Living In Another World With A Farm Chapter 8291: Receiving _1

While investigating the Spiritual Array Sect, Zhao Hai manages to identify the formation's weak points but remains wary of using his spatial powers due to the lingering energy of the upper realms and the suspicious Demon Seed within Li Ruohai. As he painstakingly works to set up a manual escape restriction, the ancient mountain-protecting array suddenly awakens, bathing the world in an ominous black-red light. Zhao Hai quickly retreats to a fortified manor and activates its defenses just as a massive, malevolent palm descends from the sky to crush them. With Li Ruohai’s group scattered and the array attempting to grind down his shields, Zhao Hai must now find a way to maintain the manor’s protection while finishing his plan to break free.

Zhao Hai’s heart gave a sudden thump as the realization hit him. He quickly performed several hand seals to transfer management of the formation to the blood lotus. Since the blood lotus was an extension of his own physical form and functioned via his biological brain, its processing capabilities were immense. By delegating the array’s control to this biological brain, Zhao Hai freed himself to focus on other matters. He held full confidence in its efficiency, and even if it faltered, Laura and the others were available. During their spare time in the space, they had become experts in magic circles, surpassing even his own proficiency. Entrusting the task to them left him with no worries.

Once the transition was complete, Zhao Hai let out a breath of relief and addressed the group. "Alright, this sector is now self-sustaining. Everyone, prepare yourselves. The moment Young Master Li and his party return, we must head to the rear to inspect the array. That specific formation needs to be perfectly calibrated."

Yan Bei and the others watched Zhao Hai’s maneuvers in stunned silence. Their expressions shifted to concern as they glanced up at the massive spectral hand and the rotating Yin Yang fish dominating the sky. Seeing the Yin Yang fish spinning steadily, they relaxed slightly, but Yan Bei still turned to Zhao Hai with a questioning look. "Little Hai, how did you manage that? Is it no longer necessary for you to manually direct the formation?"

"Rest easy," Zhao Hai replied with a grin. "Have you forgotten the spiritual array methods used by the Spiritual Array Sect? I am utilizing a similar technique now. The array is perfectly capable of autonomous operation. Fortunately, the Spiritual Array Sect isn't focusing their entire power on us specifically. If they were to concentrate their full might here, we would be in a dire situation. In that case, we couldn't handle it alone and would have to rely on Young Master Li."

Night Demon spoke up, his voice heavy. "Young Master Li and his team are retreating toward us. However, every restriction they encounter—regardless of size—is attacking them. These traps have grown significantly more powerful, making their return journey extremely treacherous. What is our next move? Should we move out to provide assistance?"

Zhao Hai shook his head firmly. "That would be futile. Leaving this position would only result in us getting swallowed by the traps. We must wait here. Our priority is to ensure the safety of anyone who manages to reach this perimeter, whether it be them or others. Everyone, stay calm and wait."

Night Demon was momentarily speechless, yet he recognized the logic. If even someone as powerful as Li Ruohai was struggling against those restrictions, their intervention would likely be meaningless. Furthermore, if they became stranded, would Li Ruohai risk himself to save them? It was a pipe dream. Li Ruohai would never do such a thing. Staying put was their only safe bet.

Suddenly, Zhao Wuji spoke up: "Someone is approaching. Wait, they look like disciples from our Giant Demon Sect." As he finished speaking, Zhao Wuji blurred into motion, flying out of the manor toward the small external square. In the distance, several figures were visible in the sky, desperately fending off intermittent strikes from the surrounding environment. They were clearly experts, as they managed to endure the onslaught.

Zhao Wuji reached the edge of the protective barrier and signaled the approaching cultivators. "Over here! Hurry!" Although he didn't recognize them personally, they were his Sect brothers. Rescuing them was not just an act of kindness; it was a strategic move for his future standing within the Giant Demon Sect.

The Giant Demon Sect group had spotted the haven earlier and were heading toward it, though they remained wary. They feared they might be unwelcome or even attacked upon arrival. Seeing Zhao Wuji, however, brought a wave of relief. Regardless of personal familiarity, his identity as a fellow Sect member was enough. With no other options and death looming behind them, they chose to trust their own and accelerated toward the shield.

The group breached the barrier and landed. The leader of the Giant Demon Sect party looked at Zhao Wuji with surprise before cupping his fists. "So it is Junior Brother Zhao. Did you establish this fortification?" He evidently recognized Zhao Wuji and addressed him by name immediately.

