Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1610 1610: Her Weapon

Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
Adam entered the inner space trial, facing a dark glass clone of Silvana armed with a massive blade instead of the expected Silver Weaver challenge. His abilities failed to summon, forcing him to dodge her lightning-fast strikes using only raw energy while sustaining injuries from her attacks. He countered with a compressed energy blast that shattered her arm, but as he lunged for the black flame, he was thrown back by an unseen force, confronted by the real Silver Weaver.

As Adam endured the trial of the First Star, the outside world pressed on with its everyday rhythm.

"Sir, are you certain this was wise?" Merra questioned hesitantly, fixing her eyes on Zargos.

Zargos dismissed her concern with a wave. He appeared as composed as ever, yet his subdued voice revealed his inner turmoil.

He shot Merra a stern look.

"Do you doubt me?"

Merra denied it with a shake of her head.

"Of course I trust you, but... He hasn't even reached the edge of the First Circle yet. Acquiring Dark Energy this prematurely has led to success in only a handful of instances."

Silence followed. Zargos set down his cocktail and rose from the lounge chair.

His figure cast a shadow over Adam, who thrashed his head back and forth, locked in a perpetual scowl as though trapped in a nightmare—a reality not too distant.

"Indeed, with any other K4-Phantom, I'd avoid such a gamble. You're correct; if Adam Vinter perishes due to my decisions and pursuits, I'd face grave consequences, but..."

Tap.

Zargos hoisted Adam onto his shoulder while making his way toward the residence.

"He'll pull through. Nevertheless, we must brace for the worst outcome. No one can predict what occurs upon his awakening. If he awakens..."

Merra swallowed hard and, with a quick nod, trailed after Zargos.

"Y-Yes!"

In their duo, she remained the steady and dutiful one, Zargos's devoted aide, since he tended to be impulsive and lighthearted. Yet when he grew solemn, it signaled a dire circumstance.

...

As Merra and Zargos readied themselves for the consequences of Adam's evolution, he confronted what might be the most bewildering ordeal on his journey.

He had first battled Silvana, or more precisely, her shadowy duplicate. He went along with it knowing it wasn't the genuine Silvana, merely the First Star's intent, yet... the unexpected shift caught him off guard.

Step. Step. Step.

Every ponderous footfall resounded across the infinite emptiness until a towering figure, known well to Adam, emerged from the shroud of obscurity.

It was the Silver Weaver himself, not some imitation or warped version, but the authentic entity who had served as his steadfast companion since Adam gained the Desire of Beyond.

"You..." Adam's words stumbled. "What are you doing here?"

The Silver Weaver glanced at Dark Silvana, at the ebony blaze, then faced Adam.

"Well, this feels rather uncomfortable. Suppose I wasn't meant to be at all. My presence stems from a chain of happenings with infinitesimal odds, which you somehow orchestrated."

The Silver Weaver advanced gradually toward Dark Silvana, weaving his tale onward.

"Didn't it strike you as odd that one condition for the Grand Stars not only granted fresh strength but also assumed a unique shape? Prior to that, it occurred solely with Lone Blaze, though her case differs. She possessed awareness right from the start. It was her initiative."

The Silver Weaver halted, pivoting toward Adam.

"Moreover, the Evolution Tree never concealed your abilities from you. The ancient tree just withheld the full story."

Adam swallowed nervously.

"W-What? What on earth do you mean?"

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The dark blaze quivered as the mass surged directly into the Silver Weaver's torso.

His flowing white garment blackened in an instant, and his locks extended a bit further. His complexion stayed ashen, nails ebony, eyes emerald with insightful, circular irises. Yet the profound shift lay in his presence.

This wasn't a full metamorphosis, but an advancement to a prior unattainable level.

"Adam."

The Silver Weaver's tone echoed.

"The Dark Energy enabled memories and feelings from your initial clash, from your desperate triumph, to manifest alongside your thoughts and goals. Without that shadowy surge, I would never have come into being, Adam."

Adam tensed up, his face hardening with focus. The Silver Weaver's aura far exceeded that of Dark Silvana.

"So, what happens next? Are you against me now?"

The Silver Weaver negated it with a head shake.

"I'll remain your partner forever, while you endure. However, with your incomplete mastery over the Dark Energy, I must yield to the First Star's directive. View it as a test, complete with gains and risks."

The Silver Weaver fixed his gaze on him.

"And bear in mind, choice evades us both now, not since you crossed the crystalline portals."

"Rewards?" Adam queried. "What do I gain by beating you?"

"Isn't it clear? Total command of the Dark Energy. Merely a sliver fueled my creation. The Path Construct ensured it stayed subtle and effortless for you. But while the Dark Energy lingers, the First Star's intent overrides your own. You need to alter that."

Adam arched a brow.

"What if I fail?"

The Silver Weaver averted his eyes, sorrow clouding them.

"Then oblivion claims us all. Me first, the Evolution Tree next, and you last."

He eyed Dark Silvana.

"Only she persists, the true one."

A shiver coursed through Adam.

"But I won't fail, will I? I'm powerful!"

The Silver Weaver offered a rueful grin.

"I hope that holds. Regardless, my role concludes; action beckons. The First Star demands it soon. The sole advice I offer: recall the ability unique to you alone."

With that, the Silver Weaver's blaze flickered as he dissolved into a torrent of dark fire.

"Agh?"

The blaze rushed at Dark Silvana, who had readied herself for combat.

The Silver Weaver shaped into a limb of obsidian crystal, fully mending Dark Silvana's injury from Adam's power strike.

Yet her mended limb posed the smallest threat to Adam.

The massive shadowy spike bearing a broad edge now rested in Dark Silvana's hold, the armament currently beyond his reach now wielded by his foe.

"S-Shit... How can I overcome an enhanced edition of myself?"
