Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8300: Goal (1)

Zhao Hai turned toward Yan Bei with a faint smile. "Why the urgency? We were capable of defending ourselves regardless. Had I constructed the formation too rapidly, they would have gauged my true capabilities. Li Ruohai would have been even more determined to eliminate me then. Staying patient was necessary."
Yan Bei stood frozen for a moment before the realization hit him. He let out a wry smile and fell silent. He finally grasped Zhao Hai's intent; all that time spent laboring over the formation had been nothing more than a calculated performance. He marveled at Zhao Hai’s composure. Throughout that entire period, not a single flaw had been revealed. Even they had been deceived into believing Zhao Hai’s formation skills were merely average. Now it was clear that his mastery was far beyond anything they had imagined.
Laughing softly, Zhao Hai looked at Yan Bei. "Big Brother Yan, don't dwell on it. How could I expose my full power in front of those people? They are our enemies. If we let them see our trump cards, we would be the ones facing misfortune."
Yan Bei nodded in agreement. "I understand. However, you must inform me the next time you pull a stunt like this. Recalling how much I worried for you and how hard I worked alongside you makes me feel quite aggrieved." Yan Bei spoke with total sincerity. Thinking back to his own anxiety, he felt he had been quite foolish.
"Why are you blaming me? If I had warned you beforehand, would your reactions have been so genuine?" Zhao Hai chuckled. "If you had shown any hint of a facade, Li Ruohai would have noticed, putting you in peril. My original plan was to leave while they were weakened from transferring their internal energy. They wouldn't have been able to strike at us. Since Li Ruohai already gave me the battle corpse, he couldn't easily move against us, ensuring a safe exit. I simply didn't anticipate the upheaval within our Sect. I had no choice but to stay and take the risk."
Sighing, Yan Bei replied, "That is true. The chaos within the Sect caught everyone off guard. It was truly shocking. Let’s move past that, though. I trust the Sect's strength is enough to purge those traitors quickly. By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask: why did you collect all those corpses? What purpose do they serve?"
Zhao Hai nodded, his voice turning serious. "Did I not study the corpse refining techniques of the Corpse Demon Sect? I intend to transform those fallen practitioners into battle corpses. I've found that these battle corpses are quite effective, aren't they?" While this was Zhao Hai's stated reason, it was actually a cover to allow members of the Undead clan to appear by his side in public.
Initially, Zhao Hai had gathered bodies to provide flesh for the Aliens to evolve. However, that was no longer required. Since the Alien Poison Nest had advanced, lower-level Aliens could now evolve through the Realm’s genetic methods. Now, Zhao Hai collected the bodies solely to convert them into the Undead race.
Furthermore, Zhao Hai wanted their Dark Souls. Even after death, these spirits persist for a short window. By preserving the remains, Zhao Hai secured their Dark Souls as well. He could then extract their Cultivation techniques to further refine his Golden Lotus Nine Transformations Scripture.
Additionally, those spirits had another vital use: they could be refined into Zhao Hai’s Thousand-Handed Blood Buddha Palm to augment its power. This was his primary goal. Zhao Hai understood that despite reaching the Essence Technique realm, advancing to the Refinement realm would take time. Therefore, he had to boost his combat effectiveness through other channels.
The Thousand-Handed Blood Buddha Palm acted as a growth-type weapon. By continuously refining Yin souls and blood Qi into it, its strength would escalate. It was a highly practical way to increase his lethality, which is why Zhao Hai pursued it. Naturally, he kept these details from Yan Bei, simply stating he wished to use corpse refining techniques. This explanation satisfied Yan Bei’s curiosity.
Upon hearing this, Yan Bei stopped questioning. He simply nodded and said, "I see. If you can truly master refining a battle corpse, it would be a great asset. However, the methods of the Battle Corpse Sect are quite complex. Even with the techniques Li Ruohai provided, reaching their level of craftsmanship will be difficult. Still, it is worth a shot. Those deceased were powerful, so the resulting battle corpses should be formidable."
