Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8376: Bottom line (1)
Previously on Living In Another World With A Farm...
A sequence of subtle cracking noises reached the bronze man’s ears. Although he was not a living being, the various arrays inscribed upon his frame functioned like human organs. Aside from the absence of pain, he possessed every other sense, lacking nothing that a person could feel.
Consequently, the bronze man detected the sound instantly. Looking up, he noticed that the ants he had previously disregarded were gnawing voraciously at his body. This sight left the bronze man stunned, and his expression shifted. He hadn't anticipated that these insects could actually chew through his exterior. After being refined by Laura and the others, his physical form had become incredibly resilient; finding that these ants could damage it was a major shock.
The bronze man reacted without delay. With a cold snort, a layer of blue mist manifested across his skin. This blue vapor was the very poison Yi Xuanming had utilized earlier. Having absorbed it, the bronze man now turned it back against his foe. It was a maneuver Yi Xuanming likely never expected the bronze man to perform.
As the blue mist spread, the gold-consuming ants began to perish in large numbers. While they possessed a natural resistance to toxins, the poison Yi Xuanming brewed was a refined concoction of numerous lethal substances. Its potency was overwhelming. Though the gold-consuming ants could process some toxins, this mixture was far too concentrated for them to endure. Many were poisoned to death during the clash, a development that caught Yi Xuanming completely off guard.
Yi Xuanming’s face paled at the sight. He signaled for the gold-consuming ants to retreat immediately, but very few remained to answer the call. Heartache filled his expression; nurturing these ants had been an arduous task, and he never imagined losing more than half of them in this place.
Observing Yi Xuanming’s distress, the bronze man understood the impact of his actions and erupted into boisterous laughter. The sound echoed across the battlefield, forcing Yi Xuanming to look up at the automaton. He was surprised to see the bronze man displaying such vivid emotion. He glanced toward Zhao Hai to see if he shared the sentiment, but he was met with disappointment. Zhao Hai’s eyes remained shut as he stood atop the blood lotus, hands locked in a seal, completely motionless.
The bronze statue stared at Yi Xuanming and spoke in a heavy tone, "You believe you are worthy of challenging the Young Master? Kid, your life ends here today." Finishing his sentence, he swung his long saber toward Yi Xuanming. The blade was saturated with killing intent. Though it lacked true saber intent, the technique was unmistakably the Eight Forms of Bloody Battle from the Blood Massacre Sect.
While Yi Xuanming was shocked that the statue could speak, he did not simply wait for the end. He dodged to the side with a confused look, simultaneously forming a hand seal to manifest a curved blade before him. However, as soon as he summoned his weapon, a shadow fell over him. Looking up, he saw that the long blade had transformed into a massive net descending upon him.
Yi Xuanming’s expression tightened. The net was too expansive to evade. Letting out a shout, he gripped his scimitar and merged his form with the blade, charging at the mesh. He intended to slash a hole through the net to make his escape.
A loud "Clang!" rang out as a large tear appeared in the net. Yi Xuanming burst through with his saber, but the moment he emerged, darkness loomed overhead again. He looked up just in time to see a massive copper fist hurtling toward him.
Clang! A violent collision followed, and the punch sent Yi Xuanming’s blade flying. Simultaneously, his arm snapped with a sickening creak. He screamed in agony as he plummeted. He didn't fall into the sea of blood, however, because the huge net was still waiting below. It turned out he hadn't truly cut the net, but the bronze statue itself. The punch had been the true killing blow.
With Yi Xuanming’s arm shattered, the large net easily ensnared him once more, binding him as tightly as a rice dumpling. The assault didn't stop there; a copper wire manifested around Yi Xuanming’s throat. With a swift twist, the wire snapped his neck.
The bronze statue had no interest in taking prisoners or exchanging taunts. If an enemy could be eliminated, it would never leave them breathing. Since Zhao Hai hadn't requested any captives, the automaton finished Yi Xuanming without hesitation. Retracting its hand, the bronze man pulled Yi Xuanming’s body into the net. Rather than discarding the corpse, he stored it away, knowing such remains were valuable to Zhao Hai.
