“The Space Farm application has been initialized. Establishing Internet connection. Network link successful. System operations are functioning normally. Host detected. Analyzing host condition. Host status: normal. Binding to host complete.
You are currently Level 1. Your starting rewards consist of 500 gold coins and six sacks of pasture seeds. Each sack is sufficient to plant one acre. You currently possess ten acres of Level 0 cultivated land. Necessary seeds can be purchased from the shop, and your harvest can be sold back to the shop for gold coins. Due to a network malfunction, you may enter the farm at will, but communication is restricted to the host only; social features are unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Zhao Hai stood frozen, dazed by the words. He felt as though he were trapped in a dream, the entire situation feeling completely surreal.
However, the voice he heard was undeniable. Had he still been on Earth, Zhao Hai would have dismissed this as a prank. But things were different now. He had already experienced transmigration; at this point, what was left to disbelieve?
In his mind, Zhao Hai commanded, “Enter the farm.”
The moment the thought passed, his vision blurred. He was no longer inside his fortress but standing in a massive clearing. The area spanned roughly ten acres of freshly turned soil. Beside the fields lay a brand-new shovel and a small spring accompanied by a bucket. A modest straw hut stood nearby. To its left was a straw dog kennel. Beneath the hut's window sat two bottles—one labeled pesticide and the other herbicide. Next to them was a basket marked ‘collect.’ To the right of the main hut stood a smaller structure with a sign that read ‘warehouse.’ Beyond these features, a thick, impenetrable fog surrounded the perimeter, hiding everything else from view.
The layout was incredibly familiar to Zhao Hai. Aside from the lack of a background story, this was exactly like the game he knew best: the farm game!
Unlike other shut-ins who spent their time gaming, Zhao Hai usually preferred reading and writing web novels. Even though his earnings were modest, he found fulfillment in it and rarely touched games.
Eventually, a friend had introduced him to a farm game. Because it was simple and didn't require a heavy time commitment, Zhao Hai had kept up with it. Before his transmigration, his farm had reached level 27. While not a top-tier rank, he had fully expanded his plots and even unlocked the ranch.
Anyone who had played the game knew the system provided free land and a starter hut at the beginning. This scene was a perfect replica of the game environment. The only difference was that Zhao Hai used to view it through a monitor, whereas now, he was physically present within the space.
Stunned, Zhao Hai sat down and scooped up a handful of dirt, unsure of his next move.
As soon as his hand touched the earth, a voice echoed in his mind. “Space Land, Level 1. Soil is cultivated. Planted crops will grow ten times faster. Soil can be taken out of the Space Farm to improve external land.”
Zhao Hai froze, then a wave of joy washed over him. He needed to learn more about this place. He sprinted to the spring and dipped his hand into the water. Just as he expected, another notification triggered. “Space Spring Water, Level 1. Potable. Enhances the human physique. Can be used for irrigation to accelerate crop maturity by ten times. Can be taken out of the Space Farm to improve external land.”
The sudden windfall left Zhao Hai lightheaded with excitement. He giggled like a fool, his hand still submerged in the water.
After a moment, he stood up and shouted toward the sky, “God, I never thought you’d be this generous! Hahaha, incredible, this is simply too good!”
Zhao Hai understood his situation perfectly. Since arriving on the Ark Continent as someone unable to harness magic or battle aura, he seemed destined for a mediocre life. Avenging Adam had seemed an impossible task. But with this Space Farm, everything had changed. Even if direct revenge remained out of reach, he could ensure the Buda family flourished. In a way, that was its own form of vengeance for Adam.
It took some time for him to regain his composure. He first hurried toward the shovel, curious if it possessed the same magical properties as the game version.
The moment he touched the tool, the voice returned. “Shovel, Tool, Level 1. Capable of automatic tilling. Efficiency: ten acres per day. Can be taken out of the Space Farm for use.”
