Invincible Divine Sword Chapter 2089: The Long Clan Ancestor’s Treasure Map
Previously on Invincible Divine Sword...
Once the Primordial Universe Taoist had recovered his energy and vitality, Yang Xiaotian finally inquired about the reason for his journey to the Dragon Destruction Cave.
After all, traveling millions of miles from the Holy Realm to such a treacherous place was highly unusual.
"I came into possession of a treasure map," the Primordial Universe Taoist revealed without hesitation. "It appears to be a legacy left behind by the Long Clan Ancestor."
A map from the Long Clan Ancestor himself!
The revelation left everyone in shock.
The Primordial Universe Taoist immediately produced the scroll, unfurling it before infusing it with Holy Power to trigger its activation. "The map indicates that the hidden treasure lies right here, within the Dragon Destruction Cave!"
Yang Xiaotian examined the document, confirming that the markings indeed pointed toward their current location. Furthermore, the intricate Long Clan Runes etched upon it were undoubtedly the work of the Long Clan Ancestor.
However, while the map designated the Dragon Destruction Cave as the site, it failed to pinpoint an exact coordinate.
"After obtaining this, I made my way here, but the lack of a specific location made the search difficult," the Primordial Universe Taoist explained. "I have spent years scouring this area without finding any sign of the treasure."
"I was actually trapped within that Grand Array for three years. Had you not arrived, I likely would have become nothing more than a desiccated corpse within another year." A look of lingering fear crossed his face as he spoke.
"Master, allow me to examine the map once more," Yang Xiaotian requested.
The Primordial Universe Taoist handed it over instantly. He owed his life to his disciple; without Yang Xiaotian, he would have perished in that Grand Array, so he kept nothing hidden from him.
Yang Xiaotian scrutinized the map before channeling the strength of his Primordial Dragon Holy Body into it. The scroll erupted in brilliant light, and a seemingly minor Long Clan Rune transformed into a miniature dragon of light that manifested in the air.
The Primordial Universe Taoist was stunned. Despite studying the map for so long, he had never realized it contained such a hidden mechanism.
Delight filled Yang Xiaotian as he watched the glowing dragon take flight.
The small light dragon began moving in a specific direction, and the group followed closely behind.
It led them across jagged peaks and through harsh terrain as the path grew increasingly isolated. Along the way, the Fierce Beasts they encountered became significantly more formidable.
The strength of these Fierce Beasts was so immense that even the Destroying Heaven Demon and the Blood Demon Old Monster found them difficult to handle. Consequently, the Dragon Corpse Beast and the Abyss of Darkness had to take the lead in combat.
To Yang Xiaotian’s annoyance, the route was littered with Restrictions. These invisible traps were buried in the earth and suspended in the air like hidden mines. It was fortunate that Yang Xiaotian possessed the ability to perceive these Restrictions; otherwise, they would have been struck hundreds of times before ever reaching their goal.
Guided by his vision, Yang Xiaotian navigated the group around the hazards, trailing the light dragon.
As they pressed forward, a sudden surge of violent energy erupted from ahead, signaling an ongoing battle. The group immediately detected a powerful Dragon Force.
"It is the Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan!" the Dragon Corpse Beast identified.
Indeed, one side of the conflict clearly belonged to that clan.
As the light dragon continued its flight, they drew nearer to the skirmish, confirming that the Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan was locked in combat with the Xuanming Demon Sect.
They could sense not only the potent Dragon Force but also a massive, overwhelming presence of Demonic Qi.
Upon reaching the site, they saw the two factions clashing violently across the mountain range. While the Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan was the premier power in the Ancestor Dragon Realm, they were still slightly outmatched by the Xuanming Demon Sect.
The Silver Heavenly Dragon experts were being pushed back, and it was clear they would eventually fall if the fight continued.
The Young Master of the Xuanming Demon Sect glared at Princess Long Ji of the Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan. "Surrender that Ancestor Dragon Ginseng, and I shall permit your departure!" he barked.
Since they were in the Ancestor Dragon Realm, he preferred to avoid a total confrontation with the Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan if possible.
"We were the ones who discovered this Ancestor Dragon Ginseng! Why should we hand it over to you?" Princess Long Ji replied with fury.
The Ancestor Dragon Ginseng was a top-tier Divine Medicine of the Long Clan. While a standard one was valuable, this particular specimen was a staggering seven hundred million years old!
The Xuanming Demon Sect Young Master’s gaze turned icy with murderous intent. "I will give you one last chance. Hand it over, or none of you will leave this place alive!"
This was the Dragon Destruction Cave, a place where Restrictions blocked all Message Talismans. Even if they slaughtered Princess Long Ji and her retinue, the Silver Heavenly Dragon Lord would have no way of knowing the Xuanming Demon Sect was responsible.
"And I will say it again: we found it first. You will not have it!" Princess Long Ji screamed.
"Then you shall die!" the Young Master roared. His eyes flashed with malice as he launched a punch toward her. "Kill them all! Leave no survivors!"
Sensing the incoming force of the punch, Princess Long Ji quickly assumed her Dragon Body and threw a counter-strike.
A thunderous explosion rang out.
To her shock, though her opponent’s Realm was only slightly higher than hers, his raw power was far superior. She was sent reeling, crashing into a distant mountain peak.
Before she could recover, the Xuanming Demon Sect Young Master unsheathed his Demon Sword. He swung it fiercely toward an exposed scale—the most vulnerable point in a dragon's defense.
If the blade struck, the Princess would be gravely wounded, if not killed outright.
The Silver Heavenly Dragon Clan experts watched in a panicked rage, but they were pinned down by their enemies and could not reach her in time.
Just as the Demon Sword was about to find its mark, a streak of cold light cut through the air with blinding speed. It slammed into the Young Master's blade before anyone could react.
A sharp metallic ring echoed through the mountains.
The Demon Sword was knocked upward, and the Xuanming Demon Sect Young Master was thrust back by a tremendous force, nearly falling from the sky. As he steadied himself, he realized his entire arm had gone numb.
Shaken and enraged, he looked toward the source of the interference. "It's you!" he spat upon recognizing the arrivals.
It was Yang Xiaotian and his companions. Despite their brief encounter previously, the Young Master remembered them well.
Princess Long Ji’s face lit up with relief when she saw them. "It's you! You found your Master!"
Yang Xiaotian gave her a small smile and a nod. "I have found him, Princess. We meet again."
In an instant, Yang Xiaotian’s group landed at the center of the conflict. By then, Yang Xiaotian had already tucked the treasure map away.
The Xuanming Demon Sect Young Master glared at Yang Xiaotian, his body shrouded in swirling Demonic Qi. "Boy, I suggest you stay out of the business of the Primordial Demon World’s Xuanming Demon Sect, or else—"
He was interrupted as Yang Xiaotian threw a punch. The sheer force of the blow sent the Young Master flying backward, causing him to spray a mouthful of blood.
Seeing this, the Xuanming Demon Sect experts abandoned their fight with the dragons and rushed to their Young Master’s side.
"Or else what?" Yang Xiaotian asked, his gaze cold and piercing.