With Yi Xuanming dead, the bronze statue produced another saber and charged toward the army of the 13 Family Alliance. These troops were already terrified by the Bloodsucker team; seeing the bronze giant rushing them caused their morale to shatter completely. Without Yi Xuanming to lead them, they were like a dragon without a head. Unable to hold their ground any longer, they broke rank and fled.
Zhao Hai did not let the chance slip by. He immediately commanded his group to pursue. He kept them from scattering, ordering them to hunt in organized groups. The fleeing cultivators dispersed instantly upon realizing Zhao Hai’s forces were staying together. They hoped to reach an area with stable spiritual Qi so they could use their portable teleportation arrays to escape.
What they didn't realize was that countless Aliens were lurking within the blood sea. They weren't just hiding from Zhao Hai’s main force. Zhao Hai wasn't trying to kill everyone personally; he was scattering the enemy so the Aliens could finish them off.
With nearly 200,000 cultivators present, Zhao Hai had no intention of being merciful. Allowing 50,000 to return was already a significant concession. He intended to wipe out the rest to cripple the remaining strength of the rival sects. Although many sects were involved in this assault, suffering such heavy losses would force some to retreat. Only then would the crisis facing the Blood Massacre Sect truly be resolved.
Zhao Hai gave no thought to whether this slaughter would offend the other sects. There was no point in worrying about it. The Blood Massacre Sect was already at odds with them; after all, their disciples were killers by trade. Offending others was part of their nature.
Once the killing was done, Zhao Hai gathered the Bloodsucker team and returned to Serum Island. Seeing the exhilarated expressions of his team, he smiled and shouted, "Did you enjoy yourselves today? Do you have the stomach for more fighting?"
The crowd responded with fervent cheers, "We do!" Their spirits were high. Thanks to Zhao Hai’s specialized Cultivation technique, they felt no exhaustion. Instead, they were buzzing with excitement and ready for the next clash. Since Zhao Hai was offering another fight, they had no reason to refuse.
Zhao Hai laughed. "Excellent. We’ve scattered the main force. They likely haven't had the chance to report back to Blood Hawk Island yet. We will use the teleportation array here to strike Blood Hawk Island directly from within. If we hit them from the inside, they won't be able to hold. We can use the puppets this time as well, so fight without restraint!"
The group cheered and began to assemble. Zhao Hai looked them over, paused for a moment, and then gestured for the bronze statue to approach. He gave a nod, and the statue understood, shifting its form into a massive Bronze Palace. Zhao Hai commanded, "Everyone, enter the Copper Palace. We depart immediately." Without a word, the team nodded and filed inside. Zhao Hai stowed the palace away and headed for the island's teleportation array.
Since the majority of the combat occurred off-shore, Serum Island remained largely intact. Even the defensive arrays, though breached by the 13 Family Alliance, hadn't been destroyed. This meant all the island's facilities, including the transportation array, were functional.
Zhao Hai stepped onto the array and powered it up. He had already confirmed that the receiving array on Blood Hawk Island was active. While he wasn't sure why the enemy was careless enough to leave the teleportation gates open during a Great War, he recognized it as a massive advantage. He wasn't about to waste the opportunity to spearhead an assault on Blood Hawk Island.
Before leaving, however, Zhao Hai deployed a squad from the Undead race to secure Serum Island. He wanted to ensure the 13 Family Alliance didn't double back while he was busy at Blood Hawk Island. Now that he held the island, he wouldn't let it go. Leaving guards was essential.
For Zhao Hai, the Undead were his most reliable sentries. Once he departed, he ordered the skeletons to lock down the local teleportation array. Only after Blood Hawk Island was secured would he send word to reopen the connection. This ensured the island remained safely in his hands.
Zhao Hai was confident that after this blow, the enemy’s power would be severely diminished, forcing them to remain quiet for a while. This window would allow him to reclaim more islands. He wasn't worried about retaliation; even if they tried to move against him, he had countermeasures. If the enemy dared to deploy an Island Lord, the Sect Master and Great Elder would certainly intervene. The other sects would then have to face the wrath of the top-level experts. This was the boundary Zhao Hai and his superiors had established: at the Western Defense line, no Island Lord level combatants were permitted to interfere. That was the absolute bottom line.
