Follow the path of Dao from infancy Chapter 1767 Chapter 452: Tai Cang Ancestor Skill, Emerging to Reap
Previously on Follow the path of Dao from infancy...
Descending with a sudden burst of speed, Li Hao’s feet slammed onto the head of a Chaos Dao Seed. With a sharp flick of his wrist, an arc of Sword Qi erupted, bisecting the creature’s massive frame in a single, fluid stroke.
"Destiny Sword Kill!"
Li Hao struck with decisive lethality. He intended to finish this encounter quickly so he could return to his meditation on the chess endgame.
Though split in two, the Chaos Dao Seed howled in defiance rather than dying. A hideous, suction-cup-like maw emerged from the wound, lunging toward Li Hao in a desperate attempt to bite him.
With a casual wave of his hand, Li Hao unleashed hundreds of strands of Sword Qi. The creature was instantly shredded into miniscule fragments, its life extinguished in a heartbeat.
After harvesting the Heavenly Dao Power from the remains, Li Hao pivoted toward his next target.
Through this relentless hunting, the pool of Heavenly Dao Power within Li Hao continued to swell.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Li Hao’s Divine Sense caught something. Within a distant mountain valley, he spotted two figures. They were completely surrounded by five Chaos Dao Seeds that had sealed off every path of escape. High above, another Chaos Dao Seed circled the sky, completing the encirclement.
...
"How can there be so many of them?"
Luo Ningshuang’s complexion was pale. Earlier, they had managed to slay two Chaos Dao Seeds, but one had unexpectedly self-detonated, creating a massive disturbance. Despite their immediate flight, they hadn't traveled far before five more of the creatures ambushed them at their resting place.
It was baffling how these Chaos Dao Seeds kept tracking them. No matter how carefully they suppressed their auras and wiped their tracks, the pursuit remained relentless.
"If the situation worsens, we'll have to use a Domain Artifact!"
Su Wanyi’s expression was equally grim as the shadow of death loomed over them. Had they not possessed a Domain Artifact, they would already be trapped in a hopeless stalemate.
The Ninth-layer Heavenly Domain was truly a treacherous land of life and death. Without the protection of such artifacts, even the most exceptional talents—who naturally value their lives—would have retreated ten days ago.
"Which one do we deploy? One is enough to ensure our survival, but if we want to wipe them all out, we might need a second one!"
Luo Ningshuang bit her lip. They only had three Domain Artifacts in total, and these needed to be saved for the Heavenly Ascension Road where the struggle would be even more brutal. Squandering one now would severely limit their future options.
"It isn't worth wasting a Domain Artifact just for the kill; surviving is what matters most," Su Wanyi interjected quickly. "Once we break free, we can hunt down isolated targets and kill them one by one. Using an artifact here is simply too extravagant."
Luo Ningshuang nodded in immediate agreement. "Then..."
"Let me handle it."
Noting her friend's hesitation, Su Wanyi spoke with resolve. "If we hit another crisis later, we'll use yours. Otherwise, you can use one to shield me on the Heavenly Ascension Road, or we can consider this a trade for the Heavenly Dao Power of ten Chaos Dao Seeds."
"We'll see what the road ahead brings. I'll protect you with mine on the Heavenly Ascension Road and we can share the benefits," Luo Ningshuang replied earnestly.
Su Wanyi stopped hesitating. Given the dire circumstances, she didn't doubt Luo Ningshuang’s word. Without further talk, she produced a Domain Artifact. Just as she was about to break the seal on its power, a whistling streak of sword light tore through the air.
Bang!
A scarlet beam of sword light instantly bored through the head of the Chaos Dao Seed circling above them, piercing the skull as easily as if it were soft mud.
Blood rained down as the scarlet light curved mid-air, slashing back with lightning speed to carve the monster's body into dozens of pieces, killing it on the spot.
This display left Su Wanyi and Luo Ningshuang frozen in shock. They looked up, eyes wide with disbelief.
That scarlet flash was pure Sword Qi, and it radiated a truly terrifying level of power.
The remaining four Chaos Dao Seeds roared in alarm at the sight. However, the scarlet sword light didn't fade; it veered sharply toward the creature guarding the eastern flank.
At that same moment, a figure stepped out from a ripple in the void, appearing as if from the Returning Ruins. Li Hao stood atop the falling remains of the first beast, reaching out to grasp the drifting Heavenly Dao Power.
Recognizing the figure, Luo Ningshuang and Su Wanyi were struck with awe, their pupils shrinking in surprise.
This sudden arrival... could it be Haotian from the Human Race?
"Is it really him? How is this possible!" Luo Ningshuang muttered, finding it hard to process.
The strongest of the five creatures had been slaughtered in an instant, its power harvested before it even hit the ground!
Su Wanyi was equally dazed. This was her first time seeing this young man in action, and the sheer spectacle of it was overwhelming.
Enraged roars snapped the two women back to reality.
The scarlet sword light struck eastward. The Chaos Dao Seed there attempted a full defense, conjuring a dark barrier, but the scarlet Sword Qi shattered it effortlessly. The creature’s body was torn asunder, its internal organs scattered across the valley.
The final three Chaos Dao Seeds bellowed in fury, but in the next heartbeat, they turned and fled in different directions.
Despite their numbers, they sensed an overwhelming aura of death coming from the young man. He was far too dangerous.
With two of their kin already dead and the young man joining forces with the two women, their numerical advantage had vanished. Escape was their only option.
"Huh?"
Li Hao raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised by the creatures' quick decision to run. He instantly surged his immortal power, causing his Destiny Sword Qi to split into three separate streaks that chased after the fleeing monsters.
Born of causality and transcending the flow of time, the three red lights resembled falling meteors. They descended from the heavens with a roar, pinning the three escaping Chaos Dao Seeds firmly to the earth.
