Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8335: Anger (1)

Zhao Hai successfully completes the Five Ghost Freezing Wind formation by refining five purified spirits into the array eyes. This modification grants the defensive barrier a spiritual intelligence, allowing it to be controlled remotely via a central curved blade. After demonstrating the formation’s immense power—including the manifestation of five massive, armored ghosts—Lei Xuan is so impressed that he asks Zhao Hai to assist in restoring the defensive arrays on other islands across the sect.

Zhao Hai gave a prompt response, “Of course. As a disciple of the Blood Massacre Sect, how could I refuse to assist when the Sect faces such trouble? Rest assured, Uncle-Master, I am ready to depart and help immediately.” He agreed without hesitation. Regardless of the circumstances, he was a member of the Blood Massacre Sect, and it was only natural to offer his support during a crisis. Furthermore, he was assisting the islands in the Western and Northwestern Sea regions, which shared the same defensive perimeter as his own Blood Gale Island. Should he require reinforcements in the future, these islands would be his allies. By granting them a favor now, he was securing future cooperation.

In truth, Zhao Hai felt a certain disdain for selfish cultivators. Being part of a Sect meant you weren't a rogue cultivator; the Sect provided cultivation techniques and resources. In return, as long as you contributed what you found, the Sect rewarded you fairly. To him, that was a balanced arrangement.

He couldn't fathom the logic of those who kept every benefit for themselves while retreating the moment the Sect faced danger. Why would a Sect continue to support such a disciple? A Sect isn't desperate for freeloaders. This was why Zhao Hai looked down on those who only took without giving back; such individuals were bound to be discarded by their organizations eventually.

Selfish people often mistake their greed for intelligence, thinking they are outsmarting everyone. They fail to realize that the Sect's leadership, tasked with managing hundreds of thousands of disciples, is far from blind. If the higher-ups see that a disciple lacks any loyalty, they will stop treating them as one of their own. Expecting endless support without offering anything in return is a fantasy—not even one's own parents would tolerate such behavior forever.

Consequently, Zhao Hai accepted Lei Xuan’s request instantly. He understood that by restoring the mountain-protecting formations for these islands today, he was ensuring that they would owe him a debt of gratitude. If he ever found himself in a dire situation, they would be compelled to return the favor.

Lei Xuan nodded approvingly at Zhao Hai’s response. “Excellent, I am glad you agree. You should head to Blood Bone Island first. Since you already have a good rapport with the people there, you can start by repairing their formation. Blood Bone Island is a vital anchor for our entire line of defense.”

Zhao Hai acknowledged the command and turned back to Lei Xuan. “Uncle-Master, I will set off now. If there are further instructions, please notify me immediately, and I will be there.” Lei Xuan gave a final nod, and Zhao Hai, after a respectful bow, exited the room. He headed straight for the teleportation formation, exchanging polite greetings with the various cultivators he encountered along the path.

Upon arriving at Blood Bone Island via the teleportation array, Zhao Hai took a moment to observe his surroundings. This island was significantly larger than both Blood Wind Island and his own Blood Gale Island. Although it was populated by many cultivators, he noticed they were mostly new arrivals, and an air of palpable frustration hung over them.

As he scanned the area, a sharp voice rang out, “Who goes there? What is your business on Blood Bone Island?” The tone was loud and laced with hostility. Zhao Hai turned to see a cultivator standing near the edge of the teleportation square. This man was also in the Spell Essence Realm, specifically at the third level—slightly higher than Zhao Hai. He appeared to be a Pro-disciple from another island who had likely been stationed here, which explained his bold attitude. Normally, few would speak to Zhao Hai so aggressively, given that his status as a True Disciple was well-known.

Zhao Hai sensed that the man’s hostility wasn't personal but rather a general irritability. He simply smiled, cupped his fists, and replied, “Senior Brother, I am Zhao Hai. I have come to find Senior Brother Yan Bei. Could you perhaps tell me where he is currently located?”

The cultivator was momentarily stunned by Zhao Hai’s politeness. Then, a look of realization dawned on him. He stared at Zhao Hai and asked, “Did you say Zhao Hai? The one known as the weakest Island Lord in history?” Clearly, Zhao Hai’s reputation had preceded him.

