All MILFs are Mine Chapter 314: This is what you call politics

Adwin hesitated to intervene in Leon's deadly duel with the demon Ragal, bound by the unbreakable demonic pact circle that promised death to any who crossed its boundary. Facing certain defeat, Leon feigned surrender before dashing toward the circle's edge, drawing Ragal's pursuit and triggering the demon's explosive demise upon violation of the pact. As shock rippled through the onlookers, Leon concealed his identity, learned the enemy demons had fled, and confirmed the destruction of their village through Dusk's efforts, culminating in massive explosions that propelled him to level 50 and unlocked new system abilities.

"No... I'll handle him." Leon declared while stepping ahead and lifting his arm.

Across from him, Enid clasped her hands behind her back, pressing her nail hard against her finger.

'Come on... I can't mess this up; the moment must be spot on.' Enid pondered, her face etched with intensity.

...

"That'll do." Leon responded, a grin spreading across his features.

All at once, a blade from one of the Nyxter's weapons hurtled in from the side, slicing a tiny gash into his finger.

'Now...' Enid mused as she swiftly nicked her own finger with her nail.

*Drop*

*Drop*

Drops of their blood plummeted onto the circle, yet one key detail stood out: the demon pact circle ignited in a fierce crimson glow even before Leon's blood made contact.

"The pact stands sealed. Oh, and there's something else I may have omitted—the first to exit this pact circle perishes in ten seconds... Hehehehe." Merlin cackled with a wild grin, convinced he'd bound Leon to the agreement.

Present Time...

Inside the royal carriage, Leon sat alongside Adwin and Dreulis.

"Hmm... So he was bound in a pact with that demon girl, and she was unaware, meaning by the rules, he became the first to leave the circle.

Quite the clever tactic." Adwin commented, beaming broadly at Leon.

"Truly a sharp strategy; even I wouldn't have devised it. But how did you realize the demon girl had let her blood fall on the pact circle ahead of yours?" Dreulis inquired, eyeing Leon curiously.

"Well, while I lay wounded on the ground... I caught sight of everyone's expressions, and only Enid wore a smile. Before I could puzzle out her reason for grinning... she snapped her finger, sending a droplet of her blood to the floor.

That's when it hit me why she looked so pleased." Leon answered, smiling back.

"So... you staked your life on that alone?" Adwin questioned, his face registering surprise.

"Not just that... You wagered again by dashing from the pact circle. What made you certain the demon would pursue you?" Dreulis pressed, gazing at Leon.

"Like I mentioned... it was a pure gamble. Failure meant death. Nothing more to it." Leon stated evenly.

"A man unafraid of dying... you're destined for remarkable feats." Dreulis observed.

"Well, he's already a ruler. A formidable and cunning one, no less." Adwin added with a grin.

"Yeah... on that note, I'm no king, Adwin." Leon said, turning to Adwin.

"What?" Adwin blurted, his eyes bulging in astonishment.

"That's right. No realm called Gotham exists, and I'm no monarch. That's all I can share about myself right now.

I fabricated that story just to slip past your son at the border that day. Your spy overheard and reported it to you." Leon clarified.

"And... it never crossed your mind to reveal the truth at the banquet or that private gathering?" Adwin demanded, his tone sharpening.

"Adwin... I deceived you, and I'm sorry. But keep your voice low." Leon urged, fixing him with a stern look.

"You have no clue who you're addressing. I'm the sovereign of this wretched realm, and you had the nerve to deceive me?

I believed you were my ally. Heavens... I'm utterly let down." Adwin vented, glaring furiously at Leon.

"Two points: I've never implied friendship, and you only summoned me to that meeting to throw more troops into the fray for your sake." Leon countered calmly.

"I'd exhaust every resource to safeguard my realm and its citizens. Forming ties with a nearby kingdom—that's politics." Adwin shot back gravely.

"Well... I just rescued your kingdom from a demonic assault, and you owe me big. I'll collect when the moment arrives." Leon stated flatly.

"You believe I'm intimidated by you simply because you slew a few demons by risking your neck? Give me one motive to view that as a debt from a notorious deceiver like you?"

"No need... after all, you're a genuine ruler, and I can't halt your political games. Nor can I impose my desires on you. This is my stop; could you please instruct your driver—"

"HALT THE CARRIAGE!" Adwin bellowed, and the vehicle jerked to an abrupt stop.

*SCREEEEECH*

Leon rose from his position, straightened his attire, and pivoted to face Adwin.

"What?" Adwin queried sternly.

"I took down some demons today, but is the threat ended? Your heir still battles demons out there, the elves keep probing the borders.

Countless troops fell at an outpost, and I've witnessed the beast behind it. I've clashed with it, and trust me, if it decimates another battalion... you'll face tough questions from your subjects. You wouldn't want them learning about such a mighty, mysterious creature prowling the woods—because if they did, I doubt they'd remain in your realm.

Amid these perils... you truly can't afford extra foes, King Adwin. So, pause before rejecting my favor outright.

Now, I'll depart." Leon declared, his eyes flashing vivid red beneath his mask as an aura of bloodlust emanated from him.

Adwin stared back gravely, eyes wide; he held no fear of Leon, yet words escaped him in response.

He exited the carriage then, and prior to shutting the door, Leon glanced at Adwin once more.

"This is politics, King Adwin. I'm Leon Luster, and I despise when folks overlook my debts." Leon said as he doffed his mask and sealed the carriage door.

*THUD*
