Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 2055 Chapter 981: Ancient Formation (Part 2)
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
Mo Hua observed the Second Elder, noting how his withered frame was darkening as his limbs slowly dissolved into nothingness.
Is his life finally ending?
Mo Hua gave a slight shake of his head.
If that was the case, their past grievances could be considered settled.
Most affairs in this world are a blend of the positive and the negative.
Although this Second Elder attempted to plot against me, he also allowed me to experience a sensation I had never felt before.
Being a person of broad mind, I shall not hold his past actions against him.
"You may spend your final moments dying slowly on your own..."
As Mo Hua turned to depart, the Second Elder suddenly called out to stop him:
"Little Divine Venerable..."
Mo Hua looked back and inquired, "Do you still have words for me?"
A chilling thought drifted through his mind. With a solemn expression and a heart filled with conflict, the Second Elder finally let out a long sigh and spoke slowly:
"I wish to make a deal with you..."
"A deal?" Mo Hua's eyebrow twitched upward.
The Second Elder nodded. "If it is possible, I want to ask you to intervene at a decisive moment to protect a small remnant of my Great Wilderness bloodline..."
Mo Hua felt confused. "Your Great Wilderness still has a bloodline remaining?"
Prince Ye had perished long ago, his remains interred within the royal tomb of Solitary Mountain City.
Shen Tuao was also dead, his skin having been flayed off by Mr. Tu.
What lineage could the Great Wilderness clan possibly have left?
The Second Elder replied simply, "There is one."
"And where might it be?"
The Second Elder fell silent for a brief moment and offered no further details, only stating, "Little Divine Venerable, you will naturally come across it when the time is right."
"You surely aren't expecting me to restore the Great Wilderness to its former glory, are you?" Mo Hua questioned.
A look of helplessness and despair flickered in the Second Elder's eyes as he forced a bitter smile:
"The Great Wilderness... likely cannot be restored."
Mo Hua felt a surge of surprise at this admission.
The Second Elder sighed. "From the very beginning, all of this has been a chess game. Immensely powerful cultivators, ancient evil gods, and the patriarchs of Demon Sects have all been making moves on this board from the shadows."
"I once believed I was the one deceiving others, but every action I took was actually part of their calculations."
"Everything belonging to the Great Wilderness has long since been reduced to a pawn, moved at the whims of others."
"This is a truth I only perceived after I had already died..."
"Upon such a vast chessboard of heaven and earth—this millstone of life and death—the smallest error would plunge the Great Wilderness into the abyss of bloodline extinction and the total annihilation of the clan."
"Therefore, my only hope is that if the opportunity arises, the Little Divine Venerable can lend assistance to save a single trace of my Great Wilderness royal bloodline. Even if they can never reclaim their ancestral legacy or rule as the royal family again, it would be enough if they could simply escape being manipulated and live a life of peace..."
The Second Elder’s tone was earnest, carrying a distinct note of pleading.
However, Mo Hua shook his head and replied, "Have you forgotten? I am merely a Foundation Building Cultivator; I lack the power to assist you..."
The Second Elder sighed internally before cupping his hands in respect. "Even if your Cultivation is only at the Foundation Establishment stage, your mastery over the Dao of Divine Thought is staggering and a rarity in this world."
"Throughout the ages, there has likely never been another Foundation Building Cultivator capable of entering the Dragon Hall of the Great Wilderness, slaying the Dragon Emperor, and surviving the consumption of the Dragon Soul without their body exploding."
"Furthermore, this proposal depends entirely on the Little Divine Venerable's convenience..."
"If it lies within your capabilities, I hope you will help. If it is beyond your power, there is no requirement to force the matter."
Mo Hua gave a slight nod but did not commit easily, asking instead:
"Then what are you offering me in exchange for this deal?"
Protecting the bloodline of the Great Wilderness was no trivial task.
The Second Elder was a man of sense. Since he was bold enough to propose this, it suggested he held some significant leverage.
The Second Elder gazed at Mo Hua and spoke with deliberation:
"If I am not mistaken, the Little Divine Venerable's physical form has reached the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment, yet your personal Lifebound Magical Treasure has not been forged yet, has it?"
Mo Hua's eyes narrowed slightly as he nodded in confirmation.
The Second Elder continued, "The Little Divine Venerable is a master of Formations and intends to utilize our Great Wilderness’s Four Symbols Green Dragon Divine Beast Formation as your Lifebound Formation Map?"
"That is correct," Mo Hua said, making no effort to hide his intentions.
The Second Elder shook his head. "Little Divine Venerable, the Four Symbols Green Dragon Formation is not something you can use..."
"Why is that?" Mo Hua asked.
The Second Elder avoided being too blunt, choosing his words tactfully:
"The Azure Dragon is the Karma Dragon passed down through the generations of our Great Wilderness. Such Divine Beasts recognize only specific bloodlines; if one lacks royal Great Wilderness descent, they will never be accepted, regardless of their status."
"Secondly, Little Divine Venerable, you do not practice body-tempering techniques. Your physical body is somewhat... fragile, and thus cannot endure the staggering power of the Azure Dragon..."
Mo Hua nodded slowly.
He was already well aware of the complications regarding bloodlines.
Indeed, he had many worries concerning his physical vessel.
The Dragon Power was savage and untamed. Even with his potent, Dao-transformed Divine Thought, he had still felt as though he were being ripped apart after forcibly absorbing the Dragon Soul.
While his Divine Thought was formidable, his physical body remained weak.
If he were to inscribe the Green Dragon Formation patterns directly onto his skin, forcing his body to carry that violent Azure Dragon Power, he would likely be shredded to pieces in an instant.
"And so?"
Mo Hua looked at the Second Elder, knowing the old man wouldn't waste breath on such points without a reason.
The Second Elder remained quiet for a moment, struggling internally over whether to disclose his secret.
But his Remnant Soul was already dissolving.
His legs had crumbled into dust, and his torso was starting to scatter like grains of sand.
The Second Elder sighed, finally surrendering to his fate, and said slowly, "I am aware of a Formation that might... be far more appropriate for the Little Divine Venerable."
Mo Hua’s pupils contracted. "What Formation?"
The Second Elder sighed, "This Formation was discovered in ancient times by a Great Witch of the Great Wilderness within the deepest reaches of the Barbaric Wilderness. It is an archaic formation featuring exotic patterns."
"The patterns of such Ancient Formations are intricate, primitive, and wild; they do not fit the cultivation systems of the Great Wilderness."
"It almost seems as though this Formation was never intended for human use."
