Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1510 - 725: Encountering the Exotic Beast Again
Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
Before venturing into the Source Sea, the group had already grasped some details about the area and the dangers from the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable. Yet, as Dao Venerables who gained enlightenment during this Reincarnation Era, none of them had ever laid eyes on such a spirit up close before.
Still, this didn't cause them to hang around for long.
"Let’s go,"
Wutian Venerable and his companions fixed their gaze on the spot where the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable had vanished for just a second, then promptly continued onward.
The Spirit of the Fallen Venerable posed a mere nuisance in the Source Sea, and taking it out offered zero rewards. On the other hand, those Venerable Level Exotic Beasts, though carrying some risk, held true worth once their bodies were claimed after defeat.
Chen Mu quickly reflected on the clash from moments ago. Despite confronting a projection of an ancient Venerable fully corrupted by the Great Dao, the strike he withstood was really a blend of Primordial Power.
This showed that these Spirits of the Fallen Venerable simply represented a manifestation of the Great Dao, bearing no ties to their former lives.
Regardless of their unmatched might in the past or their dazzling feats during their time, they now lacked any sense of self, fully integrated into the Origin Dao, and drifting along with the Origin River.
...
Chen Mu and his allies pressed ahead.
Soon enough.
Amid the far-off glow of the Great Dao, a massive and splendid expanse of terrain emerged.
Though labeled as land, the term didn't quite fit since the entire Source Sea consisted of Primordial Power, and this land-like zone was merely a hardened version of that Primordial Power.
"Hmm?"
"Let’s go take a look."
Wutian Venerable and the rest spotted that stretch of land too. With little hesitation, they quickly agreed to check it out.
They had roamed the Source Sea for quite a while, facing only one Spirit of the Fallen Venerable and no real chances so far. Spotting this odd landmass in the endless Source Sea now, they naturally felt compelled to investigate.
Swish! Swish!!!
The group moved as one, landing on the land together, with Chen Mu right behind.
The instant their feet touched the ground, Chen Mu sensed a faint heaviness in his frame. No assault had struck him; instead, the dense Primordial Power embedded in the land created a more intense binding effect.
But as Dao Venerables all, the basic restraining force from Primordial Power couldn't truly hinder them. Sensing this peculiar pressure, from Wutian Venerable to Beast Divine Venerable, nearly everyone displayed signs of excitement.
Something promising lay here!
The Source Sea formed a turbulent mix of Primordial Power, and for wonders of the Great Dao or Primordial Marvels to form, a buildup of substantial Primordial Power was essential.
If this land blended seamlessly with the nearby sea without distinction, the odds of rare treasures appearing would be slim. Yet, with such potent suppression and denser Primordial Power, it clearly boosted the likelihood of precious marvels arising!
A spark of interest lit up in Chen Mu's eyes as well.
He too sought rare marvels in the Source Sea. While the Primordial Marvels he required were exceptionally scarce, success in the Source Sea hinged more on chances and fortune than raw power. Strength played a lesser role since even the lowliest Dao Venerable risked no death, and the mightiest had to search methodically.
The team advanced onto the land, heading toward its heart, while each member curbed their presence and grew more alert in their steps.
After all, this land clearly stood out as special. Sure, it might yield rare resource finds, but it could also harbor diverse Venerable Level Exotic Beasts or warped Spirits of the Fallen Venerable.
...
The terrain stretched to an inconceivable scale.
With the land mostly forged from thick Primordial Power, sensing abilities faced some limits. Even Chen Mu could only scan up to a billion miles.
Nevertheless, this landmass dwarfed billions of miles in extent, and its depths held warped Void formations.
In that manner,
the group kept probing deeper, and after covering an unclear span, they at last faced their initial ambush.
"Burn the Sky!"
Out of nowhere, a golden form burst from the distant terrain's Void, resembling a blazing sun, taking the shape of a Spirit of the Fallen Venerable positioned against them. It thrust one arm skyward in a flash, unleashing a torrent of searing golden radiance from its hand like hoisting a world-ending sun, before hurling it savagely at Chen Mu and the group.
It appeared as if this Spirit of the Fallen Venerable channeled its lingering intent to deploy its own arts, but at its core, it was just erratic Primordial Power imitating the display. The colossal sun of flames drew its essence not from the Power of the Dao, but remained a jumbled mass of Primordial Power.
"Unstable and Skyless,"
"Returning Ruins and Breaking Illusions!"
"Silent Annihilation."
Against the abrupt assault from the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable, Chen Mu and the fellow Dao Venerables responded with lightning speed. In a heartbeat, they unleashed counterstrikes in unison. Right away, eight fearsome Venerable Level expressions of Power of the Dao surged out, morphing into eight menacing arts that advanced to clash with the descending massive sun.
Like a setting sun meeting the waves, the two clashing powers erupted in fierce battle. Following a fierce clash, the arts from Chen Mu and the other eight gained the clear advantage, shredding that massive sun to pieces.
