I Am the Fated Villain Chapter 1255: May everyone in the world be like a dragon. The young master truly possesses extraordinary abilities
“I am curious, how does Old Master Fu perceive the current state of Xianchu Haotu?”
Gu Changge lifted his tea cup, softly blowing away the rising steam. He chose not to answer Old Master Fu’s inquiry directly, instead meeting it with a question of his own.
Unable to discern Gu Changge’s true motives, Old Master Fu simply shook his head. “Xianchu Haotu is an immortal kingdom established by the Sovereign, a realm of prosperity and growth,” he replied. “The oceans might vanish and the thunder may fade, yet it remains steadfast and unshakeable. For thousands of years, Xianchu Haotu has been a place of peace, where the nation thrives and order is upheld. From the common folk to the cultivators, everyone adheres to the laws. Equality exists among all living things, free from class-based tyranny. The Sovereign, Chu Gucheng, shares the Dao with the populace and shows compassion for every life. Even the spirits of the mountains and demon beasts are permitted to study the Dao, shedding their primal forms to transform into dragons…”
Before the old man could finish his praise, Gu Changge let out a soft, mocking laugh. “Old Master Fu, you were there to witness exactly how Chu Gucheng ascended to his current position. Do you truly believe Xianchu Haotu is as you describe?”
Old Master Fu still could not identify Gu Changge’s goal, nor could he tell if the man was a friend or a foe. However, he had a response prepared for such a question. “While Xianchu Haotu has not existed as long as other Daoist powers within the Xiyuan civilization, its Foundation is exceptionally robust, as you have seen, Young Master. The Sovereign even carries the aura of an emperor; he has made a magnificent vow that one day, every person in the world will be like a dragon and every soul will become a sage.”
“A fine example of an emperor’s aura indeed—a grand vow for all to become dragons and sages. Should the opportunity arise, I must certainly pay a visit to the Sovereign of Chu. Anyone capable of such words must be a person of extraordinary character,” Gu Changge remarked with a thin smile.
“If the Young Master desires an audience with the Sovereign, I can facilitate an introduction,” Old Master Fu said, feeling a slight sense of relief. He assumed Gu Changge intended to use his connections to meet the Sovereign of Chu.
Though his recent standing within Xianchu Haotu had been poor, and he felt some bitterness toward Sovereign Chu Gucheng, he remained a veteran minister of the realm. Having watched this great power rise step by step, he could not easily speak ill of it, even if his heart was troubled. “There is no need for that; I wouldn't want to trouble Old Master Fu. In truth, I have already encountered Sovereign Chu today. If I wish to see him again, I will simply wait for a fitting occasion,” Gu Changge said, taking a sip of his tea while maintaining a faint smile.
Old Master Fu nodded, though he was puzzled as to when Gu Changge could have met the Sovereign.
“Since the Young Master came seeking me today, may I ask what matters you require assistance with? I still possess some influence and can help with certain things,” he asked once more.
After all, Old Master Fu owed Gu Changge for saving his life and assumed the young man had come to collect on that debt.
“There is indeed a matter I need your help with, though given the current circumstances, I suspect you may be reluctant to agree,” Gu Changge said, smiling.
He had originally predicted that following the incidents in the Southern Wild Ancient Domain, Old Master Fu’s status would have plummeted upon his return to Xianchu Haotu. Combined with his distance from Sovereign Chu and the swirling rumors, he expected the old man to be drowning in depression and resentment toward both the kingdom and its ruler.
However, judging by his recent words, it was obvious that Old Master Fu still harbored deep loyalty toward Xianchu Haotu.
Not long ago, Gu Changge had placed a pawn named Chu Bai within Xianchu Haotu. Under the guidance of the (Arrow of the Sun Bow) artifact spirit, Chu Bai had been whispering treasonous thoughts into Old Master Fu’s ear, citing the moral decay of Sovereign Chu. Despite these efforts, Old Master Fu had remained largely unmoved.
This outcome surprised Gu Changge, as it went against his expectations. Back in the Southern Wild Ancient Domain, he had clearly detected Old Master Fu’s irritation with Chu Gucheng’s son, Chu Xiao. Yet, due to his sense of duty and pride, the old man had remained silent.
While Old Master Fu was devoted to the Sovereign, he clearly possessed the arrogance of a senior, looking down on everyone except Chu Gucheng himself.
Logically, such a personality should have been easy to manipulate.
“What matter is the Young Master referring to?” Old Master Fu inquired, his heart suddenly racing as his body grew tense.
An ominous premonition suddenly gripped him.
At that same moment, Old Master Fu glanced toward the exterior of the pavilion. His shock became so overwhelming that he nearly lost his voice, feeling as though his soul was fleeing his body. He clutched his tea cup with a trembling hand, his scalp crawling and a cold shiver racing down his spine.
In that instant, the entire world appeared to grind to a halt. The breeze outside, the clouds drifting across the blue sky, the cultivators passing by on the street, and the noisy cries of vendors—all of it seemed to vanish, swallowed by an invisible, terrifying void.
He felt as if his very physical form was fading away, leaving only a flicker of consciousness behind. As a cultivator in the Dao realm, even if he hadn't surpassed the Four Sky Calamities, falling into such a state without any warning was an unthinkable, terrifying event.
“Old Master Fu, do not worry; no one else can eavesdrop on our conversation today,” Gu Changge said calmly. He continued to sip his tea, seemingly oblivious to the old man’s terrified expression and paralyzing shock.
“Indeed... the Young Master truly commands extraordinary powers.”
Old Master Fu inhaled deeply, struggling to regain his composure.
He had long suspected that Gu Changge was far more dangerous than the black-robed Elder who had accompanied him previously, but he had lacked proof. Now, the scene before him served as final confirmation.
Such incomprehensible, reality-warping techniques—altering the very laws of existence—were feats Sovereign Chu could never hope to achieve.
“It is merely a minor trick, nothing to be concerned about,” Gu Changge remarked with a slight smile. “Since you have already stood at death's door once, Old Master Fu, I assume you do not fear the end. I have no desire to threaten your life, but I will give you a moment to reflect. I seek the total ruin of Xianchu Haotu and the death of Sovereign Chu. If you cooperate, I will grant you some degree of autonomy. If you refuse, I shall take a more difficult path and simply borrow your body for a while.”
As he spoke, a churning mass of black mist began to take shape, rising like dark, undulating seaweed that pulsed with every breath. It radiated a frigid, horrifying aura that made the heart tremble with dread.
“Master, why bother wasting words on this old fool? Just permit me to consume him. Although his body isn't as refined as Jing Tianyuan’s, it is at the Dao realm, so it will suffice. Do not fret; I will leave his primordial spirit and memories intact.”
The black mist let out a chilling, eerie cackle, its thick form appearing capable of devouring all of creation.
“Unless it is absolutely necessary, I prefer not to collect needless killing karma. Those with common sense usually live much longer than the stubborn and the ignorant,” Gu Changge said, shaking his head slightly, his voice completely devoid of emotion.
Old Master Fu stared at the scene, a freezing coldness washing over his entire frame.
In that moment, he felt a profound regret for coming here. Had he remained within his own estate, even someone as powerful and bold as Gu Changge might not have dared to strike against him.
Ultimately, this predicament was the result of his own foolishness—his lapse in vigilance. He had wrongly believed that he was safe within the heart of the Xianchu Haotu capital.
