Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1482: Purchasing a Home and the Way Forward

As the sun dipped below the horizon the following evening, a real estate agent stepped out of a massive skyscraper wearing a look of pure satisfaction. She had spent the last two days guiding Adam and Silvana through various properties, and her work had finally paid off.
The tower she left behind stood tall like a stone monolith piercing the sky, positioned toward the left side of the First Ring’s central district without being at the very edge.
This was the Obsidian Tower, a crown jewel among the skyscrapers in the heart of the city.
Just moments ago, the deed to the penthouse at the very peak of this structure had been transferred to its new proprietor: Adam Vinter.
He now held all the keys, identification cards, and essential paperwork. While the final legal registration would require a few more days to process, the primary contracts were signed, and both parties had reached a mutual agreement on all terms.
“We did it!” Silvana exclaimed, spinning around in a joyful circle. In contrast, Adam’s hands trembled slightly as he gripped the official ownership documents.
His eyes twitched when they lingered on the staggering price listed for the penthouse—45,000,000 credits.
“Damn, 45 million. Silvana, where is all that money supposed to come from?” Adam muttered. “Will there be anything left in my account after this?”
“Hah, are you really complaining now? Weren’t you the one who gave this place a 95 out of 100 rating? This was your pick!”
Adam gave a short snort of protest.
“Pffft, don't act like you didn't prefer this one over all the others. We made this choice together.”
Silvana conceded with a nod.
“True. It might not be as sprawling as some of the other estates, but the scale is still breathtaking. It’s practically a fortress sitting on top of a spire! Every detail is premium: the construction materials, the interior aesthetics, the smart electronics, the defense systems, and the appliances—it's all top-tier.”
She paused, glancing back at the papers shaking in Adam’s grip.
“Even so, 45 million is a steep price to pay. That is an astronomical amount of money.”
“Well...” Silvana said, collapsing onto the plush sofa. “Think about the sheer number of monsters you slaughtered in the Dead Lands; you’ve accumulated a fortune. Plus, don’t forget your earnings from those duels. As the combatant, you always take a cut of the wagers. When you fought Reinz for the Alderran Family lands, Erik alone put down 700 million on your head.”
Adam’s eyes widened as the realization hit him. He vividly recalled that day; it was the battle that had secured his family’s current residence.
“Hah, and here I am whining about 45 million for a luxury penthouse? Where did he even get that kind of capital?”
Silvana dismissed his shock with a wave of her hand.
“He’s the powerhouse of the Wurhen Family, don't forget. They are one of the Twelve Branches. Besides, he’s a Second Rank Phantom who has likely survived multiple World Wipes. If you haven't amassed a few billion after living through all that, you’re clearly doing something wrong.”
Adam nodded slowly, taking a seat beside her. Setting the documents aside, he surveyed their new domain.
The space was elegant and modern, yet it was clear that it would take considerable effort to transform this cold luxury into a lived-in home.
“We’ve got a mountain of work ahead of us, don't we?” Adam asked with a wry smile.
Silvana rolled her eyes playfully and leaned into him, wrapping her arms around him.
“Obviously. I refuse to let our home look like a sterile showroom. By the time you get back from your next trip to the Dead Lands, there will be a vacuum bot patrolling the floors, a kitchen full of gadgets I’ll barely use, and a hoard of plushies on the sofas.”
“Hah, that sounds perfect—actually, it sounds great. Since we have such an incredible place now, would it be alright if I invited my family over? I know you talk to them, but it’s different from sharing a meal together.”
Silvana’s expression immediately shifted to one of intense focus.
“Oh, that’s a wonderful idea. I’m all for it, but… don’t you dare invite them without giving me a heads-up! I need to plan the menu. I have to make a proper impression!”
Adam just shrugged. He knew his family wouldn’t care about the formalities, and Silvana’s cooking would be a hit regardless of the occasion.
He certainly wasn't going to argue. She was a talented cook, and his appetite was never-ending.
Who would turn down a homemade feast?
They sat in a comfortable silence for a moment, reflecting on the whirlwind of the past few months. Both had undergone significant changes, not just in their roles as Phantom and Operator, but as two young people navigating a world of chaos.
Their bond had undeniably deepened. It was the natural progression for most Phantoms and Operators who survived long enough together.
“We’ve handled the big things for now, haven't we?” Silvana whispered, resting against his chest.
Adam nodded in agreement.
“There’s no need to rush. We’re short on time in the grand scheme of things, but taking a few days or weeks to settle in won't hurt us as long as we keep growing stronger.”
Silvana’s smile turned slightly bitter. “There is still so much to do. You’ll be heading back to the Dead Lands soon, but you have one task to finish before that, right?”
“Yeah. I’ve wanted to handle it since the fight with Menax, but… man, that guy left an impression on me. Especially that final wish of his.
I’m not sure I’d have the guts to ask my own killer to cremate my remains...”
“Hah, knowing you? You’d just want to make sure no bottom-feeders could scavenge anything from your corpse. From what I’ve seen, you’d rather fall to a powerhouse than win against a weakling.”
Adam rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
“Maybe so. I think that’s a fair assessment. Plenty of hunters were on my trail back then, but only Menax was capable of pushing me to my limits.”
After a brief pause, Silvana bit her lip, looking at him expectantly.
“It’s time to move forward and see what's next, isn’t it?”
Adam’s gaze sharpened with determination as he nodded.
“Yes. I need to see the requirements—the path to the Third Grand Star.”