Zhao Wuji shook his head. "Greetings, Senior Brother Feng. I cannot take credit for this. It was his work." He pointed toward Zhao Hai. "This is Junior Brother Zhao Hai from the Bloody Massacre Sect. He is a master of the Dao of magic arrays. He sensed the abnormalities in the Spiritual Array Sect's formations early on and constructed this array as a sanctuary for those trapped. Please, Senior Brothers, there is no need for formalities. Rest here; we are safe for the moment."

Senior Brother Feng looked stunned as his gaze shifted to Zhao Hai. Zhao Hai smiled and returned the gesture of respect. "Zhao Hai greets Senior Brother Feng. The Bloody Massacre Sect and the Giant Demon Sect share a long-standing bond. Please, enter and recover. We intend to welcome disciples from all sects as they arrive. We face a formidable common enemy, and without unity, our survival is at risk."

Senior Brother Feng nodded in agreement, though he was still in the dark regarding Li Ruohai. "I appreciate your hospitality, Junior Brother Zhao. But I must ask, how were you able to foresee these changes?" He was genuinely baffled by Zhao Hai's foresight and preparation.

Zhao Hai chuckled. "It was quite straightforward, actually. I previously crossed paths with Young Master Li Ruohai. Due to my knowledge of Cultivation formations, he requested my help to break a restriction. When I declined, we clashed briefly. I used a magic array to withstand his strike, and he allowed me to depart. Afterward, I noticed the local formations were behaving strangely, so I relocated here with my two senior brothers to build this refuge for everyone."

"Young Master Li Ruohai? You mean the Young Sect Master of the Corpse Demon Sect?" Senior Brother Feng’s voice rose in pitch as he sought confirmation. The name clearly carried immense weight. He glanced toward Night Demon and his companions, realizing their Sect affiliation.

Zhao Hai nodded. "Indeed, it is Young Master Li. When I sensed the array shifting, I moved here. Young Master Li was concerned I might block the exit for others, so he sent several Senior Brothers from the Corpse Demon Sect to accompany me. Senior Brother Feng, please enter the manor. Senior Brother Zhao Wuji, please see to their accommodations."

Zhao Wuji agreed and turned to the newcomers. "Senior Brothers, follow me." He led them inside. Zhao Hai let them go; Zhao Wuji knew the layout well enough to handle the Giant Demon Sect members. Moreover, it gave them a private chance to converse amongst themselves.

Shortly after they entered, a dark speck appeared on the horizon. Zhao Hai smiled. "Young Master Li and the others are making good time. Senior Brother Night Demon, go and receive them. Stay within the shield's edge to avoid the environmental attacks." Night Demon nodded and moved to the front.

Before long, Li Ruohai’s group passed through the barrier. They looked haggard and disheveled. Li Ruohai himself was physically unharmed, though his expression was grim. Zhao Hai greeted him with cupped fists. "Senior Brother Li, would you care to rest inside?" Zhao Hai sought to avoid friction, knowing Li Ruohai’s strength was essential for their defense.

Li Ruohai stared intently at Zhao Hai. "Zhao Hai, I require a private word with you. What do you say?" His demeanor had softened significantly, reflecting a newfound respect for Zhao Hai’s talents. Zhao Hai’s predictions had proven accurate, and his mastery over formations was undeniable.

Zhao Hai nodded, then turned to Yan Bei. "Senior Brother Yan, please organize the rooms. Since we are all from the same alliance, try to have people share. We have limited space in the manor, so I ask for everyone's cooperation."

After Yan Bei acknowledged the request, Zhao Hai gestured to Li Ruohai. "Senior Brother Li, this way." He escorted Li Ruohai into the manor and into his personal quarters. The suite was modest—a simple outer living area with a table and four chairs, and a small inner bedroom.

Li Ruohai surveyed the room before looking at Zhao Hai. "This is your residence? I am surprised by your frugality, considering you possess such a massive manor." Li Ruohai found Zhao Hai increasingly mysterious. He couldn't fathom how Zhao Hai had unraveled the situation or what his ultimate goal was, which was exactly why he wanted this meeting.

Zhao Hai gave a light smile. "Senior Brother Li, you flatter me. This manor was originally a property of the Spiritual Array Sect. I happen to possess a magic weapon capable of retrieving such structures, so I took it. The manor itself serves as the core of the magic array, and its internal systems are quite sophisticated. I am a cultivator; I have little need for luxury. In a crisis like this, having any shelter is a blessing. I knew others would eventually seek refuge here, so providing a place for them to stay was simply the logical choice."