Zhao Hai chuckled, caught off guard. “I didn’t realize my fame had spread so far. Indeed, I am that Zhao Hai, the Island Lord with the lowest Cultivation level. I am looking for Senior Yan Bei; do you know his whereabouts?” He wasn't bothered by the title; he wasn't the type to take offense at such trivialities.

Once the man confirmed Zhao Hai’s identity, his demeanor shifted to one of respect. Even if Zhao Hai’s Cultivation was low, he had earned his position through immense contributions to the Sect and was well-regarded by the Elders. It was unwise to be rude to such a person. The man quickly replied, “Ah, Junior Brother Zhao Hai! You seek Senior Brother Yan Bei? He is at the Blood Bone Courtyard in the island's center. Only the Island Lord and Senior Yan Bei reside there. He should be there now; would you like me to guide you?”

“I wouldn't want to impose on your time, Senior Brother,” Zhao Hai said quickly. “I can find my own way. Farewell!” He offered another polite gesture and departed. The man returned the salute, feeling quite pleased. He had expected an Island Lord to be arrogant, but Zhao Hai’s humility left a very positive impression on him.

Ignoring the man's thoughts, Zhao Hai navigated toward the center of the island, asking for directions along the way. He soon reached the gates of the Blood Bone Courtyard. Finding the gates shut and no guards in sight, he felt a bit curious but stepped forward to knock gently.

A voice called out from within, “Who is it?” Zhao Hai recognized it immediately as Yan Bei’s, though it sounded uncharacteristically angry. Zhao Hai wondered who could have possibly provoked his friend to such a degree.

“Big Brother Yan, it’s me. Open up,” he called out. Knowing Yan Bei would recognize his voice, he didn't bother with formalities, speaking with the familiarity of a close friend.

The doors swung open almost instantly as Yan Bei exclaimed, “Little Hai! What brings you here?” He looked at Zhao Hai with genuine excitement. “Come in, quickly! Master was just talking about wanting to see you. Your timing is perfect.”

Zhao Hai entered the courtyard with a smile. “Big Brother Yan, you sounded quite furious just now. What’s the matter? Has something happened?” Given their close bond, Zhao Hai was ready to offer his help if needed.

Yan Bei’s expression soured again as he let out a frustrated snort. “It’s incredibly irritating. Blood Bone Island is the most critical point in our defense line, yet the Formation Hall experts sent by the Sect have ignored us. They are off repairing other islands first while we wait. Everyone here is fuming. Why should they get priority over us? Is our island not important?”

Zhao Hai couldn't help but laugh softly. “Is that all? Perhaps the Sect trusts the strength of Blood Bone Island enough to let it wait. Other islands might be more vulnerable and need their formations restored immediately to survive an attack. Actually, that is why I am here. My Uncle-Master is stationed at Blood Wind Island, and I just finished restoring his formation. He was impressed and sent me here to help you. However, I must speak with Island Lord Gu first. If he doesn’t trust my skills, I’ll be on my way.”

“Hahaha! Zhao Hai, you have some nerve talking about me like that! Do you want me to teach you a lesson? Get in here!” A booming laugh echoed from the main building. Zhao Hai and Yan Bei hurried inside to find Gu Na seated in the living room. Zhao Hai immediately stepped forward to pay his respects.

Gu Na looked Zhao Hai over and nodded approvingly. “Good lad. Xiao Bei has told me all about your exploits. You’ve done exceptionally well. So, you’re here to fix our formation? I’ll have Xiao Bei assist you. If anyone gives you trouble, I’ll deal with them personally. If you need materials, tell me now and I’ll have them prepared.”

Gu Na was a blunt, straightforward man who didn't care for small talk. His immediate offer of support showed he trusted Zhao Hai completely. Touched by this, Zhao Hai replied, “Island Lord, I don’t need much, but I do require a few powerful Dark Souls. By refining them into the array during setup, the formation will become significantly stronger and easier to manipulate.”

“Don’t call me Island Lord. From now on, call me Uncle-Master,” Gu Na corrected him. “Since you are so close to Little North, calling me Island Lord makes us sound like strangers. As for the souls, I have about a dozen high-quality ones on hand. If you need more, I’ll find a way to get them!”
