Global Era of Star trekking Chapter 1723 - 840: Song Chi’s Perfect Scheme (Part 2)

"Understood, Uncle Chi!"
Song Yiming nodded in immediate agreement, showing no signs of hesitation regarding Song Chi’s command.
Currently, the Song Family boasts more than three hundred direct descendants who have reached the rank of Fearless Captain. While such a feat would be nearly impossible for other Torch Powers—excluding the Four Great Heavenly Pillar Royal Families—the Song Family stands apart.
Their foresight dates back to the Great Expansion War of the Heavenly Disk Galaxy, where they recognized the vital importance of warship avatar components, particularly those of Medium-High Rank. In the years following, the family relentlessly sought these components from external sources, trading rare and unique resources like the Silver Apple and the Time Realm Fruit to secure them.
After several millennia, the family’s stockpile of Intermediate Rank and higher warship avatar components has grown substantial, allowing them to satisfy this new requirement with ease.
However, the mention of the Ruins Market Guest Tokens and the Ruins Market Walking Rank piqued the interest of the Star-Annihilating Starship Captains gathered in the Song Family hall.
A voice soon broke the silence:
"Uncle Chi, now that the Origin Star is falling, the market value of Ruins Market Tokens that grant access to the Chaos Divine Land is bound to skyrocket. Shouldn't we seize this chance to profit?"
In the upcoming Origin Star operation, simply gaining entry or finding treasures isn't the ultimate goal. The true challenge lies in how to extract those treasures safely.
For those entering the Origin Star via avatars, a Ruins Market Token functions essentially as a cheat code. It allows them to teleport acquired treasures to the Ruins Market instantly. Naturally, such an advantage is highly coveted by everyone.
Song Chi had clearly anticipated this and already possessed a strategy.
"There is no cause for concern. Every captain from our family participating in the Origin Star mission will be provided with a Ruins Market Token. As for the surplus, quotas will be allocated to the Four Great Empires and various Torch Powers, including the Wizard Civilization. However, the distribution will be determined by their respective bids," Song Chi explained, his eyes glinting with a calculating light.
He was considering a different approach: rather than selling the tokens for a flat fee, it might be more profitable to demand a fixed percentage of the items recovered through each token in the future.
...
With a mere decade remaining before the Origin Star's descent into the Chaos Divine Land, Jiang Yuan shared the final operational details within a secure group chat:
"Following our final review, this mission will be restricted to captains equipped with a 'warship avatar' possessing sufficient remote-control range. The only exceptions will be those whose lifespans are nearly exhausted."
This announcement took Song Chi and the others by surprise. Restricting the mission only to those with warship avatars would effectively disqualify a massive portion of their forces.
Warship avatar components are exceedingly rare, with perhaps fewer than ten percent of captains owning one. Furthermore, the requirement for a remote-control range spanning the entire Origin Star is something ordinary Low Rank components cannot achieve, further thinning the ranks of eligible participants.
Under these stringent conditions, the number of captains from the Torch Civilization able to join the operation would be quite limited.
Jiang Yuan preemptively addressed their unspoken questions:
"There are four primary reasons for this!"
"First, the internal space of the Origin Star is highly unstable.
Second, the sudden interference of the Abyss Demon God means this operation will be chaotic beyond measure.
Third, Human Emperor City must maintain a strong defensive reserve to guard against potential ambushes.
Fourth, we must not ignore the Heaven-Fighting Ruins; our civilization cannot afford a catastrophic loss of its primary combat power."
Song Chi fell silent for a moment before nodding in silent concurrence.
He understood that this was the most rational course of action.
Regardless of how precious the treasures of the Origin Star might be, they could not justify wagering the entire future of their civilization on a single gamble.
Following the conclusion of the council meeting, the Zhu Tian Ruins Market became a hive of unprecedented activity.
Despite it not being the scheduled monthly trading day, a massive crowd began to gather within the market.
Their destination was not the shops, but the All Heavens Transmission Platform.
As if by a coordinated signal, numerous Eighth and Ninth Rank powerhouses from both the Torch Civilization and the Wizard Civilization began appearing on the platform in rapid succession.
First ten, then a hundred...
Eventually, the number of gathered experts exceeded a thousand.
Leading this assembly were five prominent figures, including Ferdinand, Ying Yi, and three Ninth Rank Peak core members of the Wizard Council representing the Wizard Civilization.
These five individuals wielded the highest authority within the two Overlord Civilizations. After a brief, heavy silence, one of the Ninth Rank Peak True Spirit Wizards stepped forward to speak.
"Esteemed Lord of the Zhu Tian Ruins Market, we are prepared to accept your previous terms of 'one priority draw for every five items,' but we have a condition of our own!"
[Let us hear it.]
"These treasures are being seized at the risk of our very lives. While we agree to the basic fees you've set, it would be unjust for you to claim all of the most precious items for yourself, wouldn't it?"
"Our honored mythical lords propose the following: for every five items, you may have one priority draw. However, out of all the items collected, you are permitted only one choice from the top three most valuable, and three from the top ten. For any selections beyond that, you must choose from items ranked outside the top ten."
Song Chi’s eyes narrowed as he processed the proposal, his mind working through the implications.
He paused, weighing the advantages, before asking for clarification:
[Per single token?]
The representative of the Wizard Civilization replied immediately:
"Indeed. For every Ruins Market Token loaned to us, all items acquired through it will be subject to this rule!"
[Agreed!]
The moment Song Chi projected his answer through the Mythical Power of the Ruins Market, a wave of visible relief and joy spread through those gathered on the transmission platform.
Technically, the Lord of the Zhu Tian Ruins Market's demand for twenty percent of their findings was quite steep. However, given the extreme dangers of the Origin Star, it was a price worth paying for security.
Treasures only have value if they can be brought home, and historical attempts to extract items from the falling Origin Star have always been fraught with difficulty.
Even for a mythical rank entity, transporting loot out of the Origin Star is a monumental task.
While it is called a star, the Origin Star is unique; its outer atmosphere consists of violent, turbulent Dao Rules. These rules prevent beings above the Eleventh Rank from even approaching and make entry or exit nearly impossible for anyone below the Tenth Rank. Only a few specific whirlpool rule passages allow for passage.
This creates a massive bottleneck.
Whether it is powerful external factions using Transcenders to blockade these passages and limit entry, or Tenth Rank Mythical Creatures camping at the exits to ambush those leaving, the difficulty of successfully extracting treasures is immense.
Thus, possessing a Ruins Market Token allows them to bypass these obstacles entirely. This is why the two Overlord Civilizations were willing to tolerate Song Chi’s seemingly greedy terms.
Once the agreement was finalized, Song Chi immediately produced more than a thousand Ruins Market Tokens.
To show his fairness, he divided the tokens evenly, handing half to the leaders of the Torch Civilization and the other half to the Wizard Civilization.
Song Chi did not concern himself with how the tokens would be distributed internally; he trusted that the leaders of the two civilizations would assign them to the individuals most capable of maximizing their collective haul.
