Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 4 - Spatial Farm

Previously on Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World...
Zhao Hai, a transmigrator, awoke to find himself in the body of Adam Buda, a young master whose memories have merged with his own. He learned that he is now in the Black Waste, a desolate fief, along with the loyal butler Green and a small group of servants and newly acquired slaves. Despite the bleak surroundings and his inability to cultivate battle qi or magic, Zhao Hai resolved to survive and rebuild the Buda family. He then heard a voice echoing in his mind.

“Spatial Farm program initiating, connecting to network, network connection successful, operating normally, discovering host, inspecting host conditions, host condition normal, binding to host, your present level is one, system reward five hundred gold, six bags of hay seeds, each bag can plant one field, you have currently cleared one piece of land, area ten fields, level zero, you can purchase required seeds in the shop, harvest can be changed for gold in the shop, due to network malfunction, you can freely enter the farm, you can only connect to the server, unable to connect to friends, please excuse the trouble.”

Zhao Hai stood there, dazed. Everything felt like a surreal dream, and he struggled to believe his senses.

However, that voice had been unmistakable. Had he still been on Earth, Zhao Hai would have dismissed it as a simple prank. But this world was different; if he could come to terms with the fact that he had undergone transmigration, then what was left to doubt?

In mid-thought, Zhao Hai commanded: “Enter farm.”

A sudden flash blinded him. When his vision cleared, the castle was gone, replaced by a vast, open territory. The area was sizable, spanning roughly two-thirds of a hectare of tilled earth, with pristine shovels planted firmly at the edge of the plot. A small spring bubbled nearby, accompanied by a wooden bucket. A modest thatched hut stood on the grounds, flanked by a small dog house on its left side. Beneath the hut’s window sat two containers, labeled ‘insecticide’ and ‘herbicide’ respectively. A basket marked ‘collection’ rested beside them. To the right of the main structure sat a smaller hut labeled ‘barn’. Beyond these features, a dense, impenetrable fog walled off the rest of the world. Only the hut and the cleared land remained visible.

The sight was incredibly familiar to Zhao Hai. Despite the lack of a digital background, this place was a perfect replica of the game he knew best: Farm Game!

Unlike many other shut-ins, Zhao Hai’s passions lay in reading and writing novels. Even if his literary success was minor, it was a pursuit he never tired of, and he rarely bothered with gaming.

Eventually, some acquaintances convinced Zhao Hai to give Farm Game a try. It was a low-commitment experience with simple mechanics. He had stuck with it ever since, reaching level twenty-seven. While not an elite rank, he had cleared his plots and was currently focusing on his pastures.

Every beginner in the game knew the system provided a basic starter scene and a thatched hut. The environment Zhao Hai was currently standing in was an exact match. The only difference was that previously, he had viewed it through a monitor; now, he was physically present within the space.

Staring blankly at his surroundings, Zhao Hai was at a loss for words. Instinctively, he crouched down and ran his fingers through the dirt.

The moment he touched the earth, a voice resonated in his mind: “Spatial soil, level one, already plowed, can be used to plant crops, raising time to maturity, tenfold, can be brought out to use outside of the space, can improve soil outside of the space.”

His confusion instantly turned into delight. Realizing how little he knew about this dimension, he rushed to the spring and dipped his hand into the water. As expected, a notification appeared: “Spatial spring water, level one, can be drunk, has an improving effect on the human body, can be used for irrigation, raising crop maturity time, tenfold, can be brought out of the space and used, can improve soil outside of the space.”

This sudden stroke of luck left Zhao Hai lightheaded. With his hand still submerged in the cool water, he stood there with a vacant, joyful expression, giggling to himself, completely forgetting to pull his arm back.

After a long moment, Zhao Hai stood up and laughed toward the sky: “Wily Heavens, I really didn’t expect you would actually be this generous, hahaha, good, fine, excellent.”

Zhao Hai understood his situation perfectly. On the Ark continent, his inability to practice magic or battle qi meant he was destined for a life of mediocrity, unable to seek justice for Adam. But this space changed everything. Even if revenge remained out of reach, he could ensure the Buda clan prospered once more, which was a tribute to Adam in its own right.

