Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1226 1226: The Selected Students

Previously on Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy...
Eryn's treant form stood victorious after a fierce battle against Amaya, Vin, and Brannic, who had transformed into demons using rare Demon Blood and Essence, their coordinated strikes laced with corruption. Though drained and refusing to reveal their secrets amid the awed classmates' questions, the prodigies earned Eryn's stern admiration and a warning to master their power. Days later, invitations from nobles and guilds flooded in, but the trio ignored them, set on becoming disciples of the legendary Shadow Immortal, Vale. Professor Paterson then summoned them, revealing Vale's intent to accept all three—under a single, undisclosed condition.

Professor Paterson proceeded to delve into his robe next.

He pulled forth a compact container crafted from obsidian glass. With utmost care, he unfastened it, exposing six vials inside.

Three of them shimmered with a shadowy, twisting fog...

The trio recognized them right away, understanding these to be the Demon's Corruption Essence. The remaining three, radiating a red glow, were surely the Demon's Blood.

However, these items were far from typical.

"These," Paterson declared solemnly, "come not from mere fiends. They originate from Demon Saints."

The three students went rigid, their gazes expanding in astonishment.

"Demon Saints..." Amaya murmured, aware that such entities rivaled Immortals in might.

Vin found himself unable to hide his astonishment. "That's... impossible."

Brannic, in contrast, brimmed with thrill at that moment.

"Professor... why bestow these upon us?"

Paterson's face grew stern.

"This forms the requirement. Vale has issued me directives. You possess three months to refine your demonification spell with these vials. Should you prevail... should you achieve a transformation nearing that of a Demon Saint, acceptance as Vale's disciples awaits, along with his authentic guidance."

The three shared looks... Excitement surged through all of them.

Paterson drew nearer. "Secrecy is essential. None beyond this chamber may learn of it. Understood?"

"Yes," they replied together.

"Excellent. Vale has further permitted entry to the academy's exclusive training hall for three months. There resides the Animus Haven magic circle... A enigmatic formation that bolsters an Arcanist's perception, strength, magic zones, spell execution, and various arcane methods. It shall direct you, yet it will challenge you as well. Never belittle its potency."

The three gifted students overflowed with profound thanks for this opportunity.

"We will give it our all!"

"We won't let you down."

"Thank you for granting us this opportunity, Professor!"

Professor Paterson let out a light laugh. "Your own hard work earned this. I'm merely the bearer of the news. Nevertheless, ensure you don't neglect your lessons. Maintain strong performance across every course."

In that manner, their everyday existence shifted.

To start with, their schedule from afternoon through late night underwent a transformation.

Each morning, they continued joining the Transformation Arts lessons just like regular pupils.

The initial session involved Arcane History, covering the ascent and decline of old orders, conflicts across dimensions, and the beginnings of transformation arts.

Having vowed to excel in all these areas, Amaya and her companions paid close attention, taking in each bit of information.

Amaya frequently posed inquiries regarding the Demon Wars, although the instructors offered only guarded responses.

Following that came Magic Language Class, focusing on the Oardic and Ievada tongues that form the basis of spells. Vin shone brightly in this. He routinely pointed out errors to peers and felt confident about securing top marks.

Afterward arrived Fundamentals of Magic Zone, which instructed on broadening and steadying their individual magic zones... those unseen realms where their abilities took shape.

Brannic faced initial difficulties, his brute force conflicting with the precise equilibrium needed. Yet through determination, he started to steady his zone and expand its scope.

Additional courses appeared only once or perhaps twice weekly, including the Transformation Harmonization Class among them.

In this session, pupils worked on aligning animal shapes with their core human essence.

The three talents couldn't ignore the twist... as fellow students grappled with basic wolf or hawk integrations, their hidden gifts allowed effortless success in assessments. Even so, they trained with unwavering focus, akin to everyone else.

Classes wrapped up by noon...

During afternoons, they headed to the societies they'd signed up for.

To the surprise of many, Amaya opted for the Tea Appreciation Club.

She relished the serene ceremony of steeping tea, the discipline it required, and the nuanced craft of equilibrium. Deep down, she sensed this ability would prove useful one day.

"Even warriors require serenity," she remarked at one point, gently sipping from a fine porcelain cup...

This period stood as her calmest moment of the entire day.

Vin, by contrast, enrolled in the Spirit Crafter's Club, captivated by crafting items that fused Arcane Energy and Spells into artifacts and talismans.

Though a novice, he gradually picked up the craft in the Mystical Artifacts class.

Meanwhile, Brannic, much to the group's delight, chose the Writer's Club.

His hulking build seemed mismatched amid the feathers and scrolls, yet he revealed a hidden aspiration...

"Someday, I'll author novels. Tales of clashes, champions, and demons. When fame arrives, my name will spread, and history itself will etch my legacy."

He appeared driven by a fear of fading into obscurity.

Such societies offered them respite, and they savored every minute spent there.

Yet when the sun began its descent, their real ordeal commenced.

Promptly at 5 p.m., they stepped into the dedicated training chamber.

The room stretched wide, its ground claimed by the imposing Animus Haven magic circle.

Within the Magic Circle, meditation began, followed by ingesting a single drop of Corruption Essence and a drop of the Demon Saint's Blood, as per the Professor's guidance.

As soon as the fluid met their tongues, a searing sensation ignited while it descended their gullets.

Hearts pounded fiercely, souls buckled beneath the onslaught of demonic taint.

Amaya sensed her reflexes honing to an eerie degree...

'Patience... I must conquer patience.'

Vin caught whispers of malice, compelling him to conquer and surpass all rivals.

'I cannot surrender to hubris.'

Brannic faced constant trials in curbing his urge to shatter everything around him!

The Animus Haven circle throbbed with radiance, anchoring their spirits, exposing flaws, and directing their awareness.

Every evening proved a grueling test for them...

At times, they quivered from the strain, perspiration flowing as the corruption intensified. On other occasions, elation surged, power seeming tantalizingly close. Through it all, they persevered.

Weeks flowed from passing days.

Mornings brimmed with studies, afternoon pursuits in clubs soothed their spirits...

Yet nights yielded to the Animus Haven.

Gradually, their thoughts adjusted, with Vale's Avatar observing the entirety...
