Lei Gang and his brothers stood together as a brilliant flash of white light enveloped them, causing them to vanish. An instant later, they reappeared amidst the vastness of the Blood Sea. Lei Gang produced his Vajra scepter and entered it; the weapon contained an internal space that served not only as a tool for combat but also as a vessel for transport. Zhao Hai and the other brothers were already gathered within this inner sanctuary.
Upon his arrival, Lei Gang summoned Zhao Hai. Both Zhao Hai and Shen Nanzheng materialized before the three leaders. Lei Gang spoke with a heavy tone, "We have reached the Blood Sea, though I am currently uncertain of our exact bearing. You will accompany us shortly to navigate. Once the rest of our forces arrive, we will begin the operation together."
"Yes, Master," Zhao Hai replied with a nod. Lei Gang acknowledged this before turning his attention to Shen Nanzheng. "Nan Zheng, organize all the disciples within this space. When we deploy, you are to lead their movements. Remember, stay close to Little Hai. While participating in the island battle is optional for you, securing the items within the base is mandatory."
Shen Nanzheng gave his assent. Shortly after, Lei Gang and his two companions escorted Zhao Hai out of the internal space. Surveying the surroundings, Zhao Hai pointed toward the horizon. "Master, it is that way. If we travel roughly a thousand miles, we will reach Blood Shadow Island. I am certain of the location," he declared.
Lei Gang nodded, scanning the perimeter. "We shall wait here for a moment," he said in a deep voice. "We move once the others join us." Lei Bin and Zhao Hai showed no objection to the plan, and the group moved to the side. It wasn't long before flashes of white light signaled the arrival of several more cultivators.
Du Wan Sha led the newcomers, accompanied by Ha Jing. Surrounding them were numerous Island Lords, each wearing a grim, lethal expression. Among the crowd, Zhao Hai spotted Gu Na, the master of Yan Bei. Despite his small stature and skeletal frame, Gu Na exuded a terrifying aura that commanded respect.
Lei Gang and his brothers immediately approached to salute Du Wan Sha and Ha Jing. It was clear that only these two had come to handle Bai Xin personally, while the other Elders remained elsewhere. Two Elders had been dispatched to deal with Yin Wuchang, and the final two remained to guard the Sect. With the Sect Master and two Elders staying behind, the Blood Massacre Sect was secure; their only remaining task was the elimination of Bai Xin.
After the group paid their respects, Du Wan Sha looked at Zhao Hai with a smile. "So, you are Zhao Hai? Your name has reached my ears several times. Young man, you have done well. Your contributions this time are significant, and I shall see to it that you are rewarded later!" It was evident that Du Wan Sha found Zhao Hai quite impressive.
Zhao Hai quickly bowed and expressed his gratitude. Without further word, Du Wan Sha waved his hand, signaling Lei Gang and the others to take their positions behind Ha Jing. Ha Jing gave Zhao Hai a look of approval before Lei Gang stepped forward to whisper a few words to him. Ha Jing nodded, then flew toward Du Wan Sha. The entire group began to advance, concealing their Qi and flying at a measured pace.
Despite their cautious speed, the group consisted of powerful experts and they reached Blood Shadow Island in short order. Du Wan Sha signaled for everyone to halt. With a nod of agreement from the others, the leaders reached out, and various celestial devices appeared in their palms. From these artifacts, a multitude of figures emerged, including Shen Nanzheng and the rest of the disciples.
Once the forces were assembled, Du Wan Sha signaled the charge. They ascended toward the sky, hovering just outside the borders of Blood Shadow Island. The island was protected by a transparent shield, and their arrival did not go unnoticed. The inhabitants below began to scramble in panic, and the island’s alarm chimes echoed through the air.
Suddenly, a voice boomed across the area, "Why the panic? Simply follow the plan we agreed upon!" A figure rapidly approached from the island, stopping a few miles away from Du Wan Sha’s group. He was a handsome man dressed in the robes of a scholar. This was Bai Xin, and he gripped a blood-red long saber that radiated a thick, murderous intent.
Du Wan Sha inspected the blade in Bai Xin's hand with curiosity. He was aware that the weapon was a counterfeit, yet its craftsmanship was startling. Even though it was a fake, it looked nearly identical to the genuine Killing God Blade, a fact that genuinely surprised him.
