I Have A Cultivation World Chapter 2472 - 1101: Spirit of Great Chun
Previously on I Have A Cultivation World...
The Great Dao of Death opposes the Great Dao of Life.
By aligning with both of these Daos, a person can ascend to the Seventh Rank, yet this remains the ultimate level one can attain.
To progress beyond that, it becomes essential to merge life and death into unity, gaining complete command over them.
Chen Mobai’s third senior brother from Purple Cloud Palace has already fused with this Innate Life and Death Great Dao.
Upon seizing the Life and Death Great Dao, in theory, the third senior brother should also possess the Great Dao of Life and the Great Dao of Death. This reflects the supreme dominance of the Innate Great Dao over its derived Acquired Great Dao, though certain mighty beings who look down on these may deliberately abandon the Acquired Great Dao or permit other cultivators to attune to it.
Take the Demon Lord, for instance, who employs this tactic to scout for promising talents.
Naturally, another situation arises, like that between a master and their disciple.
Should Chen Mobai’s third senior brother achieve transcendence, the Innate Life and Death Great Dao would naturally open up, enabling him to guide his disciple in attuning to either the Great Dao of Life or the Great Dao of Death beforehand. Thus, the instant he departs, the disciple could swiftly rise and claim the Innate Life and Death Great Dao.
This insight was once shared by Chen Mobai’s teacher in Purple Cloud Palace.
Since the Purple Sky Daoist Venerable genuinely plans to transcend, his Innate Yin Yang and Innate Taixu Great Dao draw the eager gazes of every student.
That said, in the end, prior to his departure, the Purple Sky Daoist Venerable chose not to relinquish the Acquired Great Dao of Yin, Yang, and Void, instead offering all his students an equal chance to compete for them.
Observing the Great Chun Divine Tree now refining the Great Dao of Life, Chen Mobai begins to wonder if his third senior brother has merely grasped the Innate Life and Death Great Dao while intentionally leaving the Acquired "Life" and "Death" unclaimed.
Alternatively, perhaps the Great Chun Divine Tree remains unaware of the truth, persisting in its refinement of the Great Dao of Life day after day and year after year, even though it has already been taken.
"Junior Chen Mobai greets the Great Chun senior."
With these thoughts racing through his mind, Chen Mobai offered a respectful salute by cupping his hands toward the supreme spirit plant of the Immortal Gate.
Wenren Xuewei then executed a seal formula, as an unseen surge of divine sense flowed from her forehead, blending seamlessly with the Great Chun Divine Tree.
Moments later, Chen Mobai sensed a mild yet overwhelming force surpassing the Spirit Transformation Stage emanating from the tree, morphing into a radiant green and white immortal light that wrapped around both him and Wenren Xuewei.
Chen Mobai paused briefly before choosing not to summon the Primordial Yang Sword or the Primordial Clock to resist, instead letting the green and white immortal light carry off his primordial spirit.
In a flash, his primordial spirit seemed to traverse a lush, thriving forest, landing in a wetland brimming with fresh air and abundant water. Strangely, Chen Mobai found these surroundings oddly recognizable, resembling a blend of the external Linwu Cave Haven and Jumang Academy, though certain spots appeared hazy, as if slapped together in haste.
"My apologies, it's been ages since I've hosted any outsiders, so I've nearly lost touch with proper guest manners."
A voice as crisp as a mountain spring, soft and tender, rang in Chen Mobai’s ears. Lifting his gaze, he spotted a Great Chun Divine Tree hovering at the wetland's heart. A sturdy branch, thick as an arm, stretched out from it, bearing a golden, oval fruit that glowed with immortal light and shifted into the form of a young woman with flowing green hair, emerald eyes, and flawless white skin.
"Master, this is the Pure Yang True Monarch from the Dan Ding Sect."
Wenren Xuewei, who had entered alongside him, promptly made the introduction upon noticing the maiden.
Hearing how she addressed the Great Chun, Chen Mobai felt a twinge of surprise, since she hadn't revealed this connection within the Immortal Gate. But it made sense once he recalled the Kunpeng Lineage's pressure on the Jumang Lineage.
"I've frequently heard Xuewei speak of the Pure Yang True Monarch and your unmatched talent. Seeing you in person today, you truly match the legends."
The emerald-eyed maiden, born from the Great Chun spirit, displayed refined poise. With a graceful flick of her pale hand, three branches detached from her rear, assembling into a pair of branch chairs and a small table.
Chen Mobai and Wenren Xuewei took their seats, the latter automatically reaching to brew tea only to realize she couldn't access her domain, remembering they were inside the Great Chun’s divine sense realm.
"Senior, are you the one pursuing the Great Dao of Life?"
Following some courteous small talk, Chen Mobai cut straight to the question.
"Based on what my master taught, it ought to be the Great Dao of Life."
The Great Chun spirit appeared somewhat uncertain about the Dao she followed, opting for the tentative term 'ought'.
Chen Mobai felt baffled, suspecting that the Jumang Lineage’s inheritance might carry some gaps.
"In his final moments, the master strove to cross that critical threshold, but sadly, his body and primordial spirit failed to endure the Great Dao’s immense might, crumbling to dust. The last vestiges of his essence qi merged into my trunk, carrying a fragment of the power he had pulled from the Great Dao."
"Through refining the essence qi my master bequeathed, I absorbed his insights into the Great Dao. Over endless ages, I found that my branches could reach into some mysterious realm, gradually pulling in a nurturing force."
"This must be what you refer to as the Great Dao of Life!"
As the Great Chun spirit explained, Chen Mobai watched translucent branches sprout from her back, numbering eighty in total. Linking this to the volume of True Qi gathered prior to Nascent Soul Formation in the Lasting Spring Cultivation method, Chen Mobai gave a subtle nod.
He observed the tips of those branches stretching into an enigmatic void. Even so, Chen Mobai could sense the tremendous, boundless vitality being siphoned by the translucent branches, then purified into the Great Chun spirit’s form.
