Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2424 - 210: Great Rupture (Part 2)

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
The formation in Zhang’s Ruins ignited with fiery light, unleashing multicolored waves and flames that shattered the golden bodies of several Arhats, catching the invading monks off guard and inflicting heavy losses. The Western Great Bodhisattva observed with compassion, refusing to intervene as he viewed the deaths as necessary tribulations for their paths, while Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva descended to confront the emerging figure of Cheng Lianzi, Sect Master of the Laowen Sect. Cheng Lianzi, wielding a formidable fire stone, clashed fiercely with the bodhisattva’s top-grade treasures—a flower basket and pestle—holding his ground with deep cultivation prowess. Below, the masters of Golden Water Pond, Yutang Prefecture, Illusion Sky Realm, and Fan Fenglei watched in surprise at Cheng Lianzi’s underestimated strength, with Yin Tianzhi urging them to join the fray.

Yet, he quickly realized that Zhang’s Ruins served as the final sanctuary for Rogue Cultivators like themselves. Though it left much to be desired, it remained their ultimate haven in the end.

With the Supreme True Buddha refusing to spare even this tiny territory for them, they had no option except to battle desperately for survival.

Upon this realization, as he observed the protective array over Zhang’s Ruins slowly crumbling under the joint assaults from the Arhats, he refused to delay any longer. Turning into a beam of pristine white radiance, he shot upward rapidly, clashing against a Bodhisattva and diving straight into combat.

The sight of Cheng Lianzi and Yin Tianzhi battling with such fierce determination stirred the rest to action.

Suddenly, their figures blurred into motion, becoming rays of light as they rushed headlong at the monks.

Beyond the boundaries of Zhang’s Ruins, the young monk observed the unfolding events with a touch of concern, glancing toward the Western Great Bodhisattva:

"Master, these Rogue Cultivators don’t seem as weak as we imagined."

Upon catching the young monk’s remark, the Western Great Bodhisattva maintained his merciful visage, yet a flicker of astonishment appeared in his gaze while surveying the unexpectedly balanced struggle below, and he responded with mild intrigue:

"We had previously sent people to investigate, and it was said that within Zhang’s Ruins, they fought among themselves like a pile of scattered sand. Even if they were wary of us, they shouldn’t be cooperating so seamlessly. It’s strange, could there have been recent changes?"

Though perplexed, he didn’t show much worry.

Zhang’s Ruins stood as a famous hub for Rogue Cultivators in the area. It could conceal hidden experts, making minor obstacles unavoidable.

Still, this stemmed solely from the Supreme True Buddha’s dismissal of them as real threats. When truly committed, deploying additional forces would allow him to seize it without trouble, he believed.

After brief reflection on the power Zhang’s Ruins had revealed so far, the Western Great Bodhisattva gave a faint head shake and remarked:

"Don’t rush, just watch how they perform."

The young monk observed a bit longer before furrowing his brow and commenting:

"Master, I think this Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva... is somewhat overconfident."

At these words, the Western Great Bodhisattva’s features grew a tad stern, and he chided softly:

"Don’t speak nonsense."

His eyes scanned the Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva locked in combat with Cheng Lianzi. There, he brandished three Buddha treasures, summoning a four-headed, eight-armed Dharma Aspect that unleashed a furious onslaught against Cheng Lianzi, his expression revealing concealed savagery beneath the serene mask, cackling madly without any trace of monastic poise.

A slight crease formed on his brow inevitably, and he murmured gently:

"In public, don’t speak nonsense. If he truly ascends to the position of Buddha Lord in the future, you might face consequences. Best to watch quietly, refrain from talking."

The young monk promptly sealed his lips, but after another glance, he couldn’t resist adding:

"Master, it’s always better to be cautious. Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva is too overconfident, it might lead to complications..."

On this occasion, the Western Great Bodhisattva stood firm, denying with a head shake:

"Rest assured, the overall situation is settled, there won’t possibly be any complications."

While they conversed, as Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva pinned down Cheng Lianzi with three Dao Treasures and his manic laughter still echoed, a rod burst forth from the adjacent void, crashing down with brutal force!

Deep in the fray, Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva found himself utterly unprepared. Though his Protective Treasure Light ignited at once, it shattered in no time, letting the rod slam directly into his brow!

In that instant, the Golden Body at his forehead split open, unleashing a surge of demonic aura.

From the injury on his forehead, fissures spread outward, sparking a brief crimson gleam in Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva’s eyes.

Witnessing this, the Western Great Bodhisattva’s brow furrowed lightly, followed by a sigh:

"How can a future Buddha Lord be so unworthy?"

His attention shifted to the rest, where he saw the other Buddha’s son contenders managing the onslaughts from the cultivators with steady resolve.

They lacked brilliance but committed no errors, prompting a subtle nod from him as he mentally dismissed Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva.

At the same time, the Black Gold Mixed Iron Rod erupted from the void, battering Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva and hurling him backward, while a Demon Ape burst forth from nothingness, gripping a lengthy rod, and pursued him with savage aggression!

As the Demon Ape emerged, the Western Great Bodhisattva, brows drawn together, picked up a faint noise in his hearing, turning his gaze in surprise to the nearby void:

"Northern Great Bodhisattva?"

With no chance for deeper consideration, he watched the ape materialize from the void, brandishing its long rod to hound Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva with unyielding ferocity. Every swing of the iron rod summoned myriad phantom rods through the emptiness, demolishing Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva’s Golden Body right away.

The four-headed, eight-armed Dharma Aspect got utterly pulverized!

Yet, as a Buddha’s son hopeful, Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva proved no ordinary foe, hastily calling upon three Dao Treasures to shield himself just barely.

Noticing this, Cheng Lianzi swiftly invoked a Fire Stone, pressing forward aggressively!

Blazes erupted skyward, compelling Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva to unleash his three Dao Treasures in direct confrontation.

As the three Dao Treasures came into play, the ape hammered away with the iron rod in rapid, merciless blows, giving Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva zero chance to dodge. Within seconds, one of the Dharma Aspect’s conjured limbs snapped under the assault, accompanied only by Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva’s agonized howls.

This brutal assault stunned the nearby cultivators and monks alike.

The Western Great Bodhisattva’s countenance grew somewhat grim, his recent counsel to his new disciple undermined by Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva’s humiliating setback, filling him with irritation. Yet, possessing greater restraint than his fellow monks, he masked his feelings well, keeping a serene face as he whispered orders to those nearby:

"Go and assist Wisdom Calm Bodhisattva."
