Family Management Game In Immortal Continent Chapter 756 - 751: Off-Planet

Li Wei shifted his focus back to the physical world from the Ancestor Space, watching his descendants emerge from their meditative trances while carefully concealing their Ancestral Spirit Tablets across their persons.
He had his own objectives to attend to!
“Infuse the power of Rules into the vessel.”
Reviewing this critical step of the shortcut, Li Wei stretched his limbs to loosen up. After leaving a spirit puppet to act as a decoy in his stead, he stepped out of his residence once more.
“Master.” Yuexian blinked her large eyes as she watched him depart. It was a rare sight, as he had hardly left the house of late.
“Master, your academy was leveled during the Mystic Civilization’s assault. It is a bit late if you are planning to attend classes now.”
“Listen to yourself,” Li Wei replied, rolling his eyes at her. “Knowledge is power. Can’t I head out to brush up on my studies?”
With a light laugh, Li Wei followed the well-worn path toward Grandma Ling’s cave-dwelling and rapped on the door.
He was surprised when a synthesized, mechanical voice answered from within: “Master is currently engaged in a brutal conflict with the Mystic Civilization. If you are seeking Master’s artifact refining services, please insert your payment into the ‘Artifact Refining Fund’ slot. No refunds allowed.”
“That is just like Grandma Ling, eternally dedicated to ‘world peace.’”
Li Wei’s brow furrowed upon learning that Grandma Ling was currently embroiled in a bloody struggle on the front lines.
He detoured to Fifth Maiden’s residence, but she was also absent. It appeared that the Star-Domain War Zone required her urgent attention. When he attempted to send a telegraph to Boss Qi, there was no reply at all. Li Wei assumed Boss Qi was likely in the middle of a hasty retreat.
“The outside world is in total chaos. Is there no one left to take me on a trip?”
Surveying the villa district, he realized there were very few people he actually trusted. Had it been otherwise, he wouldn't have kept his Cultivation realm a secret for so long.
Back when he was at the Golden Core stage, it was manageable. However, he had already reached the peak of Divinity Transformation. Such explosive growth in such a short window would undoubtedly spark suspicion.
One had to remain vigilant.
As for Old Man Chen, the security guard, he would likely remain at his post even if the heavens collapsed.
After a moment of contemplation, Li Wei took a sharp breath and vanished from the villa area in an instant.
California was truly a small place. Within twenty minutes, he materialized on the bustling city streets.
The sudden incursion by the Mystic Civilization hadn't disrupted daily life too severely. Those required to commute via flying swords still went to their jobs as usual.
The current era felt more like “cyber-cultivation.” The streets possessed a heavy mechanical aesthetic, yet Cultivators could be seen soaring on swords—some of which even emitted technological tail flames.
Li Wei soon reached a shadowed alleyway.
He noted an ancient-looking shop where the eerie singing of an unknown fiend echoed from within. To the left, a doorman stood behind a counter that reached waist-height. Above him hung a shimmering neon sign: [Glittering KTV].
“Here to sing? What is the room number?”
The doorman, clad in a formal suit and polished leather shoes, didn't seem interested in making small talk.
Li Wei paused, then gritted his teeth. He straightened his posture and struck the signature pose of the Salvation Army.
With a flushed face, he barked the secret passphrase: “Struggle for the glorious future of the Human Race!”
“One of our own?!!”
The Salvation Army operative immediately became alert and whispered, “Come with me.”
“I need to use your telegraph to contact the leader. Inform headquarters that I am... the student who doesn't go to school.”
“The student who doesn't go to school?”
The doorman was momentarily puzzled but did not dare to be careless. He escorted Li Wei to a concealed darkroom to transmit the telegraph.
After nearly a dozen rounds of identity verification that tested Li Wei’s patience, the operative finally produced a secret treasure and shattered it.
A holographic projection of Teacher Xiao Qingluo instantly filled the room. The first thing Li Wei noticed was the high-tech laboratory setting behind her and her flowing black robes.
“Hahaha, excellent boy! I knew the day would come when you would understand my vision and join our ranks.”
Xiao Qingluo laughed with genuine warmth, looking deeply satisfied.
Li Wei rolled his eyes, though he felt a sense of relief seeing that his teacher was still among the living. Once the doorman exited, Li Wei cut straight to the chase.
“Teacher, I know your reach is extensive. There is a minor issue I need your help with.”
“Oh?” As Li Wei explained his needs, Xiao Qingluo’s expression turned solemn.
“You require the power of Rules that meets the threshold for Void Refining—and you need it in a physical form?”
Noticing her hesitation, Li Wei frowned. “Is the amount of Spirit Stones the problem?”
“No. Resources are scarce lately. You know I was captured once, and the Salvation Army members are all wanted fugitives. I will try to source what you need, but honestly, if it is the power of Rules you seek, you could obtain it yourself.”
Li Wei’s interest was piqued. “As expected of Teacher Xiao. I knew being your pupil would pay off. The Salvation Army truly is a force for justice.”
“Save your flattery,” Xiao Qingluo said with a smile. “You can head into deep space. Search for planets that haven't been claimed by powerful experts for Cultivation. Some of those worlds hold the power of Rules. You just need to follow my instructions and plant an anti-matter device into the planet’s core.”
“Off-planet?”
Li Wei raised an eyebrow. He needed to break through to the Void Refining stage in the physical world anyway, and the resulting aura leak would be too massive to hide. Leaving Earth was a necessity. “My thanks, Teacher.”
Just as Li Wei reached to terminate the transmission, Xiao Qingluo stopped him.
She spoke with a heavy tone, “You brat, you still haven't explained what you intend to do with it. The world is unstable right now, and Earth is no exception. Don't go causing trouble. One wrong move and you'll end up in a cell.”
“What is there to fear?” Li Wei replied, rolling his eyes. “I had a tiff with the doorman. I’m planning to use it to blow him sky-high.”
Xiao Qingluo’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Excellent! You have my full support. Just wait, I’ll have someone deliver a few anti-matter bombs to you!”
“Thank you, Teacher!”
