Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 1972 - 954: Revealed

Mo Hua’s countenance shifted instantly. Without a moment's delay, he tapped the ground lightly, utilizing his movement technique to sprint toward Mr. Hui’s side.
The battered Rat extended a shaking hand, pointing a finger at Mo Hua as he hissed, "You little brat, I’ll kill you..."
The gaze of everyone present fell upon Mo Hua.
Mo Hua put on a look of pure terror.
Mr. Hui knit his brows and asked, "Rat, what exactly did he do to you?"
Rat attempted to respond, but the moment he parted his lips, he began to gag. He coughed up mouthfuls of blood, rendering him unable to speak. His eyes were bloodshot and brimming with pure malice, radiating a desperate urge to murder Mo Hua on the spot.
Mo Hua leaned in and whispered to Mr. Hui, "Was he bitten by that massive zombie? Perhaps the corpse poison has reached his brain, making it impossible for him to talk?"
Mr. Hui surveyed Rat’s pathetic condition, his expression growing somber.
Stone also felt a surge of pity, pleading, "Second Master, we are all brothers here. Let’s save Rat."
Mr. Hui showed signs of hesitation.
"Second Master!" Stone urged again.
With a heavy sigh, Mr. Hui produced a bottle of medicinal pills and a calming talisman.
These items appeared to be of high quality, and since Mr. Hui possessed very few of them, it was clearly painful for him to part with such resources.
He intended to treat Rat, but the man seemed to be losing his mind. The dark blue hue on Rat's forehead was intensifying, and his eyes grew increasingly crimson as he glared at Mo Hua with homicidal intent.
'Has the poison from the evil spirit truly erupted now...' Mo Hua pondered silently.
Observing Rat roar and attempt to lunge at Mo Hua, Mr. Hui barked an order, "Stone, pin him down!"
"Understood." Stone charged forward, intercepting Rat’s path.
As Rat’s consciousness continued to fade, he began to lash out at Stone. However, he was plagued by severe injuries and lacked the divine sense required to properly circulate his spiritual power. With only a small portion of his Golden Core strength available to him, Stone managed to subdue him with ease.
Out of respect for their past bond, Stone refrained from using excessive force.
Mr. Hui used spiritual liquid to cleanse Rat’s lacerations before administering the pill and lighting a stick of calming incense.
Amidst the swirling, fragrant mist, Mr. Hui pressed the soothing jade talisman against Rat’s brow.
As a soft, purifying light radiated outward, Rat finally began to settle down.
"Restrain your impulses. Maintain your focus and clear your mind. Let go of everything; do not allow any thoughts to linger," Mr. Hui commanded in a stern tone.
Rat appeared to comply. The dark blue stain on his forehead started to recede, and the redness in his eyes began to vanish.
Mo Hua stole a glance at Mr. Hui, realizing that the man possessed significant knowledge regarding the mysteries of this graveyard.
While he might not fully grasp the intricacies of evil spirits, these tomb robbers clearly held traditional secrets regarding how to exorcise malevolent forces and suppress the yin spirits found within these tombs.
Under the influence of the jade talisman, much of Rat’s overwhelming "greed" was pushed back.
Nevertheless, Mo Hua’s brow remained furrowed.
It would be highly problematic if Rat actually managed to recover.
The burial talisman was indeed in his possession.
Rat’s suspicion had been accurate.
If the man survived and his avarice was rekindled, he would hunt Mo Hua down like a rabid dog.
Furthermore, during the earlier pursuit by the corpse spirits, Mo Hua had already inadvertently revealed the Soul-Shocking Sword Skill to him.
Regardless of whether Rat understood the specifics of that technique, he could not be allowed to live.
Mo Hua scanned his surroundings.
Among this group, he was the only one who had not achieved the Golden Core stage. Standing in their midst, he felt like a solitary lamb surrounded by a pack of predatory wolves.
Consequently, any hidden trump card capable of threatening a Golden Core expert had to remain a secret, and Rat could not be the one to expose it.
Yet, at this moment, Rat was not only surviving but was slowly mending.
Both his physical form and his divine thought were stabilizing.
Mo Hua’s frown deepened.
'A Golden Core is truly a different breed... they aren't so easily led to their deaths...'
To eliminate a Golden Core cultivator, it was usually necessary for another of the same rank to deliver the blow.
With his current level of cultivation, neither his divine sense nor his spiritual power had surpassed the Foundation Establishment stage. Believing he could kill a Golden Core simply by using the Shocking God Pupil Skill had been overly optimistic.
Mr. Hui continued to utilize the jade talisman to keep the corpse poison and wicked thoughts within Rat at bay.
Rat’s eyes regained a glimmer of clarity.
However, the effects of the jade talisman were only skin-deep; it could not entirely purge the evil spirit lurking within Rat’s Sea of Consciousness.
Evil spirits are notoriously difficult to handle and even harder to banish.
To make matters worse, Rat had been bitten repeatedly by the swarm of corpse spirits from the copper coffin. The corruption in his mind had taken deep root.
Mr. Hui could do nothing more than provide temporary suppression.
Just as Mo Hua anticipated, Rat’s features soon twisted, and his expression became monstrous once more.
"Stop these thoughts! Guard your mind!" Mr. Hui yelled fiercely. "If you lose yourself now and the corpse poison consumes your brain, not even the Heavenly King will be able to save you!"
Aware of the stakes, Rat clenched his teeth and fought to keep his mind a blank slate.
But within his subconscious, all manner of dark cravings continued to bloom.
A new, violent urge was beginning to grow—one as bloodthirsty as a true corpse spirit.
Mo Hua observed Rat and then checked his environment.
Mr. Hui and Stone were entirely preoccupied with Rat’s condition. Meanwhile, the four black-robed cultivators sat cross-legged, focused on their own recovery, seemingly indifferent to the fate of a mere tomb robber.
A thought flickered in Mo Hua’s mind. He brushed his thumb against his storage ring, discreetly pulling out the burial talisman and fiddling with it in the shadows.
As if drawn by an invisible thread, Rat’s gaze shifted toward Mo Hua. He immediately locked onto the shimmering, gold-and-silver engraved tooth talisman held in the boy's hand.
Rat’s pupils dilated instantly, his heart thumping wildly against his ribs.
He looked up to meet Mo Hua’s eyes.
Mo Hua offered him a faint smile—a look that was part innocent child and part predatory cat. It was a smile meant to taunt.
This single spark ignited the tinder of Rat's evil thoughts.
In that instant, Rat’s mental fortifications crumbled completely.
