Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2062 Chapter 983: Deity's Dao Transmission (Part 3)
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
Lord Yellow Mountain answered, "On occasion, I do."
Mo Hua said, "Wait a moment." Stepping outside the temple, he snapped off a tree branch and whittled it into the likeness of a miniature sword.
Following this, Mo Hua pressed a hand to his brow, using his Divine Thought to condense a trace of Sword Intent.
Though this strand of Sword Intent remained unrefined, the sheer killing intent vibrating within it was nearly physical, causing Lord Yellow Mountain to shudder in trepidation.
After infusing the Sword Intent into the wooden carving, Mo Hua suspended it above the entrance of the temple.
To a casual observer, it appeared to be nothing more than a crude wooden toy.
However, should any malevolent spirits or hostile intruders draw near, it would transform into a lethal "decapitation sword."
"With my blade stationed here, the majority of evil spirits will not presume to enter," Mo Hua remarked.
Lord Yellow Mountain looked at Mo Hua with a gaze full of profound gratitude and bowed low. "I am deeply indebted to you; as a Minor God, I shall hold this favor in my heart forever."
Mo Hua dismissed the formality with a wave of his hand. "As I've said, we're good friends, so there is no need for such ceremony with me."
"It is time for me to return to the Sect. I will visit you again when I am free."
Gazing at the small wooden sword dangling from the beam, Mo Hua gave a satisfied nod, waved farewell to Lord Yellow Mountain, and departed with a light heart.
The sun began to sink behind the desolate temple of Kushan.
Accompanied by Xun Ziyou, Mo Hua descended the twisting mountain trail, their figures draped in the golden hues of twilight.
Lord Yellow Mountain watched Mo Hua’s receding back, his spirit stirred by many emotions.
He never could have guessed that eight years prior, the young cultivator who had scaled the mountain alone at night to stumble into his temple would turn out to be the greatest "fortune" of his entire existence...
...
Returning to the Sect under the glow of the moon.
Mo Hua spent the entire night practicing the Reversed Spirit Formation. At daybreak, Zheng Fang arrived to see him once more, delivering a missive.
"Junior Brother, my great-uncle is set to return to Zhen State in three days' time," Zheng Fang announced.
Mo Hua was taken aback. "Elder Zheng is departing?"
"Indeed," Zheng Fang confirmed with a nod. "My great-uncle has already stepped down from his position as an Elder at the Qian Taoist Sect and has stayed longer than intended. Now that the end of the year is near, some clan matters have surfaced that require his presence."
"Before he leaves, he wishes to see you one last time, likely to entrust something to your care."
Feeling a pang of regret, Mo Hua replied, "I understand. I will go and pay my respects to Elder Zheng."
"Very well, Junior Brother, I shall head out first."
With those words, Zheng Fang departed.
Mo Hua reflected for a moment. Since Elder Zheng was returning to his clan, it was better to visit him immediately rather than risk a delay that might cause him to miss the Elder entirely.
Thus, he went to see Elder Zheng at midday.
Elder Zheng was staying in a temporary cave dwelling he had rented within Taixu City.
When Mo Hua arrived, the Elder was in the midst of packing his things. Upon seeing the boy, his face lit up with a bright smile, and he quickly commanded a servant to provide tea. The two sat in the courtyard of the dwelling, conversing over their cups.
"Elder Zheng, are you truly heading back to your clan?" Mo Hua inquired softly after taking a sip.
"I am," Elder Zheng sighed. "My stay here has been quite long already, and recent developments within the clan demand my return before the holiday season."
Mo Hua looked visibly saddened.
Elder Zheng was a man of integrity and a master of Formations who had always shown him great kindness. He had answered every question thoroughly, acting as a mentor Mo Hua deeply respected.
Now that Elder Zheng was leaving, Mo Hua felt a strong sense of reluctance.
Elder Zheng also looked at Mo Hua in silence, feeling his own share of regret.
He never imagined that after years of teaching at the Qian Taoist Sect without finding a single disciple he truly favored, he would finally meet Mo Hua just as he was resigning to go home.
Had he known sooner, he would have sought an Elder position at Taixu Gate instead.
In that case, he could have officially become Mo Hua's "Elder" and passed down all his knowledge of Formations to him.
A sense of missed opportunity weighed on Elder Zheng.
He observed Mo Hua again, but as he did, his expression suddenly froze into a frown.
Even though the Tai Xu Yin Yang Lock obscured Mo Hua’s aura, a Formation Master of the Feather Transformation Realm like himself could still detect that Mo Hua’s Divine Sense had become significantly more powerful than before...
"Has your Divine Sense actually strengthened?"
"That shouldn't be possible..."
"You were at the peak of the Nineteen-Pattern level. Any higher and wouldn't that reach the Twenty-Pattern Golden Core stage? Foundation Building Cultivation with a Divine Thought Formation?"
Elder Zheng dismissed the thought with a shake of his head; the idea seemed preposterous even to him.
He pulled several pre-prepared Jade Slips from his Storage Bag.
"I have encoded these Jade Slips with fundamental knowledge of Original Magnetism and advanced Thunder Magnetism Formations. You may study them when you have the time."
"I have also compiled various Formation Diagrams. These may differ from the heritage of your Taixu Gate, providing you with an alternative perspective for your studies."
"Furthermore, there are some of my personal insights regarding Formations..."
...
One by one, Elder Zheng passed the items to Mo Hua.
Looking at the collection of Jade Slips and texts, Mo Hua was filled with profound gratitude.
Elder Zheng spoke with earnest gravity:
"The Great Dao is without borders, and the path of Formations is truly limitless. You must remain diligent and steadfast in your studies. There are no shortcuts where Formations are concerned; only through persistence can one succeed. Only those who never falter can truly reach the horizon..."
These simple-sounding warnings were the most unshakable truths, forged through his many years of Tao Cultivation.
"Also, if the opportunity ever arises, come to Zhen State and visit the Zheng Family..." Elder Zheng added.
"Yes!" Mo Hua nodded with total sincerity. "I will definitely remember!"
A faint smile touched Elder Zheng’s usually stern features.
He then spent the next several hours sharing his personal experiences, explaining various taboos regarding Formations and cultivation, and warning Mo Hua of potential dangers he might face in the Cultivation World.
Elder Zheng spoke with great care, and Mo Hua absorbed every word. Before they knew it, half the day had slipped away.
The sun began its slow descent, painting the heavens in a twilight glow.
Realizing it was getting late, Elder Zheng prepared to say goodbye to Mo Hua with a hint of sorrow.
Mo Hua also understood it was time to depart.
However, just as he turned to leave, Elder Zheng suddenly called out to him. His face had turned grave, and he seemed to be debating whether or not to speak.
Perhaps he sensed that if he remained silent now, there might never be another chance to tell Mo Hua the truth.
Finally making up his mind, Elder Zheng waved his hand to trigger a Formation. A barrier of light expanded, sealing the cave dwelling and blocking out all sound and sight from the outside world.
"Mo Hua," Elder Zheng said, his voice heavy with seriousness. "Regarding what I am about to tell you—once you hear it, you must never repeat it to another soul."
Startled, Mo Hua gave a solemn nod of agreement.
Elder Zheng acknowledged this and then asked slowly:
"Have you ever heard of... the Great Demon Hall?"
