Though known as a ’beast’, the Venerable Level Exotic Beast is basically a kind of ancient existence. Its form lacks actual flesh and blood; once it perishes, the inner consciousness fades away, turning the remains into something akin to a wonder in certain ways.

Wutian Venerable and his companions, having already grasped Creation, now put their main effort into the Void Lineage; the Time Lineage remains secondary for them at present, so this Exotic Beast’s corpse offers them scant benefit for insight.

Atop this mountain’s top sat a deep pit in the middle. The pit plunged straight down, boring through the mountain to its roots. Down at the bottom, raging flames churned without pause, sending out bursts of volatile Power of Dao.

Sensing it nearer, it felt like a Dao Venerable was wildly lashing out in every direction, yet the mountain’s makeup of pure, unyielding Primordial Power kept this Power of Dao explosion fully contained.

Next to the pit that dropped to the mountain’s depths.

Roughly a dozen forms lingered, loosely split into two sides—one with around seven members, the other with eight. All were Dao Venerables, locked in a subtle face-off.

The groups stood apart, eyeing one another, but no one struck first, as if biding their time for something.

Time slipped by unnoticed, until the dozen Dao Venerables on the summit abruptly felt a shift, brows furrowing a bit, some turning eyes toward a far-off spot.
