The Assault Camp executed a flawless ambush on a Cave Huo transport team in the man-made forest, emerging victorious with no fatalities despite facing superior numbers and strength, thanks to traps, darkness, superior equipment, and Ye Zhongming's decisive strikes against enemy leaders. They swiftly secured the battlefield, claimed valuables including the captain's head, and vanished into the woods, leaving no traces after a mysterious figure dissolved the corpses with powder. In Dark Strip City, excitement brewed over the Star-Eye Clan's shop reopening with an auction featuring a rare Red Condensation grade Taros Red Dwarf weapon and an eight-turn Changxu Water Race medicine, while news of the Cave Huo's robbed convoy—all members slain and goods stolen—sparked a frantic but fruitless search, with suspicions evaded.

The Assault Camp continued with their training sessions, yet the expressions on the faces of everyone present carried a strange undertone.

Being residents of Dark Strip City, these individuals stayed connected to events beyond their borders. The wider world had erupted into fervent debates surrounding the recent assault.

However, not a soul accepted that the Star-Eye Clan was responsible.

For starters, it was clear to all that the Star-Eye Clan struggled just to hold things together internally, surviving solely on the prizes from topping the Novice battlefield rankings. The resources they gained were even more strained by the survivor fortress's relocation this round. Though restarting their shop had brought them some spotlight lately, sharp observers could tell there hadn't been any substantial advancements.

Why think that way? Well, folks were aware that Ye Zhongming, now leading as the Bronze Order Leader, maintained strong ties with the folks from the Changxu Water Race. Securing an eight-turn medicine from them wasn't out of the question. Regarding the Red Condensation grade gear, hadn't Ye Zhongming acquired seven items? Pulling one for the auction house made perfect sense. The other six could likely trickle out for sale over time to keep the Star-Eye Clan afloat.

Moreover, every indicator pointed to the Star-Eye Clan's three primary fighting squads remaining cooped up inside their territory without venturing forth.

A further point against pinning it on the Star-Eye Clan was the upcoming auction. During such a pivotal moment, only a complete idiot would stir up this kind of chaos.

Thus, nobody bought into the idea that the Star-Eye Clan pulled it off.

The stronger this disbelief grew, the more thrilled the Assault Camp fighters felt. Still, they couldn't display this joy outright, leading to their unusual looks that weren't all that out of place.

Another source of delight for them was their Bronze Order Leader upgrading their gear.

The gear distributed earlier had been solid already, and they understood its caliber. That stuff matched at least the Taros Red Dwarves' Common grade. Back then, the Star-Eye Clan lacked much of it. Even when available, it went straight to the Gold and Silver teams first; these folks hadn't gotten their share yet.

Yet now, the Bronze Order Leader handled the enhancements himself. Based on the pieces already upgraded, they had clearly reached near Ke Steel grade standards.

How could they not get pumped up? Gear at that level was typical only for squads from powerful races!

Having spent this stretch in the Assault Camp, these seventy warriors experienced something entirely transformed.

All recognized that this decision had likely reshaped their destinies forever.

Ye Zhongming's skills in crafting were climbing swiftly—not through wheel tech, but via insights into the universe's peoples.

Merging those two fields had unlocked a fresh pathway for him.

As he absorbed diverse knowledge and boosted his expertise, he might not yet forge supremely mighty hybrid gear, but hitting the Ke Steel grade had become straightforward.

This neared Jikesu's peak achievement. The elder, though astonished, couldn't hold back admiration for this new Order Leader's remarkable aptitude.

His craft had progressed, yet a challenge loomed: advancing further demanded vast production, hands-on trials, and numerous tests that could flop, as he knew.

This wouldn't come cheap.

Jikesu's own gifts were top-notch too. So why had he lingered at this stage through his later years despite decades of work? Simple—the Star-Eye Clan couldn't supply ample materials for his drills and trials. And Ye Zhongming's swift gains stemmed exactly from trading in heaps of assorted grade gear from the Novice shop for analysis!

That said, he couldn't keep relying on that forever. Beyond shares handed to the Changxu Water Race, Helsky, and similar allies, plus what he'd used lately, the Novice rewards were running dry.

This factored heavily into Ye Zhongming's choice to launch the raid.

The spoils turned out plentiful.

In a pause from gear crafting, a summons came from the two Clan Leaders.

While outsiders remained clueless about the Assault Camp's role in the strike, the duo at the top were fully informed. They brought Ye Zhongming in now to discuss disposing of the haul.

"You hold onto the materials for your personal needs. But the gear? Even if the quality isn't top-tier, each piece carries unique traits. Keeping them for our use or offloading them would reveal our involvement."

Star Leader gazed at Ye Zhongming with a grin, deeply pleased.

What pleased him most wasn't the raid's triumph, but that zero lives were lost.

Ye Zhongming pondered briefly. The count of these shady gear items wasn't huge—just a couple hundred. They aligned with the Taros Red Dwarves' Common grade. He'd inspected them earlier; by Earth's metrics, they edged out Gold equipment a touch.

Ke Steel grade surpassed Purple equipment somewhat. Red Condensation grade fell short of seven-colored gear for sure, yet outshone Purple by a good margin. He hadn't encountered the later Raini grade or Lie God grade, so no verdict there.

Naturally, wheel-based gear differed at its core from the universe's racial creations. The first focused on abilities, the second on utilities. Both shone in their ways, allowing only loose parallels; no direct equation.

"When does the clan plan to pick the newest spokesperson?"

Ye Zhongming posed an unexpected query.

Star Leader eyed Ye Zhongming and replied, "You mean…"

Ye Zhongming saw the comprehension and confirmed with a nod. "As we settled earlier, I get one spokesperson position and all five entry passes. If feasible, I'd like to lock in the spokesperson quickly—the head of the group tied to me back on my origin world."

"Are the entry passes available whenever?"

"The entry passes work anytime. The spokesperson needs clan registration, involving some steps. But relax, these won't be issues. The universe's races don't enforce this rigidly, provided you hold the slot."

Eye Leader took the floor this round.

"Regarding selection methods, later contacts, and gear transfers, set protocols and sites exist. Guidance will come when it's time. Only…"

Eye Leader glanced at Ye Zhongming and added, "I get that you aim to funnel these unusable-in-the-open gear items via the proxy route to your origin world. But remember, with the Slave Race holding it, sending stuff demands Moonspan Gold expenditure. Plenty of these gear pieces mean hefty transmission fees. The value might not justify it; losses could occur."

Ye Zhongming acknowledged with a nod, yet stuck to his plan.

"Rest easy, Clan Leaders both. With my involvement, linking up with my team on the origin world and steering their moves precisely will yield far bigger gains for us."

At Ye Zhongming's words, the two Clan Leaders dropped their resistance. It was pre-decided, and he'd cover the expenses personally.

"Oh, and there's mail waiting for you. Head back and check it out."

Star Leader passed Ye Zhongming a fancy crystal envelope. He accepted it and lightly brushed the face. A fluid, round border surfaced on the crystal lid, capturing the image of Ye Zhongming's visage upon it.

As though unlocked by this, the crystal lid parted smoothly side to side, accompanied by soothing tunes, uncovering an elegantly made letter sheet.

Ye Zhongming examined it and realized it was a formal notice.