A wide grin spread across Zhao Hai's face. He moved to the bucket and touched it. “Water bucket, Tool, Level 1. Capable of automatic irrigation. Efficiency: 10 acres per day. Can be taken out of the Space Farm for use.”
“Pesticide, farm chemical, Level 1. Toxic. Automatically eliminates pests. Not for consumption. Can be taken out of the Space Farm. Supply is infinite.”
“Herbicide, farm chemical, Level 1. Toxic. Automatically eliminates weeds. Not for consumption. Can be taken out of the Space Farm. Supply is infinite.”
“Basket, tool, level 1. Automatically harvests fruits and vegetables. Efficiency: 10 acres per day. Can be taken out of the Space Farm for use. Harvested items are automatically moved to the warehouse.”
After inspecting the outdoor items, Zhao Hai realized that while this place mirrored the farm game, it had unique enhancements. It was perfectly suited to his needs.
He eagerly stepped inside the straw hut. Though small, it was fully furnished with the essentials: a wooden bed with a hay mattress, a table, four chairs, a storage cabinet, a stove, and a set of dishes. Most notably, a device resembling a computer monitor sat beside the bed.
Zhao Hai approached the screen and saw it was active. Two icons were displayed: 'Shop' and 'Farm Introduction.'
He immediately opened the introduction. He was desperate to know the origin of this farm and how it worked.
When he touched the icon, it transformed into a beam of white light that entered his forehead. A flood of data rushed into his mind. After a few minutes of processing the information, he began to understand the farm's existence.
Before his soul traveled to this world, he had been playing the farm game. Somehow, the game had transmigrated with him. It had undergone significant transformations, retaining its core mechanics while becoming much more powerful. The farm had evolved into a system bound directly to Zhao Hai.
This meant that while he couldn't browse Earth's internet, he had full access to the farm's features, including the shop. He could trade gold coins for items or sell his produce. Most importantly, he could move items between the farm and the outside world at will.
The farm was currently only level one, meaning many features were locked. As he leveled up, he could unlock a ranch and expand his territory indefinitely. Experience points for leveling up could be earned through farming activities like planting, watering, or weeding. Additionally, bringing external items into the Space Farm could cause the system to evolve. This meant he could introduce unique resources from the Ark Continent to level up the farm. Essentially, Zhao Hai had been granted a god-tier cheat code.
Zhao Hai felt like laughing out loud. With such a powerful advantage, achieving prosperity would be easy. Vengeance for Adam and the Buda family was no longer a pipe dream. A daring strategy began to take shape in his mind.
He could use the Space soil and spring water to revitalize the barren Black Soil Wilderness. It would essentially turn his entire territory into a massive extension of his farm. Once the land became productive, he could gather followers and build his own power base. Then, he could finally settle the score for the Buda family...
After a moment, Zhao Hai snapped back to reality. He shook his head, smiling at how far his thoughts had strayed. Now wasn't the time for such grand dreams; he needed to master his current environment first.
With that in mind, he opened the shop icon. A prompt immediately sounded: “Welcome to the Space Shop. How may I assist you?”
The screen displayed various Earth crops, complete with prices and level requirements. Seeing it was identical to the game, he closed the window and looked around the room.
Finally, he walked over to the cabinet. He suspected it wasn't just for show, but he was initially disappointed when touching it triggered no response. He opened the doors to find three items: a cloth pouch, a short staff with a worm-shaped handle, and another with a grass-shaped handle. He had a good idea of what they were for.
He grabbed the pouch first. As expected, a notification appeared. “Money bag, stores gold coins. Unlimited capacity. Currently contains 500 gold coins. Due to your low level, gold coins cannot be withdrawn from the Space Farm.”
Zhao Hai was momentarily stunned before breaking into a grin. Although the message was brief, it revealed a lot. The bag acted like a specialized spatial storage for currency. But the most important part was the restriction: because he was low level, he couldn't take the money out. That implied that once he reached a higher level, he could bring that wealth into the real world. If that were true, his future was set.
