Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant Chapter 2301: 167: Restraint_3

Previously on Longevity, starting from being a chicken raising servant...
Sect Leader Bai Lechan of the Cloud Sky Sect intervened in the mental confrontation between Wang Ba and the Eastern Great Bodhisattva, firmly rejecting demands to return seized spoils. Following this display of resolve, Wang Ba returned to the void to face the remaining challengers from the Supreme True Buddha’s side. Despite his exhaustion, Wang Ba’s previous victory over Wisdom Truth left his opponents shaken and hesitant. The final rounds concluded swiftly as the remaining Bodhisattvas, fearing the loss of their own treasures, offered only half-hearted resistance before retreating in defeat.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Wang Ba’s mind; he had been contemplating whether he could exploit the situation to snatch a few more top-grade Dao treasures. Such items would be invaluable, whether he kept them for his own Cultivation, bestowed them upon the Little Cang World, or traded them for Cloud Shells.

However, he suppressed the greedy impulse almost as soon as it surfaced.

One must understand the virtue of contentment. His current acquisitions had already far surpassed his original hopes. To be overly avaricious and reach for more would surely invite disaster. Furthermore, the immense attention he had drawn today clashed with his cautious nature; it was time to retreat into the shadows and maintain a low profile once more.

Despite his internal reservations, a thunderous cheer erupted within the Taoist Field of the Cloud Sky Realm as the Eastern Great Bodhisattva and the assembly of monks from the Supreme True Buddha’s side retreated in stony, humiliated silence.

“Five consecutive duels! Five total victories! Taoist Brother Taiyi is truly unparalleled!”

“I, Ba, am speechless with admiration. I only wish to ask: in the entirety of the Realm Sea, is there a single Crossing Tribulation middle-stage cultivator who can stand as an equal to my Taoist Brother Taiyi?”

“Haha, Taoist Friend Ba, you might be inviting trouble for Taoist Brother Taiyi with such bold claims,” someone remarked, half-joking yet offering a serious caution.

Those who had ascended to the middle stage of the Crossing Tribulation realm were all prominent figures, possessing immense pride and lofty ambitions. Learning that someone had so thoroughly eclipsed them would surely spark resentment.

While those who had witnessed Wang Ba’s prowess were filled with awe, those who had not seen the battles would inevitably form their opinions of True Man Taiyi based on True Man Ba’s exaggerated praise.

True Man Ba, however, dismissed the concern entirely:

“Given Taoist Brother Taiyi’s profound talents, his reputation will surely reach the Mahayana realm in due time. Mediocre men are but fireflies; how could their petty envy ever hope to obscure the radiance of the great sun!”

Upon hearing this, the gathered cultivators found it hard to disagree.

Among the many Bodhisattvas and Arhats of the Supreme True Buddha, only one like Wisdom Truth was truly exceptional.

Since True Man Taiyi stood even above Wisdom Truth, it would be inconceivable for such a genius to fail to reach the Mahayana realm.

Meanwhile, outside the realm, Wang Ba turned to see a youth clad in purple robes. The young man smiled and took the initiative to cup his hands in a respectful salute toward Wang Ba:

“You have labored hard this time, Taoist friend.”

Though Wang Ba usually maintained a stoic demeanor, receiving such respect from a Sect Master of a Great Realm—a man whose status and Cultivation base far exceeded his own—left him feeling slightly overwhelmed. He quickly returned the salute:

“Why does Taoist brother speak so formally...?”

He paused for a moment, then reached into his sleeve to retrieve the six Dao treasures belonging to the Red Bodhisattva.

The moment they were revealed, the treasures began to vibrate violently, attempting to flee. Although Wang Ba had suppressed them within his Dao Domain, they continued to struggle for freedom.

The purple-robed youth watched with a look of confusion.

Wang Ba pushed the six Dao treasures toward the young man, a faint smile on his face:

“These six items are all top-grade Dao treasures. You assisted me just now, and in gratitude, I wish to present all six of them to the Cloud Sky Sect.”

Even the purple-robed youth, a man who had weathered countless storms, could not hide his shock:

“This... you are giving so many Dao treasures to the Cloud Sky Sect!?”

These were not mere upper-grade items, but genuine top-grade Dao treasures!

While a top-grade treasure might only possess one or two more Cloud Bans than an upper-grade one, every restriction added beyond the ninth road resulted in a world-shaking increase in power.

Before the Supreme True Buddha launched its assault on the Cloud Sky Realm, the entire world possessed only a single top-grade Dao treasure, which an ancestor had recovered from a Realm Embryo during a journey through the Realm Sea.

It was only after defending against the Supreme True Buddha that they managed to seize a few more from various Bodhisattvas, all of which were now held by the sect’s most powerful cultivators.

For True Man Taiyi to offer six such treasures at once was a gesture so magnificent that even the Sect Master hesitated to accept.

Wang Ba nodded, adding:

“An extra top-grade Dao treasure might be the deciding factor if we face a truly powerful foe. We are all allies against the Supreme True Buddha. The treasures I already possess are sufficient; holding more would be a waste of their potential. It is better to give them to the Cloud Sky Sect, where they can be put to proper use.”

His sincerity was palpable, and the purple-robed youth felt a wave of genuine emotion.

After a moment of deep reflection, the youth finally nodded. He carefully selected only three of the six treasures from Wang Ba’s hand and said solemnly:

“Your devotion to justice is a true blessing for our Cloud Sky Sect! However, since you obtained these at great personal risk, three are more than enough...”

He paused, looking intently at Wang Ba before continuing:

“Do you have urgent business? If you are free... I noticed that while your Primordial Spirit is vast, it lacks a certain stability. It might benefit you to accompany me to the secluded grounds where our sect’s ancestors dwell.”

Wang Ba had intended to depart and seek out the Wanxiang Sect’s location within the Cloud Sky Realm. However, this offer changed his mind. He looked visibly pleased and agreed immediately:

“In that case, I shall not refuse your kindness.”

The purple-robed youth laughed softly:

“No need for formalities... and later, we shall hold a grand celebration in your honor!”

Beneath the smile lay a newfound sense of camaraderie and trust.

The Supreme True Buddha’s challenge had ended in a total debacle, finally granting the defenders a moment of reprieve.

Nearby, Chen Zhongqi recalled the name Wang Ba had mentioned earlier, etching it into his memory:

“Wanxiang Sect...”

His eyes glinted with thought as he followed them back into the Taoist Field. After finishing his immediate duties, he turned and descended toward the inner world.