Zhao Hai smiled. "My thoughts exactly. That’s why I kept them. I also retrieved quite a few storage bags. Here, take some. These aren't of the highest quality and I have no use for them. Don't be modest." With a flick of his wrist, Zhao Hai tossed a pile of storage bags to Yan Bei.
Zhao Hai had amassed a significant number of storage bags from those who had attempted to flee but were slain by the Array Spirit of the Spiritual Array Sect. He hadn't been polite, claiming them all. Most of the contents were trivial to him, and while some Cultivation techniques were useful, they weren't essential. Thus, he passed a large portion to Yan Bei.
Accepting the bags, Yan Bei laughed. "Fine, I won't be formal with you. Hahaha, I never expected such a windfall." Zhao Hai just smiled and returned to his task, intent on finishing the repairs as fast as possible.
Over the next month, Zhao Hai focused entirely on the Spiritual Array Sect’s formations. By the time every array was restored, over an hour had passed since his final push. This was only possible due to Zhao Hai’s incredible working speed.
One day, after mending the final formation, Zhao Hai exhaled a long sigh of relief. He cupped his fists toward the heavens and called out, "Senior Formation Spirit, I have completed the repairs on all formations. Please, come and inspect the work!" Zhao Hai was well aware that repairing the arrays was merely the beginning of his plan.
As anticipated, a massive human head manifested in the sky immediately after he spoke. The head studied Zhao Hai and spoke in a deep, resonant voice. "I have observed. Your repairs are excellent. However, I wish to know your plan for allowing me to leave this place. Speak, I am listening."
Zhao Hai had been waiting for this opening. He explained, "Senior, I can facilitate your departure, but it requires your trust. I must examine your core and use energy threads to link it to every minor formation within the system. Only then can you function as a single entity. Furthermore, I must use these energy threads to bind you to the entire island. This island will become your body. Once that is done, Senior will naturally command this physical form and be able to depart."
The massive head grew silent, appearing to be in deep thought. After a long pause, it looked down at Zhao Hai. "I will permit you to see my core, but you must not attempt anything. If you try to betray me, I will take your life. Do you understand?"
"Yes," Zhao Hai replied, suppressed joy bubbling within him. "Rest assured, Senior. I will do nothing reckless." Zhao Hai’s excitement stemmed from the chance to witness the power of the Upper Realm firsthand. This was the crux of his strategy; he needed to understand the nature of that higher power.
How had the Spiritual Array Sect been cast into the Sea of Blood? It was the work of someone from the Upper Realm. Why was Zhao Hai unable to communicate with the outside or use his Dimension to leave? It was the influence of Upper Realm power warping the space. This interference was the only thing preventing his escape.
Because of this, Zhao Hai was desperate to analyze this Upper Realm energy. If he could understand it, he might even be able to integrate a portion of it into his own Space. That would be his key to breaking free from this predicament.
Initially, Zhao Hai hadn't dared to dream of such a plan because the Array Spirit was overwhelmingly powerful, even in its damaged state. His original goal was simply to use his knowledge to break out and return to the Blood Killing Sect, leaving the mystery of the Upper Realm for another time.
However, circumstances had shifted. Leaving was now more dangerous than staying, forcing him to adapt. He decided to negotiate with the Formation Spirit to gain access to that higher power. Even if the Spirit had refused, he still would have helped with the repairs to ensure it stopped attacking him.
So far, his gamble was paying off. The Array Spirit had granted him access to its core. Zhao Hai believed that by inspecting the core or by connecting the restrictions, he would encounter traces of the Upper Realm’s energy. The entities that destroyed the Sect must have left a mark. A power capable of annihilating a mighty Sect in one strike wouldn't simply vanish without a trace. Zhao Hai was certain that residual energy remained, and that was exactly what he intended to find.