Bai Xin, meanwhile, stared at Du Wan Sha with a grim expression. "I did not expect the Grand Elder to grace us with his presence," he said deeply. "Is the Grand Elder finally prepared to use the Blood Slaughter Saber against me? Even with that weapon, keeping me here will be no easy feat. Do you not fear my eventual retaliation?"
Du Wan Sha opened his one remaining eye to glare at Bai Xin. "I do," he said solemnly. "Having been in the Blood Massacre Sect together for so many years, I know you well. You are the most power-hungry and cold-blooded of the eight Elders. For that reason, your life ends today!"
Bai Xin replied coldly, "It seems words are useless. Grand Elder, draw the Blood Slaughter Saber. Let us see if your blade truly surpasses my God Slaying Saber!" He raised his weapon, focusing his gaze on Du Wan Sha. Although a protective barrier separated them, Bai Xin knew it would not hold against the Grand Elder’s might.
Du Wan Sha spoke with gravity, "Your greatest sin was sundering the Blood Massacre Sect for the sake of your own greed. That is something I cannot overlook. I would not have stopped you from seeking the position of Sect Master, as that was your own path. But you should never have gone this far. You must die, Bai Xin. Furthermore, I did not bring the Blood Slaughter Saber today. I brought something else." With a flick of his wrist, a long blade appeared in his hand.
The moment Bai Xin saw the weapon, his pupils constricted. He looked back and forth between his own saber and the one Du Wan Sha held. He attempted to flood his weapon with transcendence energy, but as soon as the power touched the blade, it dissolved into a mist of blood and vanished entirely.
Bai Xin’s face turned pale as his weapon evaporated. He hissed at Du Wan Sha, "Was this your doing? Did you steal my blade?" He was stunned that the Killing God Blade had been swapped right under his nose without him ever noticing.
Du Wan Sha looked at him and said calmly, "Allow me to introduce someone. Zhao Hai, step forward." The command surprised not only Zhao Hai but also Lei Gang and Ha Jing. They hadn't expected the Grand Elder to bring Zhao Hai into the spotlight so abruptly.
Though startled, Zhao Hai complied. He flew slowly to Du Wan Sha’s side and bowed. "Zhao Hai greets the Grand Elder." He stood there with a composed expression, showing neither pride nor fear, as if he were merely performing a routine task.
Du Wan Sha’s eyes twinkled with approval at Zhao Hai's calm. He turned back to Bai Xin. "This is Zhao Hai. Surely you recognize the name. He was the one who first uncovered the secret forces being raised by those families. It was his discovery that forced your hand into rebellion. Moreover, he is the one who took the God Slaying Saber from Blood Shadow Island. He resided here for months specifically to steal it from you."
Bai Xin looked at Zhao Hai, noting he was only at the first level of the Profound Art Stage. He sneered at Du Wan Sha. "Grand Elder, surely you jest. You claim this boy stole the God Slaying Saber? With his meager strength, how could he possibly take it from right under my nose?"
Du Wan Sha countered with a cold laugh, "It is the truth. If you doubt it, I will have Zhao Hai demonstrate." He then looked at Zhao Hai with a knowing smile. "Zhao Hai, since he is a skeptic, why don't you show him the truth so he can stop questioning?"
Zhao Hai nodded and turned around. In an instant, his features shifted, transforming him into a handsome but icy young man. He cupped his hands and spoke, "Wu Hao pays his respects to Elder Bai. I have been stationed outside the Copper Palace recently and have witnessed the Elder's presence many times. If the Elder wishes for a demonstration, I shall provide one." Zhao Hai then performed a series of hand seals and shouted, "Forward!" He completed the Sun Seal and pushed his palms outward.
At his command, the Copper Palace at the island's center began to tremble. It rose into the air, its shape shifting from a massive copper structure into a colossal copper sword. The transformation was seamless.
The giant sword then soared from the island, passing through the barrier to settle beneath the feet of Zhao Hai and the others, acting as a platform. Zhao Hai exhaled deeply and turned to Bai Xin. "My apologies, Elder Bai. This is my first time attempting such a transformation, so I can only manage the form of a simple sword. I hope I have not embarrassed myself." With a slight shimmer, Zhao Hai returned to his original form.
Bai Xin was left speechless, staring in disbelief. After a long silence, he finally roared, "Wu Hong!" At his call, Wu Hong flew to his side. "Wu Hong, explain this! How did you not know that someone in your Wu family had been replaced?" Bai Xin’s fury was palpable as he demanded answers for the deception.
