Chapter 1467: Chapter 414: Visitors from Self Transformation Valley
Tata began testing her other abilities while the resonance of the bell waves had yet to fully fade. The pale red ripples within the sleeping chamber vanished only when the light from the bell-shaped object died out completely, leaving behind nothing but ash. When Tata attempted to use her Battle Song again, the previous amplification was nowhere to be found.
“I see,” Lin Su remarked, gently shutting the treasure chest and returning it to Tata. “It appears this multicolored item wasn't meant for absorption.”
Tata nodded silently, tucking the chest back into her Space Ring. The other four companions shared a look of sudden understanding. They finally realized why these multicolored treasures were wrapped in silk to prevent them from touching; their power was triggered by the sound of them shaking. This particular item functioned as a one-time consumable for amplification.
The pale red bell could only boost the skills associated with the pale red gemstone awakening, offering no benefits to other gemstone types. While they hadn't tested the other colors yet, the logic likely remained the same. Since these were expendable, there was no rush to use them until a future necessity arose. Lin Su was quite taken aback to find that multicolored items possessed utility beyond direct absorption.
“Now, everyone should get some rest,” he said with a smile, looking at the five little ones. By his count, it had been a full week since their return to Blue Planet.
Youyou and Guigui nodded with anticipation. They had stayed behind when Lin Su previously visited Blue Planet, focusing entirely on mastering space rules. Their period of absorption had finally concluded; Youyou had successfully visualized the twelfth and thirteenth phoenixes, while Guigui had followed Lin Venerate’s counsel to evolve its Hell World into the Nine Levels of Hell. Now, they were ready to return to Blue Planet and aid the research into Faith Evolution!
...
Shenwu, Qianling Sect. The following afternoon.
“Are there any further inquiries?”
The question rang out once more within the lecture hall of the Qianling Sect. Seeing that the disciples below had no more questions, Lin Su felt a sense of relief. With their doubts cleared, his mission at the Qianling Sect was effectively over.
“Brother Lin, is it already time for you to depart?” Tang Juran and Tang Youran approached, their expressions tinged with regret. The time spent exchanging insights had proven highly advantageous for both brothers.
“Even the finest feast must eventually end,” Lin Su replied, patting their shoulders with a grin. “If your path ever leads you to the Eastern Extreme Domain, I shall treat you to our finest local wines.”
“It’s a promise, then.”
“...”
After bidding the Tang brothers farewell, Lin Su moved toward Liu Changxuan, who stood in the corner with a commanding presence. A middle-aged woman stood beside him; she greeted Lin Su with a warm, exceptionally friendly smile the moment he approached. Sensing an aura comparable to Liu Changxuan’s, Lin Su immediately surmised her identity: Miao Yunge, the Valley Master of Self Transformation Valley.
“My greetings to Senior Liu and Senior Miao,” Lin Su said, bowing respectfully.
Before he could finish, a pair of hands grasped his own.
“Lin Su, my young friend, I felt an immediate connection with you,” Miao Yunge said warmly. “Do not worry; everything for your stay at Self Transformation Valley has been prepared. Treat it as your own home—there is no need for such formality.”
She chuckled softly. “Actually, in the years before I reached the legendary level, I traveled through the Eastern Extreme Domain. It is a pity I never visited the Immortal Phoenix Sect back then. Seeing you brings back memories of those days.”
Liu Changxuan’s expression shifted slightly at her words. He knew the truth of her travels; she had crossed the Endless Sea to hunt down a foe, leaving a trail of slaughter across the Eastern Extreme Domain. That campaign had forged her terrifying reputation. Despite her current gentle appearance, she was a woman one did not cross lightly.
“Senior Miao, I appreciate the effort you have taken...”
Miao Yunge cut him off with a dismissive wave. “Using ‘Senior’ makes us sound like strangers. Just call me Aunt Miao!”
Liu Changxuan was stunned. He wondered if he had been too stiff during Lin Su's stay at the Qianling Sect. Should he have insisted on being called ‘Uncle Liu’? It was too late for regrets now that Lin Su was leaving. How frustrating!
“...Thank you for your kindness, Aunt Miao,” Lin Su replied, his expression turning slightly awkward. He wasn't quite sure how to handle such sudden maternal warmth.
“I came personally to escort you today,” Miao Yunge said, patting his hand before turning to Liu Changxuan. “Daoist Liu, if you have no further business with him, I shall take my leave?”
Liu Changxuan remained silent. She had already made the decision for him.
“Senior Liu, I am grateful to you, the other seniors, and the entire Qianling Sect for the hospitality shown to me,” Lin Su said, bowing once more. “I have imposed upon you for many days; I will take my leave now.”
“Very well, go on,” Liu Changxuan nodded, adding after a brief pause, “You are welcome to visit our Sect whenever you wish.”
“I certainly will,” Lin Su promised.
Shortly after, an Eight-colored Immortal Crane took flight. Its vibrant feathers shimmered as its massive wings spanned the sky, carrying Miao Yunge and Lin Su away from the Qianling Sect toward Self Transformation Valley.
Elsewhere in the Northern Divine Domain, the eyes of a massive beast flickered. It watched the Qianling Sect from a great distance. Had that human youth, Lin Su, finally departed? Burned by previous encounters, it no longer dared to use direct surveillance, relying instead on its bloodline origin to track the boy’s movements.
Its suspicions were confirmed a moment later. The target was indeed heading for Self Transformation Valley. This meant the ambush had to be finalized immediately.
“Illusory King, why are you idling?”
A thunderous roar snapped the beast back to attention. The Illusory King turned to face another immortal who was at the seventh realm, perhaps even slightly stronger than itself.
“We must act swiftly. What is your decision?”
“My brother has been gone for two centuries; this is your golden opportunity to break the oath of rules you swore,” the Illusory King tempted.
“The backlash from breaking such an oath would leave me temporarily crippled,” the giant beast snarled. “That would mean making enemies of the Three Beast Taming Sects. Do you take me for a fool?”
“I have already informed you that the Martial Arts Four Sects will occupy the Three Beast Taming Sects,” the Illusory King’s eyes gleamed with a cold light. “If you refuse to help, I will ensure your enemies learn exactly when your oath-breaking weakness sets in.”
“You!” The giant beast’s eyes flared with murderous intent. After a tense standoff, the anger faded into reluctant submission. “Fine... just this once!”
