Chapter 425 – Void Lord

Noah kept a sharp watch on the Void Lord after parrying his strike. Despite it not appearing to be the Lord’s most powerful blow, Noah's left hand trembled from the sheer force of the collision. Wisps of white steam rose from his skin. Though he maintained a composed and self-assured facade, his thoughts were actually spinning in a chaotic whirl.

Clenching his left fist, Noah let out a quiet sigh and began to study the Void Lord. The entity was not the grotesque beast Noah had anticipated. In terms of physical appearance, he was actually quite striking.

His skin was entirely black, yet it possessed a radiant, polished sheen rather than a dull darkness. Just looking at him gave the impression of a smooth, tactile surface. In the place where eyes should have been, there were two hollow sockets filled with a calmly flowing sea of void.

He possessed a sharp, aristocratic nose that arched elegantly, perfectly complementing his oval facial structure. His hair provided a stark contrast to his dark skin; it was a brilliant white, cascading down to his lower back. A slit-shaped mark was etched onto his forehead, and Noah noted that it pulsed rhythmically.

The Void Lord was draped in a long white coat that hung beautifully over his slender frame, trailing behind him like embers of light. Aside from that garment and a pair of black trousers, he wore nothing else, leaving his bare chest exposed for any witness to see.

As the Lord hovered above, staring down at Noah, the latter felt the surrounding void pressing against his skin, attempting to permeate his body and corrupt his essence. Simultaneously, the very atmosphere had turned predatory toward Noah. At this moment, merely twitching a finger demanded the same level of exertion a mortal would need to lift a massive boulder.

The pressure was overwhelming. Noah could already sense the brutal conflict that was about to unfold. However, he was inwardly troubled, his mental state clouded by a sense of deep confusion.

'I felt something more than just this. The threat posed by the Void Lord shouldn't be enough to trigger this level of dread,' he mused. 'Is there something I’m overlooking?' As the shaking in his left hand finally subsided, the Void Lord spoke once more.

This time, the trace of curiosity and amusement he had previously shown had vanished. Noah felt the sense of peril spike from zero to a hundred in a heartbeat. A sharp tingling sensation spread across his skin.

"This will be my final offer," the Void Lord declared, and the void itself fractured into countless black fragments. These shards drifted in the air, leaving behind a wake of absolute, unfiltered emptiness.

Noah caught a glimpse of it before instinctively turning his eyes away. His heart hammered against his ribs. For a fleeting moment, he was certain he had seen hundreds of eyes peering at him from within that profound vacuum. Those eyes were unlike anything he had ever witnessed or could even conceive of.

The universe acted instantly to seal that small tear in less than a second, but that brief window was enough to leave Noah shaken. Now, the reason for his sense of danger was clear.

"You are an intriguing individual. Thus, I will indulge you and repeat myself once more. Enter my service," the Void Lord commanded. At this stage, Noah knew this was far more than his typical game of dominance.

’Master! We can assist you!’ Nephis’s voice rang out in his mind, saturated with anxiety. She wasn't alone—Leona, Katy, and Sonomi shared her sentiment. Noah could feel their resolve and their eagerness to support him radiating through their mental connection.

He smiled, feeling his frayed nerves suddenly steady. He hadn't realized how much tension he was carrying. He shut his eyes for a moment and then snapped them open, his gaze burning with renewed focus. ’I accept your help,’ Noah replied as he settled into a combat stance. ’But not this second. I’m trusting you to decide the right moment to strike.’

His muscles coiled, and a massive aura erupted from his body, expanding to cover a radius of thousands of miles. The crushing void pressure evaporated instantly, restoring his freedom of movement. In that same moment, a single strand of Noah’s purple hair was severed and drifted away.

’Do you understand?’ he asked finally. "So be it," the Void Lord replied, flicking his finger.

’Yes!’ the maids cried out in unison, just as Noah ducked his head to evade a lethal strike from the Void Lord. The space above him was violently torn asunder, followed by a series of blasts that launched him backward like a projectile.

The dark void was soon obscured by dense black smoke, stained by the spray of Noah’s blood. However, the Void Lord frowned, surveying the area with a look of bewilderment. His eyes then widened in realization, and he clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"You crafty little brat," he hissed. He then pressed his palms together before slowly drawing them apart. The movement was accompanied by a sound reminiscent of flesh being shredded by jagged teeth.

