Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf Chapter 1765 - 991: Extinction Arrow, Tenfold Heaven Mark!

Previously on Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf...
The Demon Star Lord maneuvers to expose the Emperor’s Son of Ten Thousand Demons, suspecting a betrayal of the system’s interests in exchange for help from the Heavenly Destiny Clan. Haunted by the devastating losses of past wars and the overwhelming power of the Heizi Tribe, the Star Lord justifies his cautious, survivalist approach to leadership. Meanwhile, Su Lin leads the Wolf Pack on a swift return to their original territory, their murderous aura unsettling the predators of the Arctic ice fields. Upon reaching their destination, the pack finds temporary respite as they reunite with the wolves guarding their home cave.

Internal conflicts within a massive Star Nebula Great Clan are commonplace, often dragging on for tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of years.

Because of the sheer scale of such a clan, the Exotic Beast Forces that prop it up are both complex and deeply entrenched, making it nearly impossible to reach a swift resolution.

Take the Demon Star Lord as an example. While he appears to command only hundreds of billions of quasi-Sky Realm soldiers and three hundred billion Sky Realm troops on the surface,

his true power is bolstered by four weary Demon Emperors, various vassal territories, and countless minor factions that have scattered over centuries of constant warfare.

The Emperor’s Son of Demons operates under similar conditions; he is supported by the Demon Research Repository and the Resource Reserve Department, as well as garrisoned troops, vassal towns, major tribes, and the noble classes living within the nebula layers.

Despite the existence of a so-called non-accounting agreement, whoever eventually seizes total control will likely suppress their rival, leave them underutilized, or exile them to the freezing reaches of the starry border.

In essence, this is a power struggle where neither side has the luxury of retreat.

As the Demon Star Lord initiates his next move, whispers have begun to circulate regarding the secret dealings between the Emperor’s Son and Su Lin, even though nothing has been proven.

While a fierce war of public opinion raged outside,

Su Lin remained in the Star Emperor Hall, using the Serenity Bell to refine his state of mind, though the artifact's influence on him was minimal at best.

Through the constant polishing of the Mysterious White Cloud at every level, Su Lin’s will had already become as unyielding as iron, tempered further by the many life-and-death struggles of his past!

Nevertheless, the bell still provided significant benefits to other exotic beasts.

The Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly, for instance, has made further progress thanks to the premium resources provided by the Demon System and several sessions of Serenity Bell refinement.

It has been roughly eight to nine thousand years since the system was unified, and the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly has finally reached the Peak of Nine Heavens.

Crossing the threshold into the Ten Heavens, however, remains a distant goal.

The barriers of the Sky Realm path only grow more formidable as one climbs higher.

If the Four Heavens represents a major hurdle for typical Heavenly Realm Beasts,

then the Seven Heavens of the Heavenly Venerate Realm is a literal Heavenly Chasm, even for those with exceptional talent!

Prominent figures from the Wolf Pack Civilization, such as the Arctic Tern, Moon Fox, the Grassland Wolf King’s Offspring, and Wolf Sister, are all currently stalled at this very chasm, with no clear timeline for when they might transcend it.

The Nine Heavens and Ten Heavens are even more daunting.

Countless heroes and geniuses have been broken by these levels.

Even among the elite Star Sky geniuses, many find themselves unable to bridge the gap of the Nine or Ten Heavens throughout their entire lifespans.

Thus, it is perfectly natural that the Twelve-winged Dream Butterfly has not achieved a breakthrough on her own after only a few millennia.

As a reward, Su Lin decided to grant her the Ten Heavens Mark of a Peak Heavenly Venerate.

This served as compensation for her tens of thousands of years of exceptional service.

She has truly established herself as a vital confidant, second only to Little Lone Wolf!

Su Lin has a reputation for never mistreating those who prove themselves to be loyal and capable.

While she stayed behind,

the Black Gold Demon Ape took tens of thousands of Dream Guards and utilized the Demon System’s Giant Time-Space Altar to return and reorganize the Nightmare Army.

The other Dream Guards and exotic beasts who followed Su Lin have also seen their strength grow immensely during this interval.

Due to the surplus of resources, almost every Dream Guard has advanced, with the majority reaching the Late Stage or Peak of the Venerable rank.

A select few have even successfully broken through to become Strong Venerables.

Furthermore, Lev spent time within the Demon System’s research departments. His participation in their development projects allowed his previously stalled scientific theories and insights to take a massive leap forward.

Over these few thousand years, technologies such as Star Stone Cannons and Star Energy Beams were fully mastered.

He even managed to secure the production blueprints for standard Star Energy Armor, Star Energy Battle Axes, and Giant Blades.

In the future, these armaments will drastically increase the fighting capacity of the Wolf Pack Civilization’s various legions.

On the Starry Sky Battlefield, aside from one's Cultivation realm, battle formations, destiny, and fate marks, the most vital factor in combat effectiveness is Star Energy Weapons.

Standard Star Energy Armor provides defense equivalent to Sky Realm Heavy Armor.

Similarly, Star Energy War Instruments possess the raw destructive capability of Sky Realm artifacts.

These acquisitions will significantly bolster the military might of the beasts serving under Su Lin.

The Wolf Pack Civilization was only able to defeat the Radiant Sun Tribe’s army—which numbered in the tens of billions—with their own trillions because of the disparity in Star Energy Weapons and other killing tools.

Because of this, Su Lin does not view these thousands of years within the Demon System as a waste of time, unlike the Heavenly Ghost.

Both Su Lin and his subordinates have been diligently absorbing the specialized knowledge, research, and resources offered by this ancient and established Demon System.

"Brother Mo Peng, I have successfully carried out your instructions to secretly purchase thirty Extinction Arrows and six Peak High Heaven Realm Longbows. What exactly is your plan for these?"

Just then, the Emperor’s Son of Demons arrived at the Star Emperor Hall once more to hold a private meeting with Su Lin.

Ever since Su Lin instigated the debate over national policy throughout the system, the Emperor’s Son, who was once at a disadvantage, has seen his influence soar.

At every turn, exotic beasts moved by the philosophy of "fighting to the end rather than surrendering without a strike" are defecting to his side, joining the Emperor’s Son in his ideological campaign.
