Immortality Through Array Formations Chapter 1970 - 953: Flesh Corpse Statue (2)
Previously on Immortality Through Array Formations...
Even Mr. Hui possessed skills that were far from negligible.
His techniques did more than just withstand the assault of the corpse figure; they allowed for a counterattack that successfully blasted away both of the creature's corpse-formed arms.
Mo Hua turned his gaze back toward the mass of bloody flesh that had coalesced from corpses and emerged from the gleaming brass coffin. His brow furrowed slightly as he observed it.
"It truly carries the 'Taoist Demon aura'..."
"However, the mutation hasn't reached a deep level yet. It's merely a hint, as if it hasn't fully hatched. It looks like nothing more than a prototype..."
Had it been any more advanced, every person present would already be a corpse.
Mo Hua understood the terrifying nature of a Taoist Demon all too well.
In the face of such a horror, it mattered not if there were six or seven Golden Core experts; even sixty or six hundred would be utterly useless.
Ultimately, there would be only one outcome: "death."
A genuine Third Grade "Taoist Demon" possessed the power to completely overrun the Solitary Mountain state boundary. It could even spill over into the Qianxue State Boundary, dragging the entire Qianxue region into a catastrophic disaster.
"Is this Taoist Demon a natural occurrence, or... is someone nurturing it?"
The thought of nurturing a Taoist Demon made Mo Hua shudder internally.
Could it be... that his Uncle is the one behind this?!
A Taoist Demon embodies the karmic mutation of heaven and earth—a nightmare so profound that typical cultivators flee from it like a plague. To Mo Hua's knowledge, the only person truly qualified and capable of nurturing such a thing, and who had actually done so, was his Uncle.
"Uncle..."
Mo Hua frowned and contemplated for a moment before shaking his head in disagreement with his own thought.
It seemed unlikely...
The Qianxue State Boundary was nothing like the Big Black Mountain State Boundary.
Big Black Mountain was a remote, Second Grade minor boundary filled with treacherous terrain and destitute people, making Cultivation an arduous path.
In contrast, the Qianxue State Boundary was a Fifth Grade Great Province Boundary. Here, the atmosphere of Tao cultivation was dominant, teeming with powerful families and Sects, all under the watchful eye of the Heaven Void Ancestor.
Even neighboring territories like Solitary Mountain fell under the influence of various prestigious families.
While minor skirmishes were common, a figure like Uncle—who held the title of "Taoist" and was a notorious Demon Head—would certainly be monitored closely.
Typically, Uncle’s influence shouldn't be able to reach as far as the Qianxue State Boundary.
Furthermore, given the "relationship" between Mo Hua and his Uncle, Mo Hua felt he should have sensed his presence or encountered him long ago if he were truly here.
Naturally, Mo Hua hoped he would never cross paths with his Uncle again.
He feared that Uncle was petty enough to harbor a deep grudge against him.
Considering the history between them, Uncle would undoubtedly seek his life the moment they met.
Of course, these were merely wandering thoughts.
The most pressing issue at hand remained the blood flesh figure that possessed the budding Taoist Demon aura.
Hidden deep within Solitary Mountain, this blood flesh figure represented a massive latent threat.
If this danger wasn't dealt with, not only might Mo Hua and his companions fail to escape this tomb, but the entire Solitary Mountain City could face total destruction.
Should this creature truly evolve into a "Taoist Demon," the entire Qianxue State Boundary might be subjected to a horrific massacre.
In such a turbulent storm, the great families might manage to survive by relying on their ancestral foundations.
However, it would be the loose cultivators at the bottom of the hierarchy who would suffer the most.
Mo Hua let out a soft sigh.
As he was lost in thought, another commotion erupted in the distance. A foul stench swirled back on the wind as the massive figure of blood and flesh began to knit itself back together and revive.
Mr. Hui and the others, who had only just caught their breath, felt their hearts sink as their expressions turned grim once more.
The blood flesh figure emitted a roar saturated with resentment, sounding like the collective wails and struggles of countless dying souls.
Simultaneously, its flesh began to writhe, transforming inch by inch.
The myriad of severed limbs attached to its body seemed to regain life. One by one, corpse abominations began to reassemble, their heads emerging from the rotting mass of flesh.
"This is bad!"
Though Mr. Hui didn't fully grasp the nature of the changes occurring within the blood flesh figure, he understood that in a burial ground, the stranger a mutation appeared, the less it should be permitted to progress.
Mr. Hui produced another Yellow Jade Talisman, this one carved with even more blood-red inscriptions.
"Kill!"
He triggered the talisman, which transformed into a streak of golden light that slammed into the blood flesh figure.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the others joined the fray. They unleashed a barrage of swords, talismans, spells, and raw strength to tear apart the blood flesh figure and the smaller corpse abominations it was spawning.
For a time, the battlefield was a scene of extreme gore and intensity.
By exerting their full strength, they finally managed to stall the mutation of the corpse figure.
However, the creature seemed practically indestructible, slowly regenerating regardless of how many times it was struck down.
Mr. Hui’s face turned pale. "What in the heavens is this? Why won't it stay down..."
His spiritual power was nearly spent, and his own Magical Treasure had grown dim. To continue this battle would surely result in his death from exhaustion.
After a moment of deliberation, Mr. Hui grit his teeth and commanded, "It's no use. Let's fall back for now and devise a new strategy."
Understanding the high stakes, the others nodded in consensus.
Everyone unleashed their final techniques in a massive wave of attacks. Taking advantage of the moment the blood flesh figure spent regenerating, they made a swift retreat.
But the moment Mr. Hui pulled back, the Formation was broken, and the geomantic arrangement that had been suppressing the brass coffin vanished.
The Yellow Jade Talisman shattered, and the surrounding Taoist inscriptions were wiped away entirely.
Freed from these constraints, the blood flesh figure's regeneration accelerated. In a matter of moments, it had squirmed back into its original, colossal shape.
The creature was enraged to see its prey escaping. Its two massive, twisted arms lashed out within the deep pit like giant pythons, whipping up a gale of dust and blood as it tried to seize Mr. Hui and his group.
However, its reach was limited.
Because it was anchored to the brass coffin from which it was born, it appeared unable to leave its vicinity.
Consequently, it failed to snare Mr. Hui and the other Golden Core cultivators.
As it watched Mr. Hui's group flee further away, the "blood and flesh" it intended to consume disappearing from sight, the figure roared in fury. Amidst a cacophony of fierce howls, its body began to split apart entirely, dividing into one corpse abomination after another.
