crashed over him without delay!

His thoughts shook violently, and in that fleeting moment, he drew back every trace of aura clashing with his guise as the Lord of Six Paths, swiftly pulling away his vision and awareness.

Nearly simultaneously.

Beyond Zhang’s Ruins, amid the emptiness.

The aged silhouette and the gigantic concealed presence in the void both sensed a sudden shock in their hearts, as a keen, stabbing alert burst into their Divine Sense!

Right behind that, Wang Ba, positioned across from the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas, likewise felt a icy chill grip his chest!

A powerful foreboding welled up, sending tingles across his scalp and making his mind quiver!

His mind spun wildly, and the Yellow Dao Domain burst outward in a flash, reaching out to seize the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas.

In that very second, far across countless miles, the Reclining Buddha gradually parted its eyelids.

Its stare bridged endless voids in a heartbeat, falling upon Wang Ba, the Western Great Bodhisattva, the Southern Great Bodhisattva, and the others, before settling firmly on Wang Ba.

Under this intense regard, Wang Ba's entire frame went tense.

The Reclining Buddha lifted its hand just a bit, its digits full and smooth, emanating Buddhist radiance, and from the distance, it pointed lightly toward Zhang’s Ruins…

At Zhang’s Ruins, prior to Wang Ba managing to grasp the Western and Southern Great Bodhisattvas, he instinctively lifted his eyes, catching a trail of gliding light abruptly descending from the heavens.

That light trail, unremarkable and not overly brilliant, raced from the remote void, covering the distance as if in an eyeblink—or even swifter—brushing past.

“It’s the Tianshang Buddha!”

The aged form in the void and the Master of Quiet Cave were quickest to spot the threat.

Their faces drained of color in a flash, communicating nothing, yet moving as one, each thrust out a palm to rip through space, halting the light trail.

“Huh?”

As they lunged into action, Wang Ba perceived it right away, his sight naturally tracking the light trail, watching it smash against them and, upon striking, splinter into innumerable fine beams of light, loosely assembling into a finger shape, speeding straight for Wang Ba!

Despite being thousands of miles removed, despite the shattered light crafting a finger that looked fractured.

Still, Wang Ba's heart seized with a smothering terror of no escape or evasion!

His Primordial Spirit turned faintly, the Land-Parting Staff poised to emerge.

And in that instant.

Within Zhang’s Ruins, the mind concealed in the boundless ‘sea’ seemed to pick up on it, slowly emerging from the rage-filled ‘sea’:

“One after the other, they keep coming to bother me, is there no end to it!!”

The full expanse of Zhang’s Ruins quaked ever so slightly, as though some ancient entity was on the verge of stirring awake…

These quakes escaped notice from either the aged form or the immense presence, yet thousands of miles off, the Reclining Buddha's gaze gleamed with a flicker of shock and vigilance, its demeanor turning solemn, thoughts subtly rippling.

Across boundless distances, the countless light threads appeared set to swallow Wang Ba, only to fan out right then, flaring with intense brilliance.

The glow, resembling a sun poised in the firmament, bathed every soul, severing their awareness.

Wang Ba's eyes narrowed tightly, fighting to pierce the dazzle, glimpsing how the myriad light threads swiftly engulfed all the monks—the Western Great Bodhisattva, the Southern Great Bodhisattva, Shen Fu, the novice monk, and more—and the second these monks brushed the light, they blinked out of existence entirely!

Then the light receded.

In the hush, just the bewildered cultivators stood, plus Wang Ba with his brow lightly furrowed.

“Did they simply depart?”

Wang Ba surveyed the surroundings, finding no sign of any monk, not even the bodies.

His heart weighed heavily:

“Was that finger from moments ago… the Tianshang Buddha's?”

“He didn’t manifest at all, merely pointed from afar, and I couldn’t dodge it!”

“Such is Mahayana might? It’s utterly beyond the same realm!”

“Yet… why spare me, opting to pull back without engaging?”

Wang Ba overflowed with uncertainty and puzzlement, but soon the cultivators' triumphant cries rang out.

“Ruins Master! We triumphed! We sent the Supreme True Buddha packing! Hahaha!”

“The Cloud Sky Realm barely held on in their time, yet we forced back the Supreme True Buddha!”

A few clear-minded cultivators shook their heads, remarking:

“It’s because this wave of monks was far fewer than those who struck the Cloud Sky Realm earlier. The true credit goes to the Ruins Master, who single-handedly withstood three Great Bodhisattvas, even taking one captive—with that kind of power, the Supreme True Buddha’s faction naturally didn’t dare press on. What a waste; had they stayed longer, we might’ve rounded them all up.”

The cultivators boomed with laughter, even the typically dour Cheng Lianzi and his group displayed uncommon smiles.

Nobody had anticipated that the mismatched defenders of Zhang’s Ruins would repel the terrifying Supreme True Buddha.

This feat stemmed mostly from the Ruins Master's appearance, but had they not endured until then, Zhang’s Ruins could have already collapsed.

For all this grand success, Wang Ba's brow creased a touch, holding his silence, before sensing a shift, turning his eyes to the sky.