A void gate began to form between his hands, pulsing once, then twice. On the third pulse, the gate expanded to an impossible size until it dominated the entire horizon for kilometers. It then consumed everything in its path with a profound, blank darkness.

The sound of snapping threads followed the strike, causing the artificial reality they occupied to crumble, exposing the true world where Noah stood positioned behind the Void Lord. Noah had his fist cocked back, ready to strike.

Without a word, Noah channeled the forces of Causality and Destiny and unleashed a merciless punch. Without even turning around, another whirling portal of dark miasma manifested behind the Void Lord, attempting to intercept the blow. It failed completely.

For some inexplicable reason, Noah’s attack—which manifested in objective reality as a colossal fist woven from spiraling threads—passed through the portal as if it were a ghost and slammed into the Void Lord. The impact was devastating.

The mysterious Lord watched as half of his back was blown apart into fragments of flesh before he was sent flying at incredible speeds. In that instant, an invisible force penetrated the Void Lord’s form.

Noah did not relax his posture. He began creating and layering multiple realities and potential futures around his foe, where the same devastating strike echoed thousands of times against the Void Lord. A barrage of explosions rocked the void, causing the very fabric of space to tremble and shake.

As far as Noah’s senses could reach, the area was showered in the blood and flesh of the Void Lord. Witnessing the carnage, Noah paused instinctively to watch. The remnants were pulsing. Then, his eyes widened as a terrifying vision of the future flashed through his mind. It vanished quickly, but Noah hissed, "Damn it!"

He immediately tapped into his Providence power, carving a runic array made of Destiny and Causality into the void. He manipulated the power of Luck to tilt the odds in his favor, ensuring the incoming strike would miss him entirely. He didn't stop there; he anchored the fate of his barrier to be absolutely unbreakable.

Noah finished his preparations just as the blood and flesh of his rival morphed into a cryptic, unknown script. The moment the characters formed, Noah’s eyes grew wide. He reached up to touch his face, his fingers meeting something cold and viscous.

’I’m... bleeding?’ Noah thought in disbelief. His entire barrier began to turn pitch black, groaning and cracking before being consumed by the surrounding void. The attack hadn't even reached him yet. Merely witnessing that language was enough to corrupt his Law. It was tainting his very Providence.

Noah’s mind was reeling, but he forced himself to stay focused on the battle. Just in time, he shifted into his Elysiari form as the attack exploded, accompanied by the Void Lord’s echoing voice. "Everything came from Void." he proclaimed, his voice resalating through the expanse. "Everything shall return to Void."

For a fraction of a second, so brief it was almost imperceptible, Noah found his powers stripped away by the Void. That tiny window was all that was needed for the attack to strike his body, forcing a guttural roar of agony from his throat as pristine white blood sprayed out like a waterfall. Noah was sent tumbling into the abyss with a shattered body, his skin flayed and crumbling into black ash, the left side of his face torn away to reveal the bone beneath.

In that moment of vulnerability, a small, writhing dark entity seized the chance to burrow deep into his body. Noah’s frame jolted as if struck by lightning, then began to convulse violently, his eyes rolling back until they showed only white, then turning entirely black. A thick black mist clouded his consciousness before he was pulled back by the frantic voices of his Maids and his Providence.

’MASTER!’ ’NOAH!’

Noah’s eyes snapped open, a dark stain visible in his beautiful irises. He immediately felt something within him racing toward his soul. Everything in its path was ruined, corrupted, and devoured by the void. He was being drained of his power.

That stolen energy was flowing into the Void Lord, who now stood in the heavens, his body completely healed and his expression one of pure bliss. "Your power..." he growled, his white hair flowing like a serene tide, "Your power is magnificent." The Void Lord was surging in strength, and a flicker of Providence began to manifest around him.

Internal alarms blared in Noah’s mind. If that beast reached his soul, it would gain access to Providence and his Maids. Noah’s expression turned grim, and he spat, "Bloody hell." His voice sounded like grinding stones.

Yet, even as his body crumbled and the corruption spread, Noah bared his bloody teeth in a smile at the Void Lord. The Lord felt a sudden wave of unease, but before he could identify the source of his dread, he was forced to his knees, coughing up blood.

Noah’s voice then rang out. "Entering my body? That was a bold move." He let out a laugh before commanding, "Fusion." He triggered his skill, merging the parasite inside him with his own being. Agony consumed him entirely before everything faded into darkness.