Once he regained his composure, he hurried to the shovel by the field, eager to see if the tools possessed the same magical properties as the game.

Upon touching the shovel, the voice spoke again: “Shovel, tool, level one, can automatically turn the soil, operation time, ten fields / day, can be brought out to use outside of the space.”

Zhao Hai’s grin widened. He moved to the bucket, and another prompt triggered at his touch: “Bucket, tool, level one, can automatically irrigate the soil, operation time, ten fields / day, can be brought out to use outside of the space.”

“Insecticide, agricultural chemical, toxic, level one, can automatically kill insects, not for consumption, can be brought out of the space, doses / infinite.”

“Herbicide, agricultural chemical, toxic, level one, can automatically kill weeds, not for consumption, can be brought out of the space, doses / infinite.”

“Basket, tool, level one, can automatically collect crops, operation time, ten fields / day, can be brought out to use outside of the space, acquired harvest is automatically stored in barn.”

After testing every item outside, Zhao Hai realized that while this place functioned similarly to the game, it was even more versatile. To him, these enhancements were a massive advantage.

With his heart racing with excitement, Zhao Hai stepped into the thatched hut. The interior was compact but fully equipped: a hay-lined bed, a table with four chairs, a cupboard, a stove, and a set of dishes. Most notably, a device resembling a computer monitor sat near the head of the bed.

Zhao Hai approached the screen and saw it was active. It displayed only two icons: “Shop” and “Farm introduction.”

He immediately selected the farm introduction, desperate to understand the origin of this phenomenon and how the farm worked.

As his hand brushed the icon, it transformed into a beam of white light, flooding Zhao Hai’s mind with a massive influx of data. After taking time to process the information, he pieced together how the farm had manifested.

Before his arrival in this world, Zhao Hai had been playing the Farm Game on his computer. For reasons unknown, he was transported here, and the game had merged with his soul. The transmigration had altered the farm, preserving its core functions while making it significantly more powerful. It was now a system bound directly to him.

To put it simply, while he couldn't link to Earth’s servers, he had full control over the farm's features, including the shop. He could spend gold to buy supplies, sell his crops back to the system, and move items freely between the space and the outside world.

However, since the farm was only level one, many features remained locked. By leveling up, he could unlock pastures and expand his territory indefinitely. Activities like plowing, watering, and pest control would grant experience. Furthermore, he could bring external items into the space to trigger evolutions and gain levels. Essentially, Zhao Hai could introduce unique resources from the Ark continent to upgrade his domain. He had effectively gained a Heaven defying cheat.

Zhao Hai couldn't help but chuckle. With such a powerful tool, achieving prosperity would be simple, and restoring the Buda clan’s honor—perhaps even taking revenge for Adam—was no longer a pipe dream. A bold strategy began to take shape in his mind.

He could utilize the spatial soil and water to reclaim the barren lands of the Black Waste, essentially creating a massive private estate. Once the area was developed, he could recruit followers, establish himself as a powerful lord, and eventually settle the score for the Buda clan.

Coming back to reality, Zhao Hai shook his head and smirked at his own grand ambitions. He hadn't even started yet; it was better to focus on understanding the basics first.

He tapped the shop icon, and a prompt immediately echoed: “Welcome to the Spatial Shop, may I ask what you wish to purchase?”

The screen displayed various Earth crops, each with a price and level requirement. Seeing that it mirrored the game perfectly, Zhao Hai didn't linger. He closed the window and turned his attention to the rest of the room.

He eventually reached the cupboard. Suspecting it was more than just furniture, he was disappointed when no prompt appeared upon touching it. Frowning, he pulled the doors open and found three items inside: a cloth pouch, a short cane topped with a carved insect, and another cane shaped like a blade of grass. He recognized them instantly.

He grabbed the pouch first, and as expected, a notification appeared: “Purse, can hold gold, limitless quantity, current gold, five hundred, due to your level being too low, the gold cannot be brought outside the space.”

Zhao Hai’s eyes lit up. Though the message was brief, the implications were clear. This purse functioned like a spatial bag, albeit one restricted to currency. More importantly, the restriction on bringing gold outside was tied to his level. This meant that once he grew stronger, he would have access to an endless supply of spendable gold in the outside world. If that was true, the possibilities were limitless.
